I just stumbled upon your channel. That was the most informative explanation of gear effect on the entire driver face that I have ever seen. Very helpful. Well done! I just subscribed. Please keep up the great work.
Excellent video on "gear effect" with the driver Glen! The "gear" visuals were very helpful with your explanation with driver and irons. As you stated, we have all hit these shots! My current driver is a Cleveland Black and I have taken the loft down to 9 degrees. Most of my drives are straight and high with very little run out! I'm working on getting a little more distance. Keep up the good work! Always enjoy your videos!!
Thank you for your comments John. The Cleveland drivers can come out a little high but 9°? Wow! Sound like you can gain some distance by reducing your dynamic loft. Weak grip?
@@AussieGolfPros I have been playing more with a neutral type grip! In placing my right hand on the handle, I come from underneath and cover the left thumb by rolling the right palm over it. On the takeaway, my right palm is facing down at the ball as it is at impact.
Great tip to put the focus on awareness and not technique, can’t wait to try this out on the driver. Given that contact at impact is the net result of club face position and club path, will awareness take care of those as well? If yes, fantastic. Thanks
Hi Bala Thank you for your question. Contact can work very independently of swing path and clubface. E.g. The face can be open at impact, for a heel strike or a toe strike. We look forward to hearing how you get on.
@@AussieGolfPros. I play srixon zx5 irons love them . Play callaway epic sub zero driver which I have a love hate relationship with it . I won it in a competition.
I cried a little for your driver Glen. Please tell me you put some tape on it? Great info but if I'm skying a driver I'm still not going to be looking up to track it's flight 😀😂

What about the top hand? IMO the ‘V’s formed by the thumb & forefingers of each hand.

The ZX5s are great! Best looking hot irons on the market!

Nah, it’s tough! 🤣 You’re still going to be looking for that $7 ball! 😜
@@AussieGolfPros But I won't be saving the ball flight to my Memory Palace 😁😉
🤣 good point!
