Great video! Thank you!!!!❤ I grew strawberry popcorn this year. So much fun!!!! Your ears are all beautiful. Mine were...hit n miss. Got couple dozen harvested. Life is good, God is great!🍿
When we were younger, we would help my grandfather chuck dried corn. He taught us to use a corn cob to rub against the dried corn of the cob we were chucking. It made the work easier and saved our thumbs.
I grew popcorn for the first time this year. It has been harvested, cleaned and in the process of drying so I am impatiently waiting. I think it is a wonderful thing to do.
Perfect timing! I had forgotten last years harvest of our strawberry corn. I only got a pint’s worth but its time to find out if it’s worth it! We have 4 kids and so popcorn is the easiest cheapest snack to give. Great video! Thank you!
I usually cook for 6 to 8 people because I am alone. The thing is I have home care and I have very disabled hands so I have to tell them how to put together one of my dishes. This looks like I could make it myself because it doesn't seem to be any Jobing but I will quadruple the recipe. That way I can put the extras in my seal a meal bags and put them in my frozen food library in my deep freeze. That way I have a variety of meals to choose from when I don't have care because they leave at 5 p.m. and if we didn't cook that day I have many delicious things to choose from! Hello Mae Mae's daughter! I just subscribed to your mother's Channel and I find her a great comfort. :-)
Hi friend, I grew blue popcorn last year. Lots of it. I had a blister on my thumb from using the same method you use to remove the kernels. It wasn't until after the blister formed that I thought to use a spoon. Using the back side of a large tablespoon is a much more effective and less painful way to remove the kernels
First in, i love watching ALL of you videos, you voice and mannerism is so soothing. I have watched everyone of your vids and tell my wife this will me me in 3 years upon retirement. Can't wait! Yes I have superscribed and will keep watching!!!!!
Your wife is in trouble, I hope she likes cooking, and canning. I go from unemployed to retired in Jan 18, may have to change the channel name. Thanks for watching
The only difference is the government starts paying me back some of the money I let them borrow. Kind of like having a job again and receiving a paycheck.
You can't just use any corn that look's like this. You should plant the seeds from Baker Creek seeds to be sure what you are eating is safe. Thanks for watching.
@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 actually sir I have seen the exactly same corn in our sweet corn field, we grow sweet corn but still after harvesting them I see these type of some corns
Have you grown luffas before? My grandkids loved growing them! We cut them into pieces for presents for their moms for mother's day. They kept one for themselves!!
Thanks for this video. Sorry your thumb is suffering. It's so neat how you explain all the different things about the item. I'm wondering if you made most of your furniture. The table with the spider plants seems to have the same curved "X" design as your dining chairs. You are so good at all this, it's amazing. Thanks again for the fast upload, it's cool.
Pretty much all the furniture is made from wood harvested from my back yard. I made that little table to match the chairs, but the table and chairs are the last thing left we purchased years ago and will soon be replaced with a walnut set made from a back yard tree. Just waiting a couple more months for the walnut to be dry enough. Thanks for watching.
Making a dining table and chairs is a video I'll be looking forward to. Your skill set is amazing. I'm happy to watch any of your videos as you go thru all the steps and explain it all, including all the safety measures you do. I'm one who loves the smell of fresh cut wood. There is something so uplifting by that smell. Merry Christmas to you and your wife. Thanks!
Merry Christmas to you. Walnut is the only wood that I hate the smell of the sawdust. It is toxic and very irritating. I will make a video, but probably won't get started on it until next fall.
On my Black Dakota popcorn I use a table spoon to strip a few rows the length of the corn before using my thumb. The start seems the hardest on thumb to me. Thank you for the video.
Found this at a discount store. The best tasting corn and even better the next day.A great crunchy corn not like that airy yellow crap.Try it if you can find it.
My stepdad was a farmer and he grew five different kinds of corn but this is a new one on me I'm from Georgia but I've never seen any corn like this it just blows me away I would love to know how that happened please enlighten me I would love to know. Lights camera action.
All of the tiny popcorn varieties cannot be air popped because they fly everywhere! I use a popcorn called Tiny But Mighty it's an heirloom Heritage popcorn variety. I got mine from Amazon from the farmer of the popcorn. The prices are extremely high but if you look for him or his company will say Tiny But Mighty and you can get it for about a third of what everybody else is charging. It's so small that when it pops there is pretty much no hull.
I don't like the air poppers and just use a pan with some oil. It keeps the popcorn from drying out and adds a little flavor. I like this too much to switch and it's very easy to grow. Thanks for watching.

Do you order your seeds on the internet? If so, who do you use? Going to do a few raised beds here in SC this spring. BTW...hope you aren't snowed in. I grew up in Lowville, NY and they are getting hammered with snow.
I buy all my seeds from Baker Creek Seeds. www.rareseeds.com/ They have a great selection of heirloom seeds that I have had excellent luck growing. Just getting ready to place next summers order. Request a catalog from the website and order early because some of the new varieties sell out quickly. We had a little snow yesterday, but 24 hours of 30 - 50 mph winds.
Yes. You should keep it at a minimum of 25 feet from sweet corn and try to pick varieties that do not mature at the same time to be safe. Thanks for watching.
I grew these and they ended up quite long and thin as opposed to short and stubby. Been trying to pop them, with no luck (think I have the wrong type of pot).
This pops up nice and crispy and the shells are very thin and easy to eat. It tastes different to me, but I used to just buy the low cost stuff in a plastic bag. Thanks for watching
You have to check with all the seed companies and see if any will ship to India. It may not be allowed in your country and seed suppliers can give you that info. Thanks for watching.
