20min total time!!! Those other vids said to fish with your fingers. That wasn't going to happen. One vid said to loosen up dash. Wrong!!! Thank GOD I stumbled on your vid!!! Best Way Hands Down!!!
This is the video to watch. He hit it spot on correct about everything and how to take it apart. I watched several videos and he had all the issues addressed where the others did not. Torx 27 bit. 10MM socket for the handle. The only thing I would add is watch this video first. Then open up the dash to determine if 5 or 3 wires to tell if you have heated mirror or not. Then order the mirror. Then replace. Also, my new mirror had a big piece of cushioning that was making it difficult to get screwed back on. If you can salvage the original OEM piece, swap that out on the new mirror.
Good video for replacing the mirror. I scored 10 of 10 for getting the mirror working, but only 7 of 10 for style. I couldn't find my 5-pound rubber mallet to "persuade" those 2 darn small trim pieces into place around the hand-hold. Thanks for the well-explained video.
Thank you so much!! My daughter cracked my mirror coming out the garage 🤦🏽♀️ I am going to do this myself now that I’ve watched your video. You have a new follower in me thanks again. I was scared to try it but you explained it so bc well.
That is my make and model. I saw other videos, but yours was by far the best. I swapped it out today and it was a breeze. I went to buy a 27 torx. I asked them for a torq wrench by mistake. Big duh. I got the right tool and the hardest part was putting that last piece of plastic back on. I finally used the old part and it was easier. Great video. Thanks, jack
Excelente explicación, con todos los detalles, me fue muy útil para retirar el espejo de mi caravan s.e. 2007. Muchas gracias, abrazo desde Argentina 🇦🇷 🇦🇷
UPdate: took me 15 minutes to get it done to do two mirrors. We have 2 Town and Countries and I was taking one outside mirror and switching it with a cracked one on the nicer of the two vans. Your tips were great. The most difficult process was unplugging the electrical plug. I struggled getting the wire unclipped because I couldn't see the clip since it faces away from the cabin. I wound up taking the entire piece that covers the dash speakers off so that I could see the clip from the outside. Once that was off - bang. When reattaching the final outside plate that you struggled with I placed the top tab in first and then seated the others. - thanks again!
This replacement shouldn't take longer than 15 minutes if you are so mechanically inclined. Even if not mechanically inclined shouldn't take longer than an hour. Such an easy fix as shown here.
P_erfect explanation to help me change my '07 Gr. caravan pass. side mirror. Had NO clue that's how to do it, until I watched this video!! THANK YOU!!!
I just ordered my depo side mirror....thanks for the tip!!! I wont have guessed you could order parts on Amazon...its 50.20 Canadian dollars...way better than the quotes I've been getting....newbie in Canada😊
Thanks to you, I successfully replaced my side view mirror in less than 30 minutes. Your tips were invaluable. And I especially liked seeing you have a little trouble and how you overcame it.
Can a heated mirror work for the dodge caravan with only 3 wires? non heated. bought the parts before I knew there were only 3 wires. thanks for the very helpful video.
I can't say for certain. It's not uncommon for cars to have the higher end options pre-wired (so you'd have to check if the clip on your van looks the same as the one you bought). I'm thinking they aren't the same though, and that's how I figured out something was wrong when I bought the non-heated mirror at first. I mean... technically... I'm sure it could be made to adapt. You could cut off the cable from your old mirror and splice the wires to the new mirror... but you'd have to know which 3 of the 5 to tie in and which to ignore. Probably not worth the effort and you should just swap to the right version though.
@@BrentTech thank you for your quick reply. Ive got good news! they work! it is the same clip at the end of the wires on my new mirrors.. So my 5 wires new mirrors plugged into the 3 wires old clip under the dash and hey presto the mirrors work. Been driving around for 2 years with a cracked passenger mirror but when someone sideswiped my driver mirror off a month ago, I had to do something. Can't believe this was doable by me for so little money. Had to buy the socket and t27 and 2 mirrors less than for $100 all and fixed myself. Miostly because I had this resource you provide of how to do it. A truckload of thank you to you!
Another commenter Ifreemantoo said "On the driver side you do have to pull up on the dash/speaker panel to expose the wire connector under it." But the rest of the process should be very similar if not identical.

Super helpful. Got stuck following another video with getting under the speaker panel. Had success following yours. Thanks!
This is a great video. Lots of detail other videos left out. Thank you. Now it's time to see if I can do it in 15 minutes.
Thank You your video was a lot of help made the job go much faster.
Thank you for sacrificing your time to help others. Saved me a load of time!

Awesome! Good luck Mary!
These instructions also work almost exactly for my 2007 Chrysler Town & Country. Only difference: I used a T-30 for the screws mounting the mirror.
Beautiful! A few subtle differences on my model, but I got it in 30 minutes flat thanks to you!

Very nicely done! I"m ready to tackle this. I didn't think this would be hard but you had a few tips that will save me time and money!

You know, UA-cam makes us all neighbors . Thanks for the help. Your video made it easier then apple pie! Wish I could return the favor.
You just did! Thanks.
One of the better videos on this. On the driver side you do have to pull up on the dash/speaker panel to expose the wire connector under it.

@@BrentTech Well... after I got over the electrocution, things were as bad as ever. Homer's still biting my pencils.
Good job
Yeah, thanks so much:)
Thanks for your information
Thanks mucho. Just what I needed.
👍👍👍👍👍👍🤝
Thanks for the vid!
This was helpful, my only question is what is the part number on Amazon ?
The one I used was DEPO 333-5403R3EBH and the non-heated version is DEPO 333-5403R3EB
