Nope. I've been driving for 8 years in the DFW area, and I know that to make $500, you have to fill up your gas tank at least twice. That takes a big chunk out of your profit. You also have to drive on holidays, and you'll need to be on the road for more than 12 hours. You'll probably have to use both Uber and Lyft, and you'll likely be driving for closer to 16-18 hours. You'll be so tired after that that you won't be able to drive the next day. So, when you split the difference between the two days, you're looking at around $250 per day.

Even then I'll drop off somebody and then I will drive down the service road to get back to Dallas or at least Addison area. I do not like dealing with that bill coming later and then it's hard to verify if Uber and Lyft are paying you the correct amount.
That's why I tell people who want to join the gig economy they need a car that gets at the bare minimum 30 mpg in the city. Too many people focus on the mpg for the highway instead. That's one of the biggest mistakes people make when they first sign up. If you are going to do gigwork, especially ridesharing, a specialty car is needed. Those are tough to find, especially a gasoline engine. Which means hybrids, I don't think it's a good idea to use a Tesla for rideshare. They are meant to be toys. They are a sports car.
One thing though Tim I personally think you emphasize on tips too much. The fucking companies need to give us our money we are earning it but they are taking it
That's a fact! But until they do, we can't turn our backs on any revenue source available. In my opinion, the best option is making side deals and establish private clients. I have scored fairly well taking passengers off Uber and having them just call me directly.
It can be done if : You take drives that are long. Ask the rider how much the trip cost them. Give them a discount of the fare. Tell the RIDER to cancel the trip. Take the rider to the destination OFF THE APP. (On rides that pay you $30 bucks, Uber/Lyft probably charged $75-90 especially during surge) Do that a few times and you have $500 day.

Saint Louis market for me is an average of $10.00 a trip on Sunday - Thursday. Friday & Saturday i average $15.00 a trip. If their is special events can earn 50% more or even double.
Even back in the day when the rates were higher, it was difficult to achieve $500, but it was still possible. I have done it in one day during important holidays like Halloween.

I once made almost $600 dollars in less than 8 hrs. It was only because I was drving Uber in Atl GA the day of the Mayweather vs Paciou fight. Uber was charging up to 10x the rate. It was unbelievable. However even driving on holidays I was never able to approach repeating that day! Absolutely a testament to how badly folks wanted to see Floyd Mayweather lose. In vain!!😂
That was an EXCELLENT day back in 2015. Surge pricing was a lot higher and Uber took a much smaller percentage. If you took those same trips now, during a huge event, you would be lucky to make $200. But Uber would have a huge payday
My biggest payday was $400 for 8 hours, which was with a 200 Quest bonus. Since that quest bonus is only 15.00 these days for the same amount of trips. I know I will never see that again. That is a reason for driving only a few hours a week now
It can be done in 10-12 hrs and it would happen easy if both apps were paying correct fare rates to the driver,I've made $300 in under 10hrs and it's not easy..driving isn't hard dealing with all the different ppl can be mentally taxing.

In 2020 i took a XL ride from StL. Trainstation to eastern Iowa airport in cedar rapids. 280 miles 1 way 4hrs 15mins. Was about 9 hours total trip paid $634.56 was $80.00 in fuel. Think that comes out to be close to $70.00 and they tripped me $100.00 cash. So i made slightly over $650.00, i don't believe you could make that today the way the app is setup now. If i had to guess the passangers likely paid 20% more or atleast i believe uber was taking 20% back then. Which means customers paid close to $1200.00 / $1300.00 counting tip. 6 passangers luggage in trunk and on roof rack. They told me they had a flight cancled took the metro link to tey and get a bus or train to cedar rapids but couldn't get one that day, and need to caught a flight in 16 hours from cedar radpids that was non-refundable. Seriously if flight was $200.00 per person it would have been close to the same price as an uber....
Hell no not in my city Miami - Fort Lauderdale especially in summer months there are very rides and way way too many drivers. I'm lucky to make Monday thru Thursday $60 per day for 8 hours . Friday Saturday Sunday for 10 hours per day around $180 - $200 It's horrible here in Miami no rides saturated with drivers.
In Atlanta, it’s rigged to about $18 to $20 an hour base. Numerous $3.75 trips at the airport ping. It’s a super sad state of affairs. I’ve NEVER earned $500!! The max was about $425 during The Plandemic.

You could during the p-demic with all the crazy bonuses, quests, surges, etc. I did several times. Now the only way you earn $500 per day is you are the CEO, C-Suite Executives or Board of Directors, Top Shareholders
$20 per hour is pushing it here. I made over 400 a few weeks ago but I work smart and a lot. That day was 18 hours multi app lyft and uber plus a bonus.
if you live in nyc, you can easily make $500 a day on an off season doesnt matter. you just have to be willing to hustle and not look at it like uber owes you, YOU OWE YOU!
Thank you sir for sharing these videos… I am a new subscriber and new Uber driver and find these videos as a very good help… I also have a quick question… when I first started driving for Uber on Sunday, June 4, 2023 the Uber driver app was showing me the approximately trip duration, but no longer ( no longer have access to the Uber pro free trial)… so therefore I don’t know how far the trip is going to be until the passenger gets into my car and I actually start the trip!, can I cancel the trip if I feel like the trip is over two hours long like going into NYC or anything further?… I live in Toms River New Jersey and driving into city I feel is not worth it… and suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated thank you!… Tom
Maybe, just maybe, it's possible if you do the max number of hours, in a top 3 market, on a holiday. Something like St. Patrick's Day in Boston or Chicago. I would have said New Years Eve, but so many drivers are out on that day/night that nobody really makes good money anymore.
I’ve been driving for 7 years. I have never had a $500 day. Never. Only had a $400 day once and that was with multiple surges and bonuses on Lyft. But as Tim said, without any of the extras hell no.
i average $300 on fridays and on a good friday i can do $400. I average around $400 on Saturdays and a good Saturday I can do $600 or more. But to get that $600 it needs to surge from like 9 pm - 3 am and I do 3 trips per hour and no breaks.

The answer is No. I hate when drivers say they made so much BUT never subtracted their lost. So lets examine. After tax of that 500 your left with $414. Gas negative $50 = $369. At minimum thats over 300 miles. At a $0.54 cent depreciation per mile. A negative $164. Equals $205. 300 miles per day for 14 days equals over 4000 miles. Time for a oil change. Thats a cost of $5.35 per day at a cost of $75 per oil change. Remaining balance of $199.65. Because your responsible for your own maintenance cost you should subtract a minimal of 25% per dat. But while your car is in the shop you have to keep working meaning its time for a rental. So actual in reality your personal spending or saving from driving should be no more then a 50% cash out until you have saved $5,000 . after that you reduce what you need to be saving in your buisness account per day by 25% to a minimum of 20%. So at best. Lets take $150 and divide that by 10 hours. Your making $15.°° an hour. What you make in a dat doesn't matter cause your taking a lost every time those wheels spin. In all business we know you have to make 3 times your cost to remain profitable..... Aww damn. I for got to add rideshare insurance cost in their. So my opinion is that anyone promoting that any app is profitable is lying. Cause you can make much more by driving to one job and working a $15 hour job cause your only taking a lost in travel time their.

I averaged 250 3 doing 8 hrs and when MSU is in I can do 3 to 6 on game days and weekends I'm in Lansing Michigan it's a little over 100,000 ppl sometimes I drive in Detroit

I've done 500 back to back days. Done 400 3 days in a row. I believe I got 600 or close to 600 once. Holidays its very doable. The other times I've done 500, it was with both apps and over 13+ HR DAYS...
I haven't made that kind of money the hole time I was driving. I was deactivated from Uber so was driving for Lyft and not making as much as I was with Uber so I just quit

The most I ever made in a day on the app was about $748 but that’s when the quest kicked and they were worth while. I had another $100+ in cash tips for the week . That was the best Uber day/week I ever had. Then the next week was when the big drop happened. Uber hasn’t been the same since. This was in Chicago almost a year ago. I made about $3500 that week with both quests.

The only way is with some crazy ride bonus,,the rest is BS. The freaking ride average is 5 bucks. You make 20 bucks an hr before expenses period.
Ive done 200 in one hour but that was because of the very generous tip i recieved. Most days its hard to even break 100 in 4 hours.

There is no way to make this amount even in a perfect day with bonuses and ride streaks.
Surges, bonuses and tips should count. Quest dollars can be divided. $50 for 50 trips completed, call a 12 ride day +$12 that day.
And $50 an hour is VERY hard to achieve!
Depends on your market. A $50 airport run will take care of that...that's if you want to hustle.

On base fare alone, obviously not, but between promotions, tips, kickbacks, and other incentives it isn’t hard to average $50/hr+ total, consistently.

Ived done it in Lyft by convincing clients that I’ll cancel the trip so they can cancel free of charge and then pay me w cash or Venmo or zelle

So at best. Lets take $150 and divide that by 10 hours. Your making $15.°° an hour. What you make in a dat doesn't matter cause your taking a lost every time those wheels spin. So my opinion is that anyone promoting that any app is profitable is lying. Most I ever made was $400 in a day and that was a rainy day with surge + I had a quest bonus completed. This of course was last year.. this year? Hell no

Atlanta there is no money. People say to avoid the low fares but that is all that is offered($4.00 MAX $5.00 FOR 4 MILES). The most I made after driving 11 hours was $200 minus gas. Would you rideshare drivers stop lying about pay? You are not making any money doing Lyft or Uber. EVERYONE KNOWS IT.

I've done 500 back to back days. Done 400 3 days in a row. I believe I got 600 or close to 600 once. Holidays its very doable. The other times I've done 500, it was with both apps and over 13+ HR DAYS...

The most I ever made in a day on the app was about $748 but that’s when the quest kicked and they were worth while. I had another $100+ in cash tips for the week . That was the best Uber day/week I ever had. Then the next week was when the big drop happened. Uber hasn’t been the same since. This was in Chicago almost a year ago. I made about $3500 that week with both quests.

Yellow cap I used to make in 5 hours, $800.too $1000 day And it's funny why you asking that man? You know I know nobody can make it in uber on lyft as far you driving for 70 cents per miles. Which means you're driving for free, my man $3 too $4 they need too pay my man.
