Hi Kyle can you please tell me what are those little clamps you used to clamp the handle scales on
Hi Kyle, I made a knife and submitted pictures, but watching Wengel's video, he said you needed to follow everyone here on yt and on Instagram to qualify. Is this necessary?
Hi Kyle, you are an amazing artist, what price would you sell a knife like this with CPM-Magnacut blade steel for?
I love watching your process and your explanations are excellent.
BUT, it's super difficult to concentrate on your voice with that horrible loud music constantly blasting away ☹️
More like "My expensive gadgets made a knife in one day. And I did the light work!"
Joking joking. Sweet video
Even his "two day build" looks better than most people's "masterpiece" 😊😊
may 24 hour
I just want to say, Kyle, that demonstration on exactly the effects of too hard vs tempered, was so immeasurably useful. I've always wanted to see an easily digestible demonstration of the difference it makes and this truly was that. It's impressive that just a little softness, makes it so much more real world usable.
Anybody else find all his videos incredibly calming, informative, entertaining with a splash of antics thrown in or just me? haha
I feel the exact same way. He has calmed me down and taught me patience in my own knife making. How long does it take to make a knife? As long as it takes.
Phenomenal work as always sir!
That hits all the buttons with me. Clipped drop point, satiny finish and the scales... the color is really deep. 5 stars.
Go Team Royer!
the nod of approval essential foe the success of any project.
I love the 'crunch time' background music. It's too bad about missing the deadline, but I think sacrificing the deadline in favor of quality is the right call. The handle looks great, so does the blade(I love the shimmer on the maple)- great job!
Whaaaat!! Even a one day knife build from you is crazy beautiful. You're just insane man. Wish I could afford to take your course and have the tools to attempt a build like that for real. You're just on another level with it.
He tried to do that in one day but ended in two days, still great knife though
Yeah I realized that.
the amount of control you have with your hands is insane. I'm a relatively new maker and seeing you free-hand the plunges to shaping the handle to free-handing that final cutting edge when sharpening is jaw-dropping.
Hey thanks.
Merry Christmas.
Its hard for you to do things a day because your work is super quality, paying attention to detail and going above and beyond in every little aspect takes time. Your work is super high quality and more like artwork. I have mad respect for your work, you truly are an artist.....
I only recently started Blade smithing and I love it. Have only done a few knives but I have been satisfied with them in general. THEN! I see what Kyle does in basically two days, how clean and perfect it is. And you realize there are massive levels to this game and im just scratching the surface!!!!
Spectacular Cape Town. You’re heading in the right direction my friend. You may want to check out our online courses at learnknifemaking.com. We have courses for the beginner, novice, and the pro. We are in your corner. Keep Forging On
Dad
Beautiful piece of steel, with scales worthy of the blade. Looks like a green curly maple. Very well done, congratulations.
I would love to see you make a tanto with your style and flare!
It's a pleasure watching a person who REALLY knows what he's doing making knives. Do you ever sell knives like this? I realize you make super high end stuff, but as a disabled, OLD, Meat cutter, I will never own one of those knives. I held a knife in my hand for 8 hours a day, for 42 years, so I truly appreciate such quality. Thanks for making these videos. Passes my over abundance of time. Have a great day!
I was wondering how you could bring your method down to a one day build. I particularly enjoyed the work in the front end of the handle scales. Stellar work mate.
Buy a cheap propane forge off Amazon.
Use Old junkyard leaf springs, mower blades.. heat em and bang em out on a solid chunk of metal, and heat up an Quench in warm.. well old motor oil works, quench oil, or something like that..
Just try your hand..
It’s amazing how much hand work you put into this knife. It takes YEARS of experience to be able to execute something like this.
I literally watch knife makers videos daily have seen thousands taking notes and you by far are my favorite your work is amazing
A real fusion of art and 100% utility has a fascination. BRILLIANT.
It looks sooo good! All the little details take it to the next level!
Simple yet elegant. Beautiful handle material as well.
That knife is B-E-A-UTIFUL! The scales take a simple blade design to a whole other level. I would love to see more blades like this. Kudos to you, Sir!
Awesome blade! That handle is great as well, maybe a red g10 liner to make the green pop a little.
Kyle, you are a pleasure to watch. Your genuine excitement about knife making is contagi🙂ous. You have taught me to have so much more patience. Your skill level is amazing. Probably the best I've ever seen. Keep making the videos sir.
I am impressed. I thought you were not able to do something without your usual incredible level of perfection. it was cool to see how easy you make something that is probably still a $550 knife.
Wow, una hermosa pieza, digna de un 1er lugar en una competencia. Simetría, sin detalles, armonioso y lo más importante, totalmente funcional.
Felicitaciones, saludos desde Chile.
I did the same thing on the front of a knifes handle I did for a local historic blacksmith society auction. My buddy bought it and loves it. Inlaid the handle with leather strips. Favorite handle I've done so far . Like it even more than the keyhole bolster chefs knife I made the father in law .
A "quick" fun, mess-around knife for Kyle..is a $800 smoke-show blade!
At least that's what I think it could be worth having a true MasterSmith make it!
Great job Kyle💪😎👍
Your work is always out of this world. I get so excited whenever I see a new video of yours posted!
That was an awesome build! Thank you for the video! I really like the tapered handle! Can't wait for the next one! Y'all be safe and have a blessed day 🙂
As always, Kyle, great video! Informative and fun. I always get so inspired to get out in my shop and start a new project each time I finish watching one of your videos. Thanks!
@KyleRoyerKnives.- Hello Kyle. You asked me to txt you back?
I really enjoyed watching you make a "simple" build, in relatively short time. No fancy billet construction, just steel. I know, you are maticulous to the bone - a true nerd -, that is your hallmark, and I like that.
But it is great to see you do "down to earth" things now and agsin, too. Still high quality. Great video, beautiful knife - at a level af "fancynes" and (presumed) affordability where it would be a joy to use on an every day level.
👍👍👍
Satin blade and tang with the polishd scales eally helps that handle pop!
You are a real phenomenon in your field my dear.
I have to say, I really like clip points on knives. Your design profiles are always great 👍
I agree with you, the handle shape is really good, adds that something extra to the overall look of the knife. Top job 👍. Regards from Down Under.
Hello Kyle,
thank you for the very interesting and informative video.
Once again I learned a lot.
You are and will remain a great artist.
Thank you for showing.
Best regards
Holger
@KyleRoyerKnives.- Hallo Kyle,
I don't know, what you meen?
Thanks for your answer.
Best regards
Holger
Luv'it Kyle! Especially the tiger grain and color in the scales! Thank You, J
Beautiful handle looks like you're watching the matrix 😎 an easy build for a man who turns out the calibre of knives and swords
Loved how you demoed the hardness of the blade vs toughness. Just subscribed.
I really need the same kind of plunge line attachment, it's so convenient.
Stunning knife , you make it look so so easy .
That is a very nice bushcraft knife. As always, a beautifully constructed knife.
I love the handle shape and the tapered tang
Great blade finish. Like it. But more I like spending hours in sanding it. Deep in meditation. ))))
Awesome work mate, even in 48 hours that's one hell of a knife!
I love the knife handle, it's look like a shrimp from the top. Amazing
on the topic of hardened brittle metal. my dad forgot to temper a blade once, it had a little deformation he attempted to get out with a hammer. as soon as he tapped it, it shattered like glass lol. little metal shards flew everywhere.
This turned out great!
Do I smell a Kyle Royer everyday series production knife? :D Even in two days, your work is still top tier Sir, love watching your videos!
NNnnnnice One!!!!! Great presentation - Thank You! Lots of great info! I'm for the build along!!
Wonderful, as I always said, just precise, clean, beautiful, perfect and always surprising, video and the brilliant craftsman, nothing more to say, his objects and knives are, of art value, well done and respect from old BG.
I enjoy watching you work Kyle, your a perfectionist!
I’m a bit of an ocd nut job but crunching numbers Kyle.. if you made 5 of these a week you could make 5000 a week!! Your abs calibur knives are just breathtaking but these edc style knives made by a master smith!! People would pay and it would possibly take some of the burden off those huge three month projects…. These would sell at a thousand dollars or more and the demand is there… even without hand rubbed finishes.. he’ll you could do a stonewash and people would buy them… there’s something about the lines of your work.. it’s instantly recognisable if you know knives. Like Bruce bump, Jerry Fisk, loveless, quesenberry… your stuff is mind blowing… you can see the attention to detail… belissimo!
What a beautiful knife! I really enjoy your videos, the presentation, timing and editing is superb.
Hey thanks William
Lol.. one day and it’s better than most custom makers stuff! You are knife god! Come on! That green maple and the hand rub satin. The swedge and the plunges just perfection…. I know many who would pay hundreds for it.. maybe $1500
HaHa when Dad came to see what was going on @6:15 😄
that smile is worth a lot !
shape of the handle is really good to grab i love the knife
Thanks
Much more interesting than I expected!
Você e um dos melhores cuteleiro do mundo que Deus te abençoe sempre
I really like how that came together. Have you made a throwing knife?
Well done thank u for showing everyone about hardness
Great video, great backing track.
Nice work mate, still informative. Good time management on a single day build. Thumbs up
Almost single day lol
Top notch quality my friend 👍
Beautiful !
Holy crap, that knife is amazing
Wouldn’t mind seeing more quick little projects like this. 🔪🗡⚔️
soo nice to watch n the background music is so nice.............thanks
You do some really nice work my man. It would have taken me a lot longer, but I've always worked slow.
Man tried to make a standard knife in one day, FAILS BEAUTIFULLY!!
Kyle, is that knife for sale? I might be able to afford one piece of your beautiful knives. Probably not, but I'm hoping for the chance.
Another great project!
Congrats.
Yes! get it in production!
Beautiful work. Thank you, for bringing us along
Love the handle scales!!! Reminds me of like a high end flame maple top PRS guitar.
Fantastic. Love your work.
That's a real beauty. To me, a tapered tang is the most important part of a custom belt knife.
Thanks for the video
Beautiful, beautiful ...👏👏👏
You’re such a perfectionist. Truly a master of your craft and easily my favourite UA-camr. Bravo man.
Your 2-day knife is one of the coolest 😎🤙
First, I just recently subscribed. You have a great sense of humor and are the best blade smith I've ever seen. I'm not a blade smith but I've watched "Forged in Fire" since its debut which has me interested in the craft. I don't think the Forged in Fire format necessarily proves which contestant is the best blade smith. Rather, it shows who can accomplish the most in the least amount of time, given some of their whacky constraints, and survive the tests better than their competitors. Your channel demonstrates what is capable within the craft. My question for you is: "if you could make any changes to the Forged in Fire program format that would better reveal the best blade smith, what would those changes be? Might be a video-worthy subject.
They did a great job of covering some common challenges we all run into a the shop
Keep Forging On my friend
Dad
Beautiful blade
I've heard of Torching the Back, or "blue backing" with edge in water..
very pretty, especially your handle shape.
Holy that was sick!!! You make so cool knifes!!!
I would love to see you make the two handed sword from the Nazgûl for a bit of fantasy with your level 100 smithing.
Kyle you have made awesomeness
That sure is a pretty knife! Imana make one!
beautiful knife and handle
Awesome build Kyle 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks
I haven't heard the tune for macarena in a long time! Sweet knife bro!!!
Love your work Kyle. More! I want more!
Someone here believed Kyle was going to make a knife in a day? I DINT... he's a perfectionist he can't finish a knife in a day. Great work as always.
Been a long time subscriber of RedBeardOps. Needless to say, I'm also your subscriber now.
Hey thanks Divine. Glad you’re here
Dad
I love watching your videos. great work!
You're too much of a perfectionist to do a 1 day build haha
What a knive! I want it so bad... 🥰
Beautifull work! Classic OCD. Everything has to be perfect even if it takes twice as long. Better take your time and do it right than rushing and botching the knife.😁
Travis has his surface grinder attachment for the TW-90 dialed in.
That knife is absolutely sick, wish I had the tools to make one.
Thanks Kyle but I live I Australia, love your skills.
Can you do a quick tutorial on tapering a tang with a surface grinder attachment? Or is it in any of your knife maker pluse videos?
