You are not putting the HDMI over a LAN, it is a point to point connection using Ethernet cables. You cannot switch it using an ethernet switch, it has no protocol, the connection simply converts the HDMI signal to be applied to a CAT 5 or 6 cable.

Beware of HDMI extenders looking just like this. They fail. Google for "HDMI extender not working".
There are brand name devices that are reported to work.
