Thanks for the video! I worked for M&W Gear when the first Earthmaster was introduced back in the mid 1980s. Have some great memories of field demoing the first models.
When the operator lowered the ripper into the ground i noticed there was no smoke coming from the exhaust. That tells me the engine is still strong and in good shape an i don't think that tractor knew that ripper was behind it.
That tractor would be a gem with a makeover inside and out. It runs slick as a button and sounds awsome 👍and Jason looks like a kid in a candy store running the steiger
I would like to farm. Unfortunately it is an expensive endeavor even on a small scale. Maybe some day I will have chance. Getting to run the tractors is a dream come true in itself.
We have a Steiger Panther ST310. She's the main work horse doing the chisel plowing, disking, cultivating, and sometimes rolling or dragging. Then we have a J. I. Case 1170 for planting and moving grain boxes around. A J.I. Case 930 for baling, auger, and moving boxes. I love all those tractors.

The blue Fords used primarily the 903 Cummins set from 300-350 hp. By the time the fords were coming off the line the green stiegers were using either inline 6 Cummins or Cats. I think the 903’s were a lot cheaper hence it made the Fords real competitive price wise. The 903’s were an over square engine which meant the bore was larger than the stroke, so they reved anywhere between 24-2600 rpm. At that rpm the piston speed was slower than in a big six with a long stroke however the valve train was running 25% faster. I’m curious what kind of axles they are using on that tractor they don’t look like the Raba axles that were and are used now. Btw there were lots of 903’ used in tractors, versatile, massey as well and they did lots of work and were real reliable for the most part.
This one looks very similar to it's Hungarian cousin, Rába Steiger 250 and Rába Steiger 300. They were both licensed by Steiger, that's why the Steiger is in the name, altough it was made in the Rába factory located in Hungary, which also created train wagons. This tractor can pull a ripper twice that size--well twice that width.
brian zybura no it can’t. It’s too light and not powerful enough. It takes ~450 to 500 plus to pull a 9 shank. No one makes a 10 shank
