Smartest off-grid Russian I have ever listened too in my life. Brilliant Sir. You are a walking library. Cheers from Canada my friend, keep up the good work. Love your videos but this one made me subscribe. You are an intelligent human being, we need more humans like you. Thank you for the videos and don't ever quit or I will get stupid again. Lol.
@@MangySquirrel I honestly think it might be the other way around, people who don't know this type of stuff will have to resort to attacking other people and taking what they have.
Dude, that intro clip is such a power move, I can't even😂. The look into the camera, the confident stature, the seamless twirl and throwing of the knife. So great.
Yes, your grounded philosophy and creative work are second to none Advoko, simple and practical, and unique. Keep it up, you are needed in the world. Keeping old methods alive is a gift you have.....
Your never-ending skill sets never cease to amaze me. Kudos to your teachers and elders that have imparted their wisdom on to you with these time honored crafts and skills. Thank you for sharing them with us. Best wishes for your journey.
You are a true artist, pure and simple.! I would be proud to own a knife like this one. ! Thank you for sharing how you made it with us. Thumbs Up to you.!
Normally, a file is too high in carbon for this to work out well, but this is how tempering keeps the hardness of the file on the edge - yet imparts flexibility into the spine... Perfection. This is what you want. This is high carbon brittle steel being worked at it's finest. A pleasure to watch a master blade smith at work.
The traditional handle method of fitting the tang helps me out a lot and gives me a great way to try it I just got a Yakut knife blank as a gift and I want to make a really nice handle for it
Excellent skills and alternative thinking , the strength and conditioning of this knife is outstanding the finish is perfect . Just as it should be . You are a true craftsman maxi . Looking forward to your next project . Amazing site . The best out there in my personal opinion . Keep up the excellent content and tutorials .
This is a very beautiful piece, love the craftsmanship and simplicity of the blade. I won't be able to copy that any time soon, i'm in no position to set up even a little forge now. But i'm always to more of this quality content
There are a few people on UA-cam whose videos I watch not just once but twice and sometimes multiple times. Yours fit into that select group of presenters. Thanks Max.
Thank You for the video, great video as always. I am up to date on all your videos looking forward to the next one. wishing you well from California, USA.
beautifully crafted knife I've seen a documentary about the tribes that live with reindeers and their explanation for the shape of the blade was simply that metal is a scarce resource and this indentation allows for a knife of adequate size with less raw materials
Greetings from your Alaskan neighbor. You are an amazing craftsman! Thank you for the knowledge and ideas shared. It is always a pleasure watching your videos.
I am so envious of your skill and obvious passion for high quality craftsmanship; you are an inspiration Sir! Keep up the incredible work, I really look forward to your next videos!
You're an absolute genius with all these skills. It is fascinating to me that you have all these skills and this outdoors lifestyle, building a log cabin...but you are a lawyer in St Petersburg no? I think that is very unusual combination but very cool. I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe in these strange times we are all living through.
Hi thanks for sharing your art. This probably the most beautiful knife I’ve ever seen it’s design is very zen pure functionality. The axe as well is truly magnificent. Great
Do you ever make knives for commission? I have to ask I don't own knives but as a camper I realise the need and yours are the best I have seen in years of looking at various You Tube videos. If not I understand. Best wishes, Mark.
Great job as usual Max. Have you done vids on your dyi anvil and forge before. I love the knife. It looks very beautiful and yet simple. A true work of art.
I politely make this suggestion: DO NOT STAND ON YOUR BLADE...if it failed, you could very easily have received a crippling injury. There are other ways to perform the same test, safer ways. I laud your knife making and your skills. You do excellent work and provide interesting content. There is no need for you to get hurt doing it.
You are an artist of a craftsman. I love your passion. Thanks for sharing.

I've made a Yakut knife. It was very enjoyable and can be done with even lump charcoal, a hair dryer a hammer and a sledge hammer head as an anvil.
You can always just grind one out of a file, they are already heat treated...
