- In a world where space is a premium commodity, Renault brings in space in the sub-4m category minus the premium. That's without the premium pricing mind you but definitely not without a premium feel. The Triber in its form brings the utilities of an MPV inside while trying to look like an SUV on the outside. The 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine though, could be the only chink in an otherwise solid amour. The people who criticize this car don't know the purpose of it. It is a 5 seater with 625 L bootspace or a 5 seater with 2 emergency seats. Accept it every car owner has felt the need to transport more than 4 people in his 5 seater car, so instead of stuffing 4-5 people in the back seat, the TRIBER provides a better option

Just two questions:
1. 7 people with AC on, climbing up a flyover. Is that possible!
2. With such short Engine Bay and Rear passenger seating almost on the Rear window, how safe it will be (god forbid) in case of an accident. Curious about the Crash test results.

Probably crash rating will be 0 or 1. But these cars are meant for city use only.
Being a 7 seater it will mostly be bought by travel agencies which will obviously take them to the highways....
Safety was and will never be a priority for cars like these... U just need to hope that you aren't in one of these things on a highway especially in the 3rd row 😛
Hillol Saha the car is safe as long as it has a touch screen and nimbu mirch on the front .
I think if maruti Suzuki Omni can carry 7 people ....with 35 bhp ...a 72 bhp car can also do that
This is going to make the Indian market a swift twirl across all the manufacturers
Now all of suzuki engineers will be trying to fit a third row in WagonR and make an extended tin box

It's a great practical n pocket friendly car.
i noticed the location is goa... my question is how on earth you were able to find such good roads in goa at the moment... i live here in goa its filled with potholes.. anyways kudos for making such awesome content everytime
Well it is one of the most practical car but the engine seems little odd. They should have atleast putted a 1.2L engine.
Then the price for top of the end line would have been close to ertigas territory. This would have made the customers choose Ertiga over triber. It's just brilliant marketing by Renault. They really do have a good team taking inputs from the Indian ground.
I guess the engine bay has been cut down to fit only a 1 ltr engine as it seems jam packed. So fitting a bigger engine seems a Herculean task. I feel it is targetted at family with kids and in city commute. With a little one at home and family, not having many highway trips done by me I feel it suites my needs the best.

Yeah that's true a 1.2ltr Engine would have been the perfect fit to make it a complete package.
Honda for the same foldable seats charged too much premium for normal 1.2litre car utterflop Jazz atleast in Hyderabad.
Xcent, Zest, Swift, Figo aspire(even though its a flop) and even Hondas own Amaze gave a good 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻 to Jazz.
Triber nailed it now. Only gripe is its 1 litre engine but nonetheless a good one.
If its 1.2 litre engine then it would be a next Xiaomi in car segment 😎😎😎

@@pranaviyer971 The jazz is really a flop model. We have tried to buy it very badly but Honda gave us no chance to buy it any way in terms of pricing, value and even Showroom guys are not even interested in selling it and are more concerned to take off for the day 😂😂😂😂.
Way better VFM products are available at that time.
If you ever come to Hyderabad, you will see almost 0 jazz on roads. Hyderabad roads are filled with all types of cars ranging from Nano, Hyundais, Toyotas, Benz, BMWs, Jaguars, Audis, limo etc and even Buggati had its tyres rolled as far as i remeber 😎

Great review as always with crisp detail. Speaking of Triber is itself a very good package overall and actually a budget proper 7 seater where one can seat 7 passengers.
Double variable valve timing should come in handy for that 1 ltre engine. Would be great if Renault slaps turbo & the power figures reaches to descent 100 hp

It seems the Renault has focused on design and luxury when it comes to this car but has skimmed on specifications as the engine is quite weak for an SUV class vehicle and the tyres seem very small for the size of the car.
if i do buy the renault triber i think i will still take off the 3rd row seats and make it a 5 seater with HUGE boot space
having owned a renault.. i will never let anyone make the same mistake i made.. renault has the worst after sale service.. they sacrifice quality for affordability.. my kwid had ecu issues, which led to engine stalls and brake failure at high speeds.. but renault even after acknowledging the issue, did not replace anything or work on it.. i am not the only one who had this issue.. many have complained about the same issue on the kwid fb group.. i had to finally sell the car with a depreciation of 25% after just 9 months..
well in every car every one says it could have been better....but well i think this is the perfect car according to our budget....and yes it will deffinetly hit the market like his younger and big brother kwid and duster

Wow this car is good choice under 7lack rupees cool . This is a good car from renault. Yes it miss some features but it is a great car. I wish they had added nice looking wheels and automatic climate control but it still practical car for a family.

Good Product! As of now the car comes at a killer price & great features but how long the 1lt engine will survive no idea. At least 1.2 would have been better. But again this would have added more cost.

So this is a request totally out of the box. I have requested a lot of channels and auto shows but none could help.
I use a wheelchair as I am a quadriplegic (spinal cord injury) and I am paralyzed.
I used a TATA WINGER for about 8 years which I recently sold.
I am looking for a car, MPV or a 7 seater in India which could be useful for people with disabilities.
Ideally, I would love for my wheelchair to fit in my car whilst I am sitting on it. However, if not that, could u suggest which car I should buy where shifting in and out of the car is easy(Remember, I can't even stand), low entry & exit, wide doors, good head space, boot space and a 7 seater.
Toyota hiace would fit in but it's too expensive and isn't available in India yet.
I'd be grateful if u could help.

Max space becoz smaller bit under power 1Ltr engine. If Proper 1.2 or 1.5 Ltrs engine would be used cabin will automatically shrink. I doubt about pulling power and bit under performance with full load of 7 persons

Its not a streched kwid, kwids platform is CMFA, Tribers platform is CMFA + ,its not only have more wheel base its wider and taller...And nobody exept you use the term VAN to describe it, come on man ..why degrade a product at the starting of a review ?
Add a + and it becomes a different platform? VW mqb platform has anything from small hatchback to big SUV...does that make it different platform. All are same platform. Stop falling for marketing terms and look at things technically. And it is a Van, with lesser power than my motorcycle.

You can expect power similar to Datsun go+ engine...but triber is absolutely 👌👌👌👌 I have test driven it... Suspension and comfort is way better than Hyundai car ...the interior looks premium like Hyundai nothing that cheap.. only thing is engine noise and harshness at high revs..I'm waiting for AMT

They almost got it right, except for the engine. I cannot imagine an under powered 1L engine pulling(more like dragging) 6-7 people along. Indians are practical but they also look for driving pleasure which frankly isn't going to happen with this.
