    Thanks so much. Will be adjusting my bike folding latch immediately.
    I had this exact XP 2.0 that unlatched while riding just this week. It was the most petrifying experience I've had riding any bike. I couldn't understand why it happened 2nd time in the same trip. Especially since I had double-checked the 'secondary' latch.
    I would hardly say it was from wear in my case. I estimate it has folded 15-20 times in the 10 months I've owned it.

      That's a scary experience, hopefully you can keep them tight now 👍

    Same stem latch as the Wisper 806. Thanks for the advice.

    Hi, I put a Black Zip tie over the handlebar latch just snug enough I can slip it off in case I need to unlatch it. But insure it will not allow the latch to open. 😎

    When riding over minor road bumps, I was getting an annoying rattling that seemed to be coming from the handle bar stem latch area. I just tightened up the latching mechanism as you described in this video and, VOILÀ, no more rattling. Many thanks, Chris.

      Good to hear Mark! Rattling noises can be super frustrating and loose latches can be a safety issue.

    • @markwagner6353
      @markwagner6353 2 роки тому +1

      Well. . . I declared victory over the ratting too soon. The aggravating clacking was coming from the upper end of the battery rattling against the battery case. Solved it by sticking a few coin sized pieces of fuzzy Velcro on the bottom and two sides of the upper end of the battery. Now it’s padded and the clacking is gone. Evidently this is a known issue and lectric has a silicone shim to alleviate the problem. I may get it if the Velcro ever wears out. Anyway you may want to add that to your knowledge base.

    I don't have a lectric but do have a generic folding bike and have always thought about the scenario of either the folding stem opening or the main fold opening on a ride. My bike isn't as thick as this lectric but the latch is pretty much similar, i'll be going to check all my screws before my next ride. I've actually ordered a new ebike that isn't a folding model because when riding 30mph, i rather not be on a folding bike.

    • @PedalWithPower
      @PedalWithPower  2 роки тому

      I hear ya, Charlie. Good idea to double check your folding latches and for that kind of speed, a non folding ebike sounds safer.

    Just did my bike before I watched this video, oops. But on the handle bar I saw a set screw that looked like a good idea to loosen first before you turn the black bar out, then tighten the set screw back up. Not sure if there all built that way or not. Thanks

    I understand how latches work, I'm paranoid knowing all thats keeping my Bike from folding is that little locking screw, if I'm riding rough trails and shear that pin my bike folds over a big bump or small jump, also the stem latch can shear from the same actions, I never fold my XP to transport, I'd like Lectric to make a non folding Aluminum frame XP with a drop out battery
