    Nice work Stevo, those flies were loving that leak, now they're starving. I just fixed a 4x4x4 cast iron sewage fitting in my apartment house basement, it's haunted me for over 2 years; I was afraid that if I got in trouble that tenants couldn't shit or shower until I got a plumber. Fortunately, I fixed it all for about 150$ with 4" PVC from Home Depot, and 6 hours of my time. The quotes I got were in the thousands. Rents are high enough, I try to do everything myself.

    People for educational purposes the only reason to use cast iron for a waste line in the ceiling is because it drains quieter than pvc. It has a rough inner lining that catches shit and can plug up easier. PVC has a very smooth inner surface that rarely clogs up.

    • @godsmacking99
      @godsmacking99 6 днів тому

      Possibly a code thing. In some places you're not allowed to replace and change material. You have to put in the same material that you took out.
      Stupid as ABS and PVC would far outlast cast iron but these old plumbers stuck in the past don't want to hear that and that's why we still have to play around with inferior cast iron from time to time like we're still in the 1950's.
