Jon Lord is my all time favourite player. But no-one should underestimate Don Airey, the guy is truly great. In my opinion, the only one who could replace the Lord.
2 keyboard legends on the same stage. Amazing! Thank you for sharing! Any true Deep Purple fan knows that Don is amazing. Lord was and still is brilliant and is missed, but Don is doing one hell of a job, so stop the flaming.
So I have to add one more to my list of Keyboard greats. Don Airy of Collasium. Little known to me until he replaced Jon. The others well Rick and Keith of course.
Yeah this composition was called "Fairground Fantasy", and it was recorded in a project called "Wind in the Willows - A Rock Concert", because it was concert for the film Wind in ... I personally don't like Don Airey, but they did a interesting job on this one. JON LORD RULES
Only die hard fans and non musicians like you can´t see that JL did not develop since the early 70s - for whatever reason. And JL = No.1? ...best joke on youtube .... Here you can hear that Airey is far ahead - as is Emerson, Argent, Wakeman, Rudess and many others.
@TMUSICIAN - Jon Lord personally approved of Don Airey as the next man in Deep Purple and since he played with Rainbow and Whitesnake which has quite much to do with Deep Purple I feel it was a natural choice. The word "technique" is overused on the internet. I actually seen a documentary where one person says Ritchie Blackmore had superier technique and in the next minute another says he had average technique. I can't who has better, Lord or Airey, but that don't matter to me. Both are great!
Ahh i love this kind of only-fans-and-knowledgeable-musicians--can-have-a-true-vote-on-this "competition" thing! The 2 of them are maestros on their own right! Come on man! You have Jon Lord and Don Airey!!!
It is down to nuances and style. Both are incredible players and can make a Hammond sing, growl, rock and appeal to all types of ear.. enjoy both and rejoice in the fact we have videos of Jon to still see his performances.
Airey is technically better than Lord, but music isn't only technique. Lord is a pioneer of the rock keyboards, he can be compared only with Rick Wakeman, or Keith Emerson, or Tony Banks, musicians of his generation. Airey is a musician of the next generation. Without Lord and his works of pioneering, the style of Airey never can be developed. Anyway, Lord is a classical and rock composer, not Airey.
Airey's skills are great , he's a great organ/keyboard player... But my master is Lord.. You should not listen to this to compare them.... Cut Runs Deep for Airey and Highway Star (made in Japan version) for Lord.... I just love Lord.... My techniques of playing the keyboard are based on his playstyle, on my profile u can find myspace address where i've put my prog/rock songs with Organ, and you can say if I'm Airey or Lord peon... Long live to both, but Jon Lord is the best organ in rock player
Jon Lord is my all time favourite player. But no-one should underestimate Don Airey, the guy is truly great. In my opinion, the only one who could replace the Lord.
Please people, don't compare Don with Jon: they're both two master keyboard players! The best expression of Rock Organ
I have been a fan of the music of Deep purple since the year 1968 when I was 16 years old! I love the sound of the newest album Woosh!
2 keyboard legends on the same stage. Amazing! Thank you for sharing! Any true Deep Purple fan knows that Don is amazing. Lord was and still is brilliant and is missed, but Don is doing one hell of a job, so stop the flaming.
Jon Lord, the keyboard hero of our generation.
Not forgetting Keith and Rick. Keith and Jon sadly gone. But Legends
the two reasons why I play keyboards are right here!
Classic music giants....👍🥰
🎶🎹🎵🎹💛 miluji vás oba ❗🌻
Very different players both fantastic
Jon Lord did not simply approve of Don Airey as his replacement. Jon Lord hand picked Don Airey to be his replacement.
Magnifico.😭
amazing!! fantastic!!!
¡Una rareza fantástica! (A fantastic raritie!) Gracias! (Thanks!)
Magic hands, both!
Lo maximo
Rock In Peace John Lord
RIP Jon Lord.
The master and the pupil.
RIP John :-(
So I have to add one more to my list of Keyboard greats. Don Airy of Collasium. Little known to me until he replaced Jon. The others well Rick and Keith of course.
Looks like Pete Best at that drums. :) love it
the drummer reminds me of Michael Palin.
Deep. Purple
Yorkie on drums.
DON AIREY,
woooowwww coolllll
Mr.Hammond jon lord
where they are played together?
Stop spamming every single Jon Lord video, try to overcome your frustration and let the people enjoy the great music.
+Bruffie1 that's true
Yeah this composition was called "Fairground Fantasy", and it was recorded in a project called "Wind in the Willows - A Rock Concert", because it was concert for the film Wind in ...
I personally don't like Don Airey, but they did a interesting job on this one.
JON LORD RULES
@dbyo88 C3 Hammond Organ with Leslie
¿Quienes pusisieron 'Dislike'? ¿Wakeman, Jarrett, Corea...? ¿Quién más?
What's the type of keyboard Jon Lord's playing?
Hammond B3 organ and Korg M1 synth workstation.
You must be very intelligent and well educated xxD
1 person listen justin bieber -.-
Lord shows his class here - prior to his playing, this piece is pretty poor! (still can't bring myself to click 'dislike' though....it's JL!).
For all those musical dummies here: Jon Lord repeats his few licks and boring phrases. Don Airey is the much better skilled keyboard player.
Airey is a cabaret band keyboard player. Good at making farting sounds.
Is that all you do for a living? Troll Jon Lord? For a self proclaimed musician you sure have a lot of time to waste on spouting drivel.
Rick Wakeman is better than both of them!
Both these players are less than mediocre
Rick Wakeman said the best keyboard player in the world would have his right hand, left hand of Keith Emerson and a soul of Jon Lord. Nuff said!
Don is good, but Jon was from another Univrse!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rise In Purple, Jon, forever in my heart!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE-KING and THE-PRINCE !!!!! W-O-W !!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍

Jon is a Lord and Airey is Don.
Yes

The 2 of them are maestros on their own right! Come on man! You have Jon Lord and Don Airey!!!
Grandioser Jon, mit seinem würdigen Nachfolger
@dbyo88 This is not a C3 but a 1970's Hammond B-3 which I assume is connected to a 147 Leslie judging by the growl and raw sound the organ produce.
It is down to nuances and style. Both are incredible players and can make a Hammond sing, growl, rock and appeal to all types of ear.. enjoy both and rejoice in the fact we have videos of Jon to still see his performances.
like the superior mario brothers met spinal tap and did acid together. haha just noticing I dislexically wrote superior and I"m leaving it that way.
Both are 1st class players & musicians!.. My tribute to Jon Lord:
Uros Stanojlovic - Early keyboards playing & demos
Don Airey, good enough for Gary Moore...Good enough for me!!!
Superdrumming?
But Wakeman is the PIANIST in the first place and then the keyboardplayer
Airey is fantastic but Jon's N° 1!!!

cut runs deep is also Lord
@@Rollusify Cut runs deep has got fuck all to do with Don Airey.
INCREDIBLE!!!
This is delightful. Thanks Jon.
Wow, this wasn't very good at all.
