This and the rando addon member accidentally stealing from Kleceon is 100% accurate. Happened once. I made my teammates stand outside and wait EVERY TIME after that.
That monster house bit sums up that experience perfectly. A million enemies in a dungeon you’re at a type disadvantage in and having no room to move. On top of your extra recruits being worthless.
Thats why i ALWAYS make sure to have a Paralysis Orb or Foe Hold Orb in my pack before entering a dungeon. One quick use and what was an inescapable situation becomes effortless to escape. On top of that, using a Paralysis/Foe Hold Orb in a monster house gives you an extra opportunity to grind some exp by clearing the house out completely.

Man, that is the most accurate depiction of monster houses. Surrounded on all sides, pelted by multi-hit and AOE moves every turn, take one step and land on a trap because you weren't screwed enough, apparently. They're literally the only reason I take a Petrify Orb everywhere I go
A petrify orb is a must. So is Wide Slash if you want to get through the mess more quickly. Just uhh... Remember to turn off any teammates moves that affect the entire room if you don't want the Petrify Orb's effects to be immediately nullified. 😅
The monster house was hilarious. I think the only thing worse was in explorers of sky where there'd be one giant open room, and on the far end of it is spiritomb spamming ominous wind

One time I actually managed to make Kelcion faint (I had one of those one time only characters that follow you for a specific quest and they were 20 level higher than I was). I thought he was going to chase me back to base and rise from the dead lol.
Huh. I didn’t know that. It’s possible that there *were* lots but the Pokémon (I think maybe it was Samurott???) kept using earthquake. So it’s possible it just kept killing all of them before I saw them. Idk which pokemon game it was but it was the one for the 3DS.
That Monster House bit was both amazingly accurate and very shocking in that they all survived. 😂 I'm also very fond of the fact that the player character is Cyndaquil, which is who I almost always choose in Blue Rescue Team. Nice work, Jeremy!

The magma cavern section was so well done. It truly captured the horror of traversing into the home of Groudon as a team of unevolved Pokemon. I was expecting a gag of Bulbasaur spontaneously combusting near the magma and continuing on as if nothing happened while still on fire. The Monster Houses and bosses are why I have Blizzard and other moves that hit the entire room on every team member possible in the remake. It's also why I go into dungeons with my inventory half full of orbs/wands and healing items from the get-go.
This game was so fun as a child. Apparently I was a Blaziken, and with my buddy Feraligatr we went on an adventure. As Team Power (full caps). Once I learned mirror move, I became unstopable. Went looking for monster house ambushes. Move made me immune to damage while reflecting all their attacks back at them. XD Once I realised keckleon's ancient power was strong enough to one shot them back. I went looking for shops too. I did not purchase anything. ;) He called in all his friends to attack, but it was so satifying to beat them all as a pacifist - just keep walking, just keep walking.
Fun fact: November 17, 2005 is when Red and Blue Rescue Team released on the GBA and DS respectively, while March 6, 2020 is when Rescue Team DX released on the Switch.

3:15 ah yes the most Hellish Gimmick of all Mystery Dungeon pokemon had.... MONSTER HOUSE! (as long you don't have Spread Attack, Edit : Or Any Orb that can Counter the things)
To be fair most of the time you could avoid them at least in PMD 2 because the rooms were strangely filled with a lot of items. So either you could go around or you knew what your were stepping in. Also the orb teleporting you to the stair saved me so many times of those.
Only thing you were missing was hoarding Apples, seeds, and TMs like they were the last objects on Earth because of the nature of thinking "I'll need this later"

in DX when you steal from kecleon, a hoard of kecleon spawsn on the rest of the floor and chase you down like cuccos in zelda
Using Endeavor on a Kecleon is horrifying, because you get to see just how much HP they have

The magma cavern section was so well done. It truly captured the horror of traversing into the home of Groudon as a team of unevolved Pokemon. I was expecting a gag of Bulbasaur spontaneously combusting near the magma and continuing on as if nothing happened while still on fire.
The Monster Houses and bosses are why I have Blizzard and other moves that hit the entire room on every team member possible in the remake. It's also why I go into dungeons with my inventory half full of orbs/wands and healing items from the get-go.
And the remake doesn't have the floor-wide monster houses certain post-game dungeons get

This game was so fun as a child. Apparently I was a Blaziken, and with my buddy Feraligatr we went on an adventure. As Team Power (full caps). Once I learned mirror move, I became unstopable. Went looking for monster house ambushes. Move made me immune to damage while reflecting all their attacks back at them. XD Once I realised keckleon's ancient power was strong enough to one shot them back. I went looking for shops too. I did not purchase anything. ;) He called in all his friends to attack, but it was so satifying to beat them all as a pacifist - just keep walking, just keep walking.
Fun fact: November 17, 2005 is when Red and Blue Rescue Team released on the GBA and DS respectively, while March 6, 2020 is when Rescue Team DX released on the Switch.

To be fair most of the time you could avoid them at least in PMD 2 because the rooms were strangely filled with a lot of items. So either you could go around or you knew what your were stepping in. Also the orb teleporting you to the stair saved me so many times of those.
