First thing I did when I saw your hands and orchid, was check the date to see if somehow I loaded an older video! I did like the "flashback" style and certainly understand the time it takes to do the whole make-up thing.
All my orchids are upstairs as well. I don't have a bathroom upstairs, either, in my room, so I have to repot downstairs. I use my kitchen table to repot them, then bring them up once I am done. I use gallon Jugs to bring my water up stairs. So I prepare my water with fertilizer then bring them all up in a big bag and use my back to carry 6 gallons of water. You get used to it and like you said it is a workout.
We use stones instead of mulch too. It helps. But since it's under trees, we use tan stones. It's a thing in semi arid Texas, where March winds are insane too.
Happy New Year, Danni and team. 🎉 I always wet my sphagnum moss since I am afraid there will not be enough air space after I water and the sphagnum swells. I think the white rocks which are used as mulch reflect the heat so the soil does not get so hot which is probably why it burns your eyes - the rocks are reflecting the sun. I hope you find a good solution for your roses. 🥀. Here’s to a happy growing year. 😊
At the end of the video, you mentioned Root Rot and if you get it after a transplant, there is something else going on! That is so true!! I ended up with Mold happening repeatedly. I have no idea how on earth it happened…I bought new plants. The new plants are all I can think of. lol most are dead. I gave up trying to save them 😂. I still have no idea how to stop Mold.
As some that also has a season of high winds, mulch bark should not go flying from the wind on the ground. The only objects that I had flying during the windy seasons were the orchid in very light pots. I've since repotted those orchids in scoria which is a lot heavier. Once your citrus trees grow in more, that should form a bit more of a wind break, and shade.
In Florida here, pine bark mulch brings and harbors alll kinds of insects. And carpenter ants do as much damage as termites, but differently. Maybe they won't come into your home but they will destroy it.
Hi, our house doesn’t have wood in its construction, just brick, concrete and iron, so I’m not that worried about it. I’m more worried about normal ants going through insulation so I’m always on top of them. But I really don’t want 1 million carpenter ants on my terrace each night cos they are scary 🤭 I actually feel they are cute when they eat the nectar in the roses.. but the more of them, the less cute lol ps: I just learned these ants will kill and eat termites! Hmmmmmmm okeeee might work out after all lolol these are the only ants I told my husband we should leave alone lol I felt so bad trying to exterminate them.. and then I learned they eat bugs and sugars so we decided to let them be, they are not too many. Now I think I’ll be ok with them, it’s just bark chips they won’t make tunnels in chips I guess and the few I have are welcomed in the garden. Lol making courage 😂
@MissOrchidGirl yes, I saw that video yesterday. What a lovely yard ❤️ and I saw that you have way too much rock to be spray 🎨 painting. Bark mulch looks lovely. On another note: Orchids, Amaryllis and Hibiscus my favorites and you have all three . 💞 I have the bright yellow with red center Hibiscus and just had my first flower tea from it this last summer - delicious 😋
I can't figure out where the new growth on my oncidium is. I have a pseudobulb where a flower spike is blooming right now and right next to it a tiny pseudobulb with 2 little leafes but in 2 months it doesn't seem to have grown, instead, the pseudobulb with the flowers Spike puts out new roots and it seems a new leaf (I think it's a leaf, never saw something like that, its my First and Only oncidium alicera "Renaissance White") and yes i already watched the vid on oncidiums but still can figure It out. 😅😊 Anyone any suggestions?
Hi, I just got a UK plug adapter, we use the UK plugs here in Cy :) they work with our voltage too btw oh actually I forgot, when we moved here my husband cut the cables and connected a UK plug so I’m not using the adapter anymore :)
Hi Danny, I just wanted to warn you that carpenter ants will eat the wood in your house causing structural damage. They are similar to termites. Sorry for the bad news.

A new vid, finally, I missed you😊
Repots? Yes, please 🙏 ❤.

Great to see you Dani and always love a repot. 😊
I have to wait for spring to repot for me
I’ve started to see reblooms after following your advice!

Just a thought, but maybe you could spray paint your rocks to a nice accent color fit for your yard and thus save your eyeballs 😅
haha oh no spray painting rocks is not a good idea :))) I'm testing out some beds with pine bark mulch this year, hope it goes well!

Can you always expect to find some dead roots when repotting an orchid? Do you still you use RePotme Feed Me MSU fertilizer?
Hi, well yes almost always, some of the oldest roots will die off after a few years. Yes I do use the Feed me fert :)

Hey I had a a question I am wondering what the names of the slipper orchid with no patterns were called?
Danni sorry for off topic, but what did you do to go around the problem with the barrina grow lights uses a US plugg instead of a EU plug?
Hi, I just got a UK plug adapter, we use the UK plugs here in Cy :) they work with our voltage too btw oh actually I forgot, when we moved here my husband cut the cables and connected a UK plug so I’m not using the adapter anymore :)
@ You just made my day! I was so scared the lights would burn my house down if i didnt use a 120v to 230v transmitter first 😅😂
Oh no need :)) they do specify on their Amazon listing they work with 110 to 240, but double check just in case before purchasing!
I míssed so much e repoting vídeo
❤❤
Do you still have your birds?
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
