Well Done Glen! Most of these have affected me in one way or another over the past 70 years! I always try to adhere to the advice that you are giving in this video for these particular shot! Thanks for the help you are giving me and others as subscribers to your channel!
The last two tips are golden. You don’t even need a swing change. I used to leave shots short before I came to terms with the fact that a 132-yard nine iron is much better than a 152-yard nine iron that rarely made the green. And don’t get me started on chipping through tiny gaps 😢
Hey Glen and Steve, except video guys. As always well explained and demonstrated. I know all of these issues have affected me over the years. Thank you for the timely reminder. Cheers Joe
I've also stopped playing high spin balls off wedges and use moderate spin balls so i don't get that mysterious hit and stop ball that comes up short. Spin sounds great but when you can actually spin a ball it can haunt you.
Excellent observation Bill. You definitely need more commitment with the flight when using a high spinning golf ball. Pros and cons for both types of golf ball.
Very good tips, hard to keep the ego in check sometimes. I don't know how many videos I've watched where pro's tell me - get out of bunker 1st time every time, my golf buddies tell me don't go in the bunkers Mike.
For me, course management is most often compromised by rushing. I will get caught up on technique and ignore alignment. Too frequently I find myself short sided because I focused on flag instead of away from trouble. Often I don't read roll out on chip shots, leaving more difficult putts. Played last week with a scratch golfer and he talked me through every shot other than putts at my request. He uses the following acronym...AGAPC. Assess, Grip, Alignment, Posture, Commit.
Hero shots - Look - there's a gap between the trees and on any day other than a comp day it's sailing right between the uprights! So, from there on a comp day it's a nice little draw around the right upright - which, of course, will hit it at speed and ping off in the opposite direction! Hahahaha. Maybe that chip shot's the go?!!
Completely agree regarding approach shots short. I am short, and often miles short 99% of the time, and 95% of those are due terrible contact with chips and pitches. Very frustrating. I have been doing it for 15 years, and have never had any benefit from lessons. Does anyone know a solution for the yips?
Thank you for your comments John. We have some great videos to help you with your ball striking. The yips on these shots is due to an inconsistent finish and lack of commitment. @@AussieGolfPros hi thanks, no good with chips and pitches, but reducing length of backswing and committing and finishing is helping full shots, cheers
I practice the not so fun shots on the course. Those touchy 50 yard wedges, hitting balls from deep rough and pitching and chipping from awkward lies and positions. You are not required to keep score every time you play.
Definitely an option if you can play that shot successfully 75% or more. A straight shot hit to firmly to the right, without the hook, would end up in the bushes on the other side of the fairway. Cheers

That's why I like this channel...your advices and lessons are always on the pragmatic approach....will stay tuned..thanks a lot for the work.
We love you too Max! Thank you for your kind words. 🙏🙏
Thanks for the videos Glen
Our pleasure! 🙏
Excellent advice about the hero shot. Thanks Glenn
Much appreciated Charles. 👍

Useful.
Glad it was helpful! 🙏
The last tip was the best. Game changer when I did this several years ago!
Thank you for your feedback RW. 🙏
Awesome hints, some of the biggest issues around the green and approach which I lose my concentration with.
Love it
❤Thank you
Great feedback Wayne, thank you!
Thank you for excellent, easy to follow advice.

Thank you for your feedback Marty! There are many ways we can improve our golf performance without making swing changes. Cheers
Great upload…thank you
Thanks for listening Pete

Thanks Joe. Great to hear from you. Hope you’re well and enjoying your golf!
@AussieGolfPros Doing fine, thanks, Glen. Enjoying your videos. Hope you and Steve are doing well.
Absolutely! Great stuff! Living the Dream.
Love this! As a 36 handicapper, I must remember that I'm not capable of hitting a stinger through a gap in the trees!

Sometimes, you’re better off in the bunker than chipping! Hopefully, our videos on bunker play can help you! Thanks Mike.
I also go for those hero ones as well which I’m going to change.
For sure! 👍
Worst mistake is that outfit, brother. Thanks for the tips!
🤣 Cheers

Sounds like you’re on top of correcting your mistakes Lincoln. Begins with feedback and awareness.
We look forward to hearing of your progress.

@@AussieGolfPros Great, thanks for the suggestion, I will have a look at the video you suggested, cheers, J
How’d you go with improving that finish and commitment John?
@@AussieGolfPros hi thanks, no good with chips and pitches, but reducing length of backswing and committing and finishing is helping full shots, cheers
Trees ARE 90% air, but so is a frikken' screen door.
Good point! A golf ball will go through a screen door much more easily than through a tree branch!

Super stuff David! Great idea to make the most of your time on the course.
Why not draw around that tree?

When behind trees I get putter or a 1 wood out and putt/punt it out😅
What about if you’re in the rough behind a tree?
@@AussieGolfPros depends how bad, 1 wood just punt it out, I'm just trying cto get back on fairway, not hit 100 yards I'm not that good 😊
😂 or clearing the trees 200 yards in front with a driver?
If you have the power?
The first stupid mistake is taking up golf... ditto for 2nd and 3rd mistakes...
Golf can be a challenging and frustrating game at times but can also be very rewarding!
Why would an Aussie golfer use yards instead of metres?

Because he's smart. 🤣
Yards is how golf is played. .
