Thank you so much for this video, after watching this I was able to replace my moms side mirror in about 20 minutes with 0 previous experience. Saved her over 100$ in parts and labor costs from the body shop.
You rock! I saved $75 doing my own installation after a foul-mouthed mechanic at the Chrysler dealership told me I should have a trained mechanic do it. It was not worth $75 plus the insane price for this part from a dealership. Thanks for helping the regular guy save a bundle and learn a new skill. I need to see your other videos.
Guys, this was extremely helpful because without knowing that you needed to remove the post cover there is no way of getting to the connector. I appreciate your video. Keep up the good work. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to share your expertise! You saved a lot of people from having to pay expensive repair costs. I checked at three repair shops and the estimates were $350 - $850! One place wanted $550 just for the PART (that cost me about $35 thru Amazon). We had to snap out one more part-- the top of the dashboard closest to the window to reach the plug and then take an exacto and cut off the black tape and foam rubber around the plug (that was to help keep it from pulling apart, I assume). But we got it! And it works just fine! And we are very proud of ourselves. Thanks again.
I can appreciate the time you took to show the correct way to remove and install. I also, appreciate the notation to make certain the correct pins match the broken mirror. Thanks for the video. I will be looking forward to more help from you guys, as needed.
Dude, KUDOS to you!!! Thanks for this great and informative video. I was able to replace a broken mirror unit in 20 minutes total time. I am sure that I saved hundreds of dollars!!! You are an asset to the internet community Also, when you buy a new mirror unit, it is best to use the old gasket from the mirror you're removing b/c it will fit better than the new gasket. Just a tip I learned through doing this!! Once again EXCELLENT VIDEO and THANKS!!!
thanks for the video. the first video I watched was for a non powered mirror, so I got stuck on where the wire plugged in. Thanks to your video it was super easy.
Hi! I just wanted to say THANK YOU!! I watched your video and just installed my mirror and it was very easy! Saved a couple hundred dollars. I did chip a few nails though when trying to pull out the panels, but hey they grow back and was worth it :P.
This was super-helpful! I had been stumped about replacing the wiring until I watched your video. Big problem, though: the replacement mirror has wiring that is about 3" too short!! So I'm stumped again!
Thanks for this. I got my mirror replaced on a 2003 Caravan Sport. It took only 20 minutes. By the way, what you didn't see in the video is that you have to lift (unsnap) the back dash panel to get your hand deep enough into the inner dash to get to the connector.
My guess is the unlike are from dealer techs or independents, there should have a love button to click next to the like button. Thanks again for a excellent video.
Thanks! I got stuck once I got to the part where I needed to unhook the wire. Wasn't sure how to get at it on my wife's 07 caravan. This video helped with that part, so thanks a ton!
Excellent video. Instructions were right on for 2006 T&C power mirror. Only problem was I could not unplug mirror harness from connector w/o removing connector. However connector slides onto a plate that is (plastic) pop riveted to chassis. I did not understand how it was fastened until after I ripped off the slide. I tried to slide connector back on the slide - it should have worked - but I grew impatient and just stuffed it back under the dash. Probably should have taped or zip tied it.
Very usefull, i have a 2003 Chrysler Town & Country and yesterday the drivers power windows just stops working. i don't know what happened, i check the relays at the front power module under the hood and everything is ok, so then i removed the buttons control panel at the dor to see if the button is broken but, again, everythin is fully opperational. do you or someone else here can help me to know what is going on with my power window? and how to fix that? I will apreciate any help with this.
@f15eagleger Thanks for the comment, Yes that piece should pop up with a little bit of force. There are small clips that will come loose when pulling up on it.
awesome demonstration, only question, the dash you pull up by the speaker, do i just need to forcefully lift it up enough to get underneath and disconnect the plug?
@APDTY Thanks for answer, All buttons is working but mine, i mean, the left door front window, it's the only one window unoperational. this issue is very anoying to me every time i has to pay for parking tickets or highway taxes. last week a cop just stops me in a road block and when i couldn't slide down my window to show my doccuments i just quickly open the door and the cop took his gun and says "STAY IN THE CAR" and then i had to show him the issue with my window button.
Diana Leigh technically you should always disconnect the battery anytime an electrical component is replaced, some items like this mirror are less important as no power is running to it with the key off, but rule of thumb and again by the book is disconnect the battery, this video is so old I cannot remember if we did or not
So, I didn't see this video prior to installing. Couldn't figure out how to get access to the plug so I just spliced wires. I had a Kool Vue replacement heated mirrror but noticed on the replacement, there were two less wires. Two black, Blue, Red and White. The original also had 2 browns. Looks like they went to a circuit board on the heater. Capped them off and everything works but am trying to find out if they just aren't used in after maket mirrors or what...
It sounds like the aftermarket mirror you used did not have the heat option. It should be just fine though, you'll just lose the optional heated mirror option.
@james08diaz Wow! Yeah you need to get that window fixed :) Your next step would be to remove the door panel, and when pushing the window switch up and down, make sure that you have both a power and ground at the connector going to the window motor. If you DO have power and ground (while pushing the switch) your window motor is bad. If you are not getting power and ground, your switch is likely the culprit. Good luck with it.
I have a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country - limited edition, The driver and passenger side post has a pop-in cap. Is this a screw cover or is it a bag? Should I pop the cover? If not how do I get to the plug?
Great, informative video and I gave it a thumbs up. However, your sound is horrible! I could barely make out what you were saying, through ear buds, with the sound all the way up. There is a lot of background " fuzz" and your voices is coming out of the bottom of a barrel! Please accept this as positive criticism.
Sonny Laughlin thank you, yeah this is an old video and back when we barely could rub 2 pennies together, since then we have bought much better camera and an actual microphone, thanks for watching and thanks for the like!!
Someone busted my mirror, how did you other 100,000 people end up with a broken one? Shame the whole unit has to be replaced and not just the mirror. I'm going to call the parts shop.

10 years later and your video is still helpful, thank you!

Just want to thank you for the demo. Worked like a charm. Saved $200 dollars.
I can appreciate the time you took to show the correct way to remove and install. I also, appreciate the notation to make certain the correct pins match the broken mirror. Thanks for the video. I will be looking forward to more help from you guys, as needed.
In case anyone watching is wondering, the screws are T27 size.
big thanks
Thank you
Thanks the fuck was this guy thinking
Probably the first and last time I'm ever going to use a T27 😂😂😂
You sir are a God sent. Your the ONLY vid that gave any type of clue on how to get to the actual male and female connection. Thank you
Thank you so much! I couldn't figure out how to unplug the old mirror's cable, but your video was perfect. Thanks again.
Excellent video!.
Covered all of the little tricks to make the job go smoothly.
Kudos to APDTY!

@APDTY That did the trick. Local dealership wanted around $500 after taxes to have it installed.... crazy. thank you!
Used this for an 06 grand caravan. Exact and spot on video aid. Well done sir. Thank you. Fixed in under 5 minutes.

Thank you for the video I just did my mother mirror this morning it was a big help inside trim removal

Just watched this video. Thank you for the info. There were things I would have not known to do.
Excellent video, particularly the process for changing the wiring. Thanks very much.
Complete instruction, awesome job!
Perfect video easy instructions, torx were T30 on mine, very clear thank you very much...
My guess is the unlike are from dealer techs or independents, there should have a love button to click next to the like button. Thanks again for a excellent video.

Thank you, for showing how to get at the wire connection. Picked up replacement mirror from wrecker, $30.00 CAD.
Excellent video. Instructions were right on for 2006 T&C power mirror. Only problem was I could not unplug mirror harness from connector w/o removing connector. Absolutely great video I did it in less than 20 minutes thank you
My 2007 Dodge Caravan required a T27 Torx bit to remove the screws holding the mirror on.
My screws were T30.. Also, good idea to take off the passenger curtain plastic and re-install AFTER putting on the big center console top plastic
Thank you for this, I was able to replace my mirror very easily
@f15eagleger Thanks for the comment, Yes that piece should pop up with a little bit of force. There are small clips that will come loose when pulling up on it.
Great video, saved the day!
awesome demonstration, only question, the dash you pull up by the speaker, do i just need to forcefully lift it up enough to get underneath and disconnect the plug?
Thanks for the instructional video.
Thank you! Some asshole sideswiped my mom's van and took out her mirror and kept going.

Very helpful indeed!
Thank you for this video I could not do it with out your help.
exellent explanation 👍
Thank you. I didn't know where the connection was.
In another video, the guy disconnected the battery first. Is that necessary?
Diana Leigh technically you should always disconnect the battery anytime an electrical component is replaced, some items like this mirror are less important as no power is running to it with the key off, but rule of thumb and again by the book is disconnect the battery, this video is so old I cannot remember if we did or not

God bless you!!!! Thank you so much
What size is that tool, screw?? Torque size #25/27/30??? Thanks =)
+Eero Laukkanen
I believe it is a T27....however, always check before you start.
Cheers
It sounds like the aftermarket mirror you used did not have the heat option. It should be just fine though, you'll just lose the optional heated mirror option.
Thank you for the video!!!
If you replace the mirror only and not the whole side mirror , you will save a great deal of money.
top notch video,,,,, thank you

thanks for posting. the other videos don't show the trim removed and wire connection.
You nailed it. Thanks Saved me some heart ack.
awesome! Thanks!
would not have found hidden screws without video
I have a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country - limited edition, The driver and passenger side post has a pop-in cap. Is this a screw cover or is it a bag? Should I pop the cover? If not how do I get to the plug?
second wooly Did you ever find an answer/workaround for this? If it's airbag related, I don't want to mess with it.
Odd - since I thought that's what I ordered - but probably not a huge necessity. Again - thanks for the video.
Did you say the glass was broken? If that's the case, why didn't you just replace the glass. If it's like a Caravan, they just pop in.
Thank you!
Now I just need to find a replacement mirror for drivers side, 04 town n country
Thank you
thanks have a nice day, you make mine.
@james08diaz Did all the windows and all the switches stop working?
Does this apply to a 2019 dodge caravan ??
Applies to '01 to '07. '08 or newer could have similar process.
