Gutting, Chopping, and Prepping the Rear Fender // VTX Bike Build Episode 4

We are finally to the part of this build where things are going to get interesting. The rear fender gets removed, chopped off, and the custom fender will start to take shape. I'm thinking about cutting back my 1800R fenders, I'm liking the F look more and more these days, and it shouldn't be terribly difficult to create a nice, neat, modern look with all that metal.

I like it so far. Why do the fender in 2 or 3 pieces? Why not 1 maybe 2?

For me to get to correct curvature that I want, it looks like I'm going to end up with 3 pieces. Could be that I'm a complete amateur at this process, but thats how it seems to flow at the moment.

Goheen Cycles I think it can be done in 2 pieces with a weld down the middle. Pick your spot from the center where you measured to 5 1/4 I think it was. Do your stretching there and smooth it out. Then shrink it on the edge to get the other part of the curve. If you can follow what I'm referring to. See the beading video from Ron Covell. I think its that one. But there is more than 1 way to skin a cat. I would think only 1 weld seem would be faster and less inclined to fail.
