Your video brought tears to my eyes. I'm 70 and my mom is 95 and suffers from dementia. I have so many fond memories of cooking with her! We'd get the giggles, occasionally mess up a recipe, she taught me so much about cooking. Half the time it was my job to follow with cleaning up. We made a great team! Thank you for sharing...
Same here! My mom is 76, with bad physical problems and dementia, I care for her now and I’m 55. She was a chef and I used to work along side her all of my life in various different ways… catering, restaurants, family and friend functions, wedding cakes…etc. I love watching these videos of Becky and her Mom… their styles are a lot like ours were. ❤️
"My Mom's fixing my work" is probably my favorite sentence in all of your videos. Because we've all been there, haven't we? I love you guys cooking together btw.
Your mom explaining her timeline made my schedule oriented brain SO HAPPY!!!! I’ve been doing a very minimal version of a timeline for holidays, but now I’ve got to step up my game and make a timed plan!!! So amazing!! 🤯
Perfect corn: keep them in the husks, soak in water at least 2 hours. Slap them on the grill. Saves the planet and money on aluminum foil and corn this way is THE best!!
You and your mom are cooking, prepping machines! Your whole family seem so comfortable while filming. A real pleasure to watch and pick up some new food ideas. Still in love with your mom's kitchen! Blessed family indeed.
Thank you for the simple recipes with no scrolling. I HATE when I am in a hurry and just trying to get dinner on the table and need to look something up on a recipe and having to click out of a bunch of ads and scroll through content. You get me. Thanks :)
Wow, now I know how you became such a ninja in the kitchen! Your amazing mom trained you well. Both of you have such wonderfully cheerful and down to earth personalities. I would love to have a friend or neighbor like you two!
I’ve learned in culinary school to never deglaze a pan with water, always use a stock or wine to add flavor rather than dilute flavor. Keep it up! Your an amazing home chef ❤️ very inspiring.
You guys are so much fun to watch! Should rename your channel “Maximum Efficiency” or “Peak Performance” Acre Homestead, as y’all utilize multiple inputs to create maximum output. I love the logic 😁😁😁
Your mom and I are so similar! I do everything she does when I host parties… down to the detailed timeline! I do it all! It’s very comforting, I’m not alone! My friends and family make fun of me
Just a bit of a recommendation which you've seem to figure out at the end lol is whenever you make Mac and cheese, make the rue in a pot to accommodate the cheese and noodles. I make Mac and cheese a lot for events since a lot of people ask for me to make it. Thanks for sharing this video. So beautiful to see you and your mom together. I see where you get your values and cooking techniques from. Definitely a special time you both have together. ❤️
“So I’m going to watch and manage those two things at the same time” and then…. It was so Beckyish! Loved the whole vid . You are so refreshing and real , don’t ever change!
A great camping corn is to put your corn in a cooler and pour boiling water on them, close the top and let sit for 20 minutes. Works great for a potluck cookout also.
What a lovely family! The family that cooks together knows what it's all about...good food, love, and good company. My mouth was watering! I hope you had a great time camping and congrats to your husband. What's his degree in? Shine on...
Seriously one of those "why didn't I think of that?!" moments when I watched her explain how she does that! Game changer. It's no wonder we all love Becky - her mom is the best! And her dad picks blueberries and preps the house while they cook? What a team!!!!
Becky, I am Persian. the Persian use to grill the corn then put it in the hot salted water. take it out from the water and shake off the water and chew in it. very yummy.
Awesome! So good to see you and your mom working together. Also, nice to see your dad and sister helping out with picking blue berries! What a tribute to a loving family!! YUM-YUM!!
Becky, you & your Mom work so well together. Love the line, your Mom checking if you got it all covered! It must be fun doing things together! My Mom & I did some cooking together which was great, but I enjoyed it more when we made things, clothes for me, when I was learning & later for my kids, some for her. But I like making dolls, stuff animals, purses, bags etc. I think she like it to. She could knit & crochet too, I can some. But she knitted sweaters for my kids & me. She made herself some too. They all were wonderful, also she made one sweater for my husband & he cherished that sweater very much. I couldn't make a sweater. My love is sewing & crafting!👩🍳 Cooking some! But more now listening to you! I'm 73yrs. Thanks for sharing!❤☺️🫂🌞🍄🪻🌹🦋
All looks good. Thanks for sharing. Happy Belated birthday 🥳 Corn tip: soak in water and trim the hairy tops. Throw on the grill with the husk. Will add a ton of flavor and don't have to use aluminum.

Seriously I love your channel! You are so down to earth and have really inspired me to start living into the Homestead ways. I have always envisioned living that way but always find an excuse not to start. Also, I absolutely love your mom and her organization skills. She's a woman after my own heart!
All of her fans should fly out to Portland than drive to her house. We should have a cleaning and harvest festival in her garden. Talk about an awesome makeover. Who’s with me!!! Lol.
Saw your mom light her grill with a lighter, assuming its because the ignitor isn't working, there is an easy fix! If you screw off the ignitor knob there will be a battery, it's probably just dead! Just learned this a few months ago and it would have saved me so many grills.

I love watching you cook with your Mom. It reminds me of when I would cook with mine. She’s 86 now and unable to cook like she used to. This frustrates her to no end. However, my memories of those times are something I will always cherish.
This tugs at my heart. Seeing you and your mom work together. I'm 77 and my mom and I never worked like that. I have only couple of recipes from her and they are just things that were thrown together. I am sad that we didn't have any relationship that brought us together in the kitchen or actually anywhere. I know you will always think back to these times and be full of gratitude that you and your mom could spend this precious time together. You are both blessed and I know your mom feels this special time, too.
I have a cupboard under the coffee counter that stores my serving pieces. I didn’t mention in the time line that I include planning the serving dishes and serving spoons. I put them out when I set the tables the night before.
Hi Becky and mom, I just love how you and your mom and your family all work together. I just sense Such a community amongst your family. Everyone helps everyone which is so awesome! I loved your mom’s little method of setting her alarm to keep up with all the things she has to take care of throughout the afternoon! So cool! It is such a wonderful thing to see people work together So efficiently. I really learned a lot watching your show! Thanks so much!❤️
First, thank you to you and your mom for rescuing the dog I'm so happy he/she got reunited with the owner. Secondly I think it's wonderful of you to include your mistakes, we are all human and it happens to everyone. Time saving tricks for your prep: corn on the cob, with the husk on,, cut about 3/4 to 1 inch off of the stalk end. Grasp the tussle end firmly and either press out or shake out the ear of corn. No solk no hassle only a few seconds per each. Shredded cheese: Your food processor with a shredder plate o under have knocked all of that out in less than a minute and so much easier to clean than a box grater. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful ideas.
I love watching your mom’s parties! You and your family is so loving and caring! Your mother thinks about the guests’ allergies and preferences, your father cleans the house to receive the guests and you are an amazing daughter helping your rockstar mom!
Awee so glad the baby got back to his family, I know if my baby boi went missing I would lose my mind. Thanks and God Bless again for taking it home! And as a 52 yo that has been cooking since 12 I am a lover of list and timelines. I would be lost without them!!
This makes me so excited for fall time videos. Hope you’re surviving this wicked heat. We’ve had such intense humidity and rain this way I’m just waiiiiting for powdery mildew to show it’s face. xo have a great week
Every mom and daughter cooking adventure and bonding life-long memory experience should be like this ! Most people don't have this awesome family connection in the holiday and special moments category. Thanks for the warm family love in cooking with such precision and knowledge of tried and true methods. Awesome family love !
Becky your videos are so much fun to watch. I miss my Mom so much and wish I could have one more day in the kitchen with her! Thank you for sharing your Mom with us!
Just wanted to say that I just subscribed to your channel because I have watched a few of your videos and I am very impressed. As a young woman you are amazing with all that you do. Working full time and running a homestead. You and your family are very caring and work hard to keep family values passed down. Great videos. You are amazing.
Great way to break down the prep and party day task list! I do that for events at work, but never thought to apply it to a party or big gathering! PS>Nice Mac n Cheese save! 😉
Love your Mom’s timeline idea! Makes total sense, why I never implemented something similar when I entertained. Love watching you AND your Mom. Thank you!
Wow, your mom is a party hosting queen! Thank you for this video and all the tips. All the food looks so good. I'm definitely going to try planning things backwards like that with alarms.
I am so thankful to see your mistakes in the kitchen because as a non-competent cook that’s trying to find her way in the kitchen, your troubleshooting and the explanations behind them are so helpful to me. I’m loving your channel and devouring the content. Well done!
I down loaded your moms shopping list and menu maker…. It’s changed my life, no more walking thru the store, thinking of things to make, and no more overbuying! I love you twos organizational tips, they are so doable, and very inspiring! Love to have more organizing tips!
I bought the Anerica's Test Kitchen Cooking School Cookbook based on your recommendation. Soooo glad I did. I've been cooking for 50 years but I've learned a lot and expect to learn more once I get through the book. It just came yesterday and I'm about 1/4 of the way through the 800+ pages. Heavy book, but I'm loving it. Thank you Becky for sharing that with us! I love your channel.

You amaze me and your mom is just as amazing! You are very lucky to have the mom you have as she has obviously taught you well. You work well together and get a lot done in a short amount of time. Brava!
Oh and Salt, and Flour LOL- I love it- you keep being you- super informative and entertaining!! Thanks for another great video- and at 49 I am still learning - and you are teaching me some stuff :)
U are so blessed to still have ur parents. It’s wonderful u cook together. I love watching u an ur mom cook I never had that opportunity my mom would not let me in kitchen.
I love how you guys make allowances for your family members with food allergies. I never want to burden my family with my immediate families allergies so I always bring my own food when I visit them. So I really appreciate you all thinking with this when prepping your foods. 💞
My goodness ur moms tips on how to enjoy urself while still getting food out was amazing!!! It didn't even seem that stressful! Thank u for the information.

I cook them this way too. Always perfect corn!
Great tip!
Awesome tip!!! I personally don’t like too much foil on foods.
i second this !!
It adds to the flavor too. I also add the husks on the top when boiling corn.
You and your mom are cooking, prepping machines! Your whole family seem so comfortable while filming. A real pleasure to watch and pick up some new food ideas. Still in love with your mom's kitchen! Blessed family indeed.

Your mom raised a couple of awesome daughters. Great homemaking skills to have.
I love how you guys make allowances for your family members with food allergies. I never want to burden my family with my immediate families allergies so I always bring my own food when I visit them. So I really appreciate you all thinking with this when prepping your foods. 💞
