      I like my old watch- My wife tried to get me a fancy watch, I wore it until it broke and went back to the old style

    some great finds their . Friday in NY it rained so had it stopped traffic and took my internet out for a short time. solar storms slowing things down on internet but not too bad. just more buffering than normal. down to 480 DPI res at times. I know lots of venders their. it will be a good time. I go to the ones in NY and PA . they a lot of fun. all things radio and more. if you have old tube radio you can find tubes their . new CB/GMRS/MURS/SW and SDR radios their. too bad about MFJ going under. I got a old tube 23 CH CB from ham fest and it worked just needed a filter cap to take the hum out.

      It was lots of fun- I have had rain mess with our internet before. It is weird how a strong storm can do that.

    3:31 I had to listen to this twice, first time I thought you said, "I think I know what it feels like to be a cabbage [that: didn't really head this word] fell into the bathtub." I'm a little disappointed that it made more sense the second time.

      You can keep thinking it was a cabbage- I won't tell

    Keep an eye out for Josh that does HRCC. He's a good guy. Well I've never met him in person but his videos on ham are great. Happy hunting

      I think I saw him. There was so many people it was hard to keep track. I kept getting sidetracked with all the goodies.

    Looking forward to seeing what you picked up in future videos. What a great bucket list road trip! How does it compare to Shelby? Looks bigger.

    • @FarpointFarms
      @FarpointFarms  Місяць тому +1

      It is so much bigger than Shelby. They are anticipating 40,000 people to attend this year. Too bad the rain made everything so muddy. The drive to Shelby is much easier than this one.

      @@FarpointFarms Wow ! 40,000 people, that’s like going GFM Hiighland Games! Shelby may be an easier trip , but I’m betting the Dayton trip is an adventure all in itself. Safe travels

    I'm kind of surprised you went all the way to the Dayton Hamfest since you chose not to renew and let your amateur radio license expire.

    • @FarpointFarms
      @FarpointFarms  Місяць тому +7

      Why does that surprise you, I am pretty sure you don't need a license to have a hobby.

      I have a radio hobby, I have never had my Ham License been talking and listening since I was a child and I am 43 now... I listen to HAMs regularly don't need government permission for that... I have never been to a Ham Fest but always wanted to go to one... There's lots of channels where a license is not needed I have always felt I shouldn't have to pay for or ask for permission from the Government for something that should be a god given right to do just like the 1st and 2nd Amendment and honestly if was fought in court I feel amateur radio would fall under freedom of speech and it shouldn't be regulated but that's just my opinion... Although I have been recently considering getting my HAM tickets, I would like to learn the proper terms and lingo and learn Morris Code and be proficient with it and also would like to learn how to use repeaters and maybe even learn how to set them up... But the HAM license is not something I am interested in longterm just want to learn to use other things in case it's ever needed...
