I have this bike and have never slipped around on the seat in jeans. Even in an emergency brake. I also find the seat very comfortable. I've ridden for an hour and a half so far and no problems at all. I did change the muffler to a slip on which added better sound and more HP.
What about putting a flexible front fender extension that would hang down low enough to cover the radiator, a protection for the radiator would also be good. Agreed a rear plastic inner fender would provide more protection and keep your bike cleaner
Thanks for the great review, I'm looking for a commuter bike and I ran into your video looking up the NC700. What camera did you use to film this? Do you have an external mic built into your helmet? It sounded great while you were riding at high speed.
I did a test drive on the cv700x, its a really weird experience. Loads of power in the low rev ranges but the red line starts at 7000 rpm. Not exactly a conventional engine. Very nice for in the city though
Great review! Very informative. Regarding your comment at 00:40, regarding off-road tires, please see the review by Wes Siler at Ride Apart. He used the NC700X for serious off-road riding in Nevada. The bike performed very well due to low centre of gravity, low-end torque, and excellent fuel economy.
This is probably something I would want as a first bike unfortunately the class of motorcycle license I have only lets me drive until 400cc and anything over that you need to take another test which is a lot harder and they use heavy bikes! They should rate classes not just by cc's but HP like they do in Australia.
Nice videos man. i have enjoyed your language to. I am considering Honda nc700 X as a first bike after i watched your videos. But Yamaha Mt-07 is tempting also. I have a request. Can you do a review on harley Street 750?
I watched a couple of your videos today. Unless I'm mistaken, it seems like in one video you were riding a white NC700X and the other, you were riding a red NC700X. Am I wrong about this?
That is all nice, but is there a review on the Honda XL700V Transalp in the future...... i like to know what you think of it. Because i like the style and think of buying one in the future.... Thanks and keep it up. Your Vids help me to understand motorcycle much more....
Hi, I have a CBF125 now, but I would like to sell it and buy a NC700X. Just like you. :) How do you find to ride this after the CBF125? What is different? What about the acceleratino? Thanks, I'd appreciate it!
Thankyou for the great review,I have this bike and its very good indeed!.Just one thing i have to disagree with you about though is, that the engine is NOT half the engine of a CAR.Its been designed and built using the same technology that Honda uses in its car engine design section, but it is not a car engine ,nor half a car engine, its a Motorcycle Engine designed for fuel efficiency rather than high power output. This is unique in Motorcycle engines.Nevertheless this is a Motorcycle engine .
Awesome review, I'm also portuguese, so I caught on to your accent immediatly, I have the same haha, and I also own and NC700x. And I "downgraded" from a CBR 900 RR zx10rgsxr crotch rocket thingy, like you so well put it. The thing is that with my 900 i could never explore the machine in the road properly and the largest trip I was able to fathom was to the next petrol station. With this one I feel I can go anywhere. It's a great, fun and useful bike, a bike for the real world!
Thanks for the video, are you still happy with the NC 700X, i am stuck deciding between the new KLR 650 or the New NC 750X any help please.Mainly adventure riding with long trips. Not heavy off roading.
I'm at the point where 2 of the best bikes I could get include this and the new CB500 range. If I got one I would have it for a long time. Which would you go for? :P
Nice review mate your english is much better than my Portugese.Just curious as far as pillions go how old /weight is your son ? Is he comfortable for reasonable distances ? Really enjoyed this, some things are international we have F'n dumbasses here as well.
Awesome video. I can't beleive honda engineers didn't do something about the radiation. Especially since this bike is built to go off road a little bit. I would try to do some search before i would install some protection over that radiation. Maybe it needs to be naked, so it can breathe ? I am clueless. Please, let me know if you get some info about that. This bike is so polyvalent, and it has a kick ass look. Frankly, the only thing i dislike is how the radiation is left with no protection !
+pinctinc there's no way you can steer without doing it, maybe you don't realice you're doing it but otherwise you can't turn, unless you're under 15/20 km/h but you're also using some cointersteer
Hi, i am from Brasil!! I have a NC700x and i'm linking it a lot!! Congratulations for your job here! You are invited to join in our group in the facebook. Honda NC700x Brasil.
Great review!! Well done! Hope the "family jewels" are still intact.lol Really I enjoyed your wit - and from a bitter old British fart like me that's a BIG compliment! Do I want that NC50BHP thingy? No. Not after your comments, which I trusted - so again, well done for a good honest review. But, my partner is itching to trade in his ageing 600cc Silverwing and I'll tell him to stick this, or at least the DCT version of it on his audtion list. So, thanks! (I like flipping the flippy things too!)
One of the most helpful reviews on youtube, well done.
Got my A2 licence last week, this bike will be my go-to for sure

Great review Cager. reading reviews before a test ride and found your review most informative and genuine.

If you had it to buy all over again, would you do so, or would you go for the CB500X instead?
i had booth bikes, the 500 is horible at low revs compared to the 700,

Excellent review, thank you!

You should do more bike reviews. this was nice.

"ahh! slam with the family jewels right in here!" LOL.
Nice review, thanks! One of these might be replacing my V-Strom in a couple years.
do you use counter steering?:)
You mean that thing every vehicle on two wheels use?
+pinctinc there's no way you can steer without doing it, maybe you don't realice you're doing it but otherwise you can't turn, unless you're under 15/20 km/h but you're also using some cointersteer

You live in Portugal. Nice!
That front tyre is on the wrong way around.
no, front tires look always like thaz to expell water when you decelerate
front tires are more susceptible to braking forces
Very nice review, thanks.
