    I can't wait to use it. I have crocheted for 40yrs. I have never seen the crab stitch... Thank you.

    I was to use the Crab stitch as an edging on the ends of a shawl I’d made for my daughter 2 years ago. She doesn’t like fringe so I told her to bring it by and I’d fix it. I was looking for a refresher and your fantastic video popped up. So amazing yet so simple with no confusing maneuvers. So easy to keep the stitches uniform. Brought back days of baton twirling. Ive loved so many of
    your offerings and was surprised I wasn’t subscribed soooo I hit that button! Thanks again! WooHoo !

    Nice to see there's a nice looking alternative to the crab stitch, will give it a try on a basket I'm making! Thanks, Tamara!

    Thank you so much Tamara as usual your tutorial is excellent. Another useful point with this stitch is when your project is on the wrong side for Crab stitch & are going from right to left. I couldn't figure out how to do normal reverse single stitches so this is perfect 💕💕💕

    Thank you so much for this. I needed to do a RSC in BLO and could not for the life get it. I came across this and it works perfectly for what I needed it for. Wheels on a Gingerbread train. Again thank you.

    You can actually do the twisted in the middle of a pattern without hiding it. Do it in front loop only and then do the next row into the open back loop you left.

    Thank you so much! I'm doing the edging on a macaron pillow and I couldn't do the crab stitch. I went up a full hook size and helped a lot with pulling through the twist.

      I wondered if going up a hook size would help, too. Thanks!

    Thanks so much! Never saw this stitch before until a tiny preemie pattern called for it as the last round of a hat.

    Thank you so much! I have a pattern that calls for going backwards into the stitch behind you somehow... (my inexperience is showing. :P ) But the outcome looks like this & your method is way easier to understand & accomplish. I thought I was doomed to forsaking the project or having to try to change it somehow. Now I don't & it'll still look the way I hoped. Thanks! (btw: the 2016 CAL has been a real joy and taught me a lot - thx for coordinating something so fun & informative)

      @@mooglyblog How kind ye are.Thank you for your reply. Very much appreciated. I'm going to use this as my 3rd row on my border on a King size c2c blanket I've just finished. 1st row I did single crochet chain 2 all way around...2nd row 3 double in each chain space. All contrasting colours. Now this 3rd row I'll do the variegated wool I used for the main colour of the blanket. It'll add a grand beautiful and unusual border.9pm here but I'm starting it now can't wait.

    When it comes to the corners do you just put in 1 twisted sc or would you put 2 stitches in the corner?

    looks great. I have done the crab st/rev sc and its good. Can you crochet into this twisted sc or is it just a finishing row as is the rev sc.

    • @tamarairene
      @tamarairene 7 років тому

      You can crochet into it, though I do think it hides the effect quite a bit. :)

    How do you end off this stitch if working in a round?

    • @mooglyblog
      @mooglyblog  2 роки тому

      Great question! I don't think it joins well with a slip stitch, so I prefer to cut the yarn and sew the end to the first stitch, mimicking the look of the other stitches.

  • @solusumbra9354
    @solusumbra9354 5 років тому +1

    When you get all the way back around how do you join?

    • @mooglyblog
      @mooglyblog  5 років тому +2

      I like to use the seamless join, I find I can usually sew into the first stitch to create a seamless look: www.mooglyblog.com/crochet-video-tutorial-seamless-finishing-when-working-in-the-round/

    How u do the second row?

    • @tamarairene
      @tamarairene 8 років тому

      +Naseem Uddin This stitch is typically done as a last row (or in the front loop only, with the pattern continuing in the back loop). If you worked another row on top of a row or twisted stitches, the twist would be lost, visually.

    too much work :/ think I will stick with good ole fashioned crab...but gawd those furl metal hook are beyond beautiful and might splurge 29 bucks ..but my concern is the handle is it too thick is it heavy anyone have one to respond? love the look of that new 24/cotton but didn't realize it was so thin I like it I need some thinner cotton

    • @tamarairene
      @tamarairene 8 років тому +2

      I think everyone has a favorite! :) I like the thicker hook as it helps prevent hand cramps and is more ergonomic, but again, to each their own! :)
