Excellent product. Very instructive video. We were looking at an expensive re-seal until I saw this video and ordered SSS. I did the job in 30 minutes. Bergstrom Industries Super Silicone Seal comes with the poly fleece needed in a 1/2 gallon kit for around $100. WAY less expensive than a re-seal.
I can not find any real world reviews of this product other than your videos. Are there any long term repairs that can provide some feedback? I am interested I have 3 skylights that are leaking form their glass that have been caulked and recaulked.. So before I go about using this id love to hear from some folks that had your help.
I have had a small, intermittent leak on one of a four-gang Velux set of lights. Thought I can’t duplicate the leak wit a garden hose, a moderate thunderstorm will produce drips at the bottom corner. I just applied the seal and felt today to see if that is the solution. One concern I have, which was not directly addressed in the video, is the required space between the masking tape and the felt. I’m afraid I was not careful to keep them separated and am worried about what’s going to happen when I remove the tape… (Regarding another comment that suggests it is better to disassemble the skylight and replace the glass-to-frame seal. I would agree, but my version of the Velux does not offer any disassembly opportunities w/o taking the entire skylight out) 🤞🏼Sure hope this works !
8 months later.... The Super Silicone Seal repair has helped in my case, but there is still a small leak from the top of the Velux glass skylight. There are a number of comments on another of his skylight repair windows suggesting that this is the wrong approach for glass skylights. I am going to re-do the felt+seal at the top of the offending skylight to see if this style repair can actually do the job.
What this video is not saying that this DIY is applicable to singekl story houses and younger people. The use of Super Epoxy Sealer is the the "key ingredient". Paint should not be used instead. The process shown is the right process. of
There's three screws or rivets on the short ends and four on the long sides. Remove those, remove the top frame, clean the weep holes, and replace weather stripping or sealants (whichevers there) . Reinstall skylight glass.

Robin, how far did your 1/2 gallon get you? Was that enough to seal 1 skylight/ or perhaps a couple? Thanks
A big thank you for your video explaining the process - you do such a good job of showing what to do.
what is the brand name of the super silicone deal , where do you buy it please?

Very good job. But are skylights worth having?
Love watching your stuff. Great Job.
What do you do for sub 35 degree weather? I’m in philly getting a ton of calls for skylights
will the Super Silicone Seal adhere to fully cured (previously applied) Super Silicon Seal?
Great videos. What products are they please? What should I buy in the Uk? Also what’s the fleece exactly? Is fibreglass ok? Thanks
Where can I buy fleece please ??
Wow amazing repair very easy 👍🏼🥰😘
Thanks sweetheart, if it wasn't for you, these videos would not be possible
Trying to find fleece, silicone super seal.

How long do u think repair will last?
Why didn’t you take the frame off first?
Thanks for your video! I have question. - can this method used for chimney chase cap repare. New is around 700 dollars.
Brilliant! Just what I needed!
What is the fleece strips you use? Thanks!

My skylights leaking between the roof and the skylight itself
Good job thanks
two caulking failures later... I finally have been "shown the light" (literally AND figuratively!)
when did you use the lacquer cleaner??
:44 he said you can use the lacquer or crud cleaner. He went with the crud cleaner, so he didn't use the lacquer cleaner
Can I use drywall tape instead of the fleece between the liquid seal? I cant find the fleece at any hardware store.
Order everything from Bergstrom Industries
Good work! 👍🏼
Thanks POPS. I love your support

Very cool
Thanks
I just disassemble the skylight and clean it up. Replace the factory sealants and reassemble. Your way creates a problem over time.
You notice his seems to have a permanent seal. There's no screws to remove the top flashing. How would you disassemble that. Mine looks just like his

Anyone except my wife.
If I do this to a client, he will smear this black silicone all over me
So he chooses leak?
