Honestly it is ridiculous the hoops that you have to jump through to get any grant help. I watch Living the Sky Life on You Tube, and it occurred to me that their cottage looks a lot like yours - such a special place. xxx
It’s true. I still have the footage you sent us on that very first visit. It will always be special that you saw it first, even before we did. Can’t wait till we invite you round for a meal when we’ve finally moved in! 😊
Glad to see the sweet gum tree made it through the winter! The land is so changed from last year, all ready for the build to start! Nice that you got the Grant, or will have done once the changes are met. Good luck!
Yes, and the gum tree has perked up in the last few days since Noel has been there. Re the grant, there are no guarantees, but hopefully we’ll get some help. 😊🏠🌳
Awww isn’t that just lovely they have made a good job of levelling and the ditches it looks so different hope you can get yr grant and now make some more progress wishing you both well (Ann and David) the oldies tc now 🤗🤗👍👍🌟
Ah, Ann and David, I was only thinking of you and wondering what your names were. Yes we’re pleased with the progress so far. Any help will be very welcome lol. 😊👍
Looking great - things are really moving ahead! Love the nice flat, dry area!! We were lucky to be put in touch with a local who takes old metal away which made a huge difference at our place 👍🏻
Im going through this at the moment. Im stressed out completely. Builders prices soo high i cant afford it. Feel like im never going to get through this
Hi, Love the video and following your story. Question... Can you claim this grant for any work you do yourself? I'm a builder and thinking of doing exactly the same but having a lot of the skills would do a lot of work myself to save costs. How would this work? Thanks Shaun
What part of kerry is this ? I lived on the Dingle Peninsula for 7 years, not quite as isolated as this. The winters finished it for me. Very dark and wet.
@@flynnjp19 Just on what we heard others say at the beginning, but it seems to have changed. More people report getting the full amount provided all paperwork invoices, receipts etc can be provided.
Most tradesmen are self employed they are skint for tax along with paying an accountant for their services even when trading on their own. The tradesman is always the last one to get his whac from your payment........
That’s why we want to deal direct with tradesmen rather than through companies, agents and contractors who want their slice of the pie, sometimes just for the referral.
I love looking down the tree lined drive and seeing the cottage like a framed picture. Absolutely so peaceful and beautiful.
Can you spot the painting Noel is working on at 08:00 😊
@@TheHiddenHouseIreland Wow! That is going to be a great addition to the cottage.
It's all looking wonderfully tidy and a blank canvas for things to come of which I'm really looking forward to following, great news about the grant.❤
Let’s hope so Pat. We can but try. 🙌🏠
Tradesman prices in Ireland are SO EXPENSIVE

It's amazing the huge amount of work that has been done already! It looks great!

Land looks nicely excavated. Exciting next step.
Yes, it’s a neat blank canvas. Can’t wait to get started now. 😊
Im told you cant do your own work if availing of the grant. Your video is fantastic ❤
Thank you. You're right, but you can claim for your materials. Keep all the receipts from the building merchants.
Thank you soo much for the reply i truly appreciate it

I’m so sorry to hear this Maria. Have you applied for the grant?
I have just recently 😢

We’re not on the peninsular, closer to Tralee so not too isolated. ☺️
Hiya Noel ♥️
Why do you say it’s very rare to get the full funding? Is this based on data?

@@TheHiddenHouseIreland That’s good to hear
