Nice find....we got one of them in NEW South Wales....the Everliegh railway workshop in Redfern Sydney.....steam and FRIKN AWSOME....see Alec Steele's story.....they clean up well but were hidden away abandoned for years beneath grime filth and clutter....no more....its a museum and school now.
I think i saw that it looks like and epic place. If i could liberate it from there i would and get it working again. Its a monster. thank you for the great comment dude .
Thank you dude. That would be amazing helping students and smiths alike is cool. If you have any information on this i would love to see. thank you for the great comment.
Dude hope that helps. If you need to chat drop me a comment here or send me an email through my website www.iastudios.co.uk. out of interest why you ask me? also are you a sub? just want to know you don't need to be.
I'm subbed on my other google+, I don't really use this one for much other than more serious stuff. Sorry for the lateness of this reply but I asked you because you're approachable and a realistic representation of what a blacksmith should be. There are plenty of really skilled people on this platform but few to none bring human qualities into their work if that makes any sense.
great vid mate very imformative im 45 and been smithing for two years im totally hooked theres something about taking a piece of steel and doing what your imagination allows you are a craftsman mate if i had half your skills id be rapt keep up the good work cheers from aus
Dan, thanks for the comments. But I think my goal is to be a competent amateur. The part I love about smithing is making something unique from a plain piece of steel or transforming something into a useful or beautiful. Thumbs Up
Its cool to be an amateur just look at me hehe. Your right dude its wired how you can squash something hot with a hammer and end up with something beautiful. thank you for the great comment as always.
Top video, answered all the questions I asked you in my facebook message. We have similar backgrounds. I'm a blacksmith by trade, then I did fabrication and welding. Now I teach fabrication and welding and mechanical engineering. I'll take the advice you've given, run with it. My overall goal is to create a small college delivering Blacksmith courses.
very good information for those starting out and those already smithing education is the key and it sure beats looking at the ass end of a horse all day as donkey mechanics lol
I can't stand horse and the worst bit is the ass end hehe. Thank you for the kind words dude and the great comment education is often a great way to better ones self.
Hey Dan🤙 great information. Thanks ,man. I very new in blacksmithing and making knives. This was a world of help. I always like to know how and where did someone learn to blacksmithing? That always interest me? This is all new to me but I like to make stuff. So, thanks and do you have a long distance course online to maybe help me. Thanks again..
Hi Dan, I am in no place to criticise anyone who does what you or those pair do. I will however comment that a certain producer of said Video's has perhaps forgotten those viewers who subscribed in the early days to get him to where he is now and is somewhat commercialised it all and it is now showing in his productions. There is nothing unique to his videos anymore aka, fabulous, wonderful to have you here, its fabulous ... insert montage of working. Meh, loosing interest fast. My 0.2c. HOWEVER to answer your Question, you can never tell who is batter/catcher these days :P
When I started reading this thought I had offend you but I guess I didn't. dude criticize away. well up for it and if i ever let you guys down and get all like fabulous on ya let me know by sharing this comment with me. you guys are the heart of the channel and i need you to make this worth doing.

I will have a look. Is it a degree cause in blacksmithing? Cool do you have a website? thank you for the great comment.
Daniel Moss i don't think they do degree courses. All the info is on their website.
