I’ve recently bought my first, it came with a bevel on the convex side, I thought they were meant to be fully convex on that side- you sharpen them on the flat side, so there should be (or so I thought) no need of a bevel at all. The other issue is, it means you have to hold the knife at quite an obtuse angle to shelve wood with it, a far greater angle than you would with a “normal” knife. Do yours have a bevel? I’ve watched quite a few videos about Yakut knives, it’s very difficult to tell, but some do look like they do and some not, but generally the quality isn’t good enough on UA-cam to tell definitively. I’m thinking to try to remove it on a belt grinder (Ken Onion blade grinding attachment) but it’s a lot of grinding, so I’m in two minds about it.
Great for use with mittens
