@@julietgover2832 I saw a recipe on here where they made their own jiffy pop bags!! They used extra strong foil-doubled and put half a stick of butter, salt, caramel candy and corn kernels in the bag, blew air into it with a straw then put in a skillet. It was great! Perfect Caramel Popcorn!
To take your caramel to the next level, start with dark brown sugar. Add the butter. Add heavy cream. Add sea salt to taste. Don't cook the caramel quite as long. It should be a light brown color, not dark brown... Thank you for sharing with all of us.
1 do not pour cold milk into hot caramel 2 spread the popcorn on tray before mixing with caramel 3 use cream instead of milk for better result 4 salt is the best friend of caramel (edit: very tiny bit ofc)
Yeah you generally don't want to 'cook' dairy. If it's on a stove, add it at the end and don't use more than the residual heat. It will just burn and curdle and separate if you fry it. - whether it's cheese, milk, cream, butter or yoghurt. These recipe channels are always scams
@@EsoteriaHealing Not really. Those things are only 'milk' by name. It's fine as flavouring in coffee but the chemical properties are different. They don't emulsify or bond in the same way.

I'd suggest an alternate method of popping the corn. Heat up the oil in a pot first, and put just 3 kernels of corn in. After the third kernel has popped, put the rest of the kernels in and remove it from the heat. (Don't turn the heat off.) Shake the pan to keep the kernels moving in the hot oil for 30 seconds, then return it to the burner. Continue giving it a little shake every few seconds or so. The kernels will start popping in rapid succession after a bit, and the whole thing will pop up so fast you will have very few burnt or partially-popped kernels.
@@barbarasanders7965 You don't, really. If a kernel has a weak spot or breach in the husk, it won't build up enough pressure to pop properly. It'll either just partially pop, or not pop at all.
Always great seeing a friend having success with an upload well done great video liked with a full 4:52 minute view as always from me - wishing you a lovely week all the best
Deceiving thumbnail. I clicked because it suggested you were adding the milk to the seeds and I was intrigued, turns out it was a lie. Also, milk with caramel is just dulce de leche, which is delicious but not so much with popcorn, I wouldn't recommend it. Plus it's super sticky, so forget about eating those with your hands.
No, dulce de leche is NOT caramel with milk. It’s a product made by very, very slowly caramelizing sweetened condensed milk. The color in dulce de leche is only partly from caramelized sugar, most of it is maillard reaction of the milk. That’s why it has a much less caramel-like flavor than its color would suggest.
@@tookitogo caramelizing condensed milk? Wtf are you talking about? What do you think condensed milk is?? Its sugar+fat+milk, and what does dulce de leche ingredients are? Sugar+fat+milk, and guess what is added on this video?? Sugar+fat+milk Also, dulce de leche is NOT made from condensed milk, and if its done that way, its not true dulce de leche, its just burnt condensed milk
Probably should have used the end picture, but thanks to 5 minute crafts, everyone's curious if it's actually doable. Also, clickbait is the name of the game for UA-cam. If you don't clickbait, you lose. Just be glad they didn't do a 5 minute crafts where they lie to you about the process.
Adding milk to caramelized sugar is how you make caramel sauce, this is basic af. Dulce de leche is when you heat milk with sugar TOGETHER over a long period of time, completely different preparation and result.
I make my Carmel for the corn with dark brown sugar, butter, salt and milk…. The brown sugar gives it a deeper flavor than just using regular white table sugar…
Caramel recipe was great I had better luck spreading out the popcorn in a large baking pan I found it easier to mix, and get a more even coating. Thank you for this recipe, it's become a family staple on movie night🎉
You made some mistakes. First, add the milk s-l-o-w-l-y as you stir, it won't get lumpy. Next, add an 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda just before the end of the cooking of the caramel, it will foam up, keep stirring, and it will spread more evenly on the popcorn. Next, You should be keeping your popcorn warm in a 250 (F) degree oven for about 10 minutes before you add the sauce, stir the sauce onto the popcorn, then put the bowl with the popcorn back in the oven for 10 minutes, take it out and stir it again. Do that at least three of four times. It dries the caramel sauce and helps it coat the individual pieces more evenly and the popcorn won't get soggy.
@@advarslanmalik Gordon ramsay has one... he doesnt need to post one. Also this aint your video so why feel ofended by a valid comment. You can literally skip the whole milk think by adding a teaspoon of baking soda.. also you don't stir caramel in its first stage, you let it melt. Do I need a video to show you when there is one by the most famous chef in the world?
There are two type of popcorn: Butterfly & Mushroom. For savory dry seasonings Butterfly is great. For heavier coating such as caramel, chocolate, or candies Mushroom works better. Mushroom is more like a ball and does not break into bits, the way butterfly does. Cheers!
I don't speak Spanish, so I can't comment, except to say some of your comments are harsh. Well anyway looks good to me. And I learned how to make popcorn not in a microwave, and a Carmel sauce, and going to try it. Thank you so much for the video.

I noticed how the caramel became clumpy after adding the cold milk. I’ll try warming the milk before adding it to keep the caramel from getting clumpy.
Look up how to make caramel then continue on with this video's steps. Been awhile, but I think you're supposed to remove it from heat, *then* add milk and vanilla before returning to let it reach soft candy stage.
@@cherylp.3347 I don't know if it was burnt, but maybe past caramel 'stage'. Just the sides are supposed to simmer for caramel. If entire surface is, it will be something else.
Pretty sure we saw about 4 different batches throughout all those cuts lol. First one was after the sugar burnt, another after the cold milk clumped and probably ruined the caramel. Possibly another one a little later (look at the stuff stuck to the sides, it looks like the pan was washed between cuts) and whatever is poured on the popcorn at the end? Is too dark. It's either burnt, or something else entirely.
@@linearparadox9409 thank you. Glad I wasn’t just seeing things lol, because I thought the same. Not that it matters, these things happen. I’m keen to try it myself , with some tweaking, cream, not milk.

2. Gloved hands work the best for distributing the carmel evenly on the popcorn.
