14 years later this song hits hard. My youth has slipped away. In May I'll be 30... This music video and song has always been an accurate portrail of at least my life..
Same here… I used to listen this when I was 13 and skateboarding without any real care in the world. Now I’m going on 30 with kids… where did the time go
Yeah... Yeah, Silmarrillon. Is your dad JRR Tolkien? My dad was a hinayana/theravada, secret mahayana, in his life he believed the state area child was abducted as the big fat state area child and always tried, to free her.
Turned 35 this year, so proud to say that my 3boys have their playlists filled with rock, heavy metal and all the music I listened to in my younger years. They say 35 or 40 isn't old....psh I beg to differ. My husband is 45 and he's literally falling apart. What I got to look forward to. 😂
My brother and I are very nerdy when it comes to music videos and film in general... and I can confidently say that "Boiled Frogs" and "This Could Be Anywhere" are some of the best music videos ever. The ideas behind them and the way they were executed are just phenomenal. This shit stands the test of time. Truly the only band ever.
@@HelenPoodle las peliculas no son la calidad, o los problemas, son lo que vemos, lo que la edición final pudo expresar. Mucho filmaker piensa que todo es la calidad pero si tu video no expresa nada en su raccord es solo basura (I do not know how to write in English)
One time I went to Rockville in Florida to see Alexisonfire, and they got cancelled because of weather. So bummed, I feel like I'm never gonna get to see these guys live. Been a fan for years and years, hopefully catch them in 2025!!!!
I managed to see them live in toronto this year. Grew up listening to them as my brother would always, always play Alexisonfire. My GF ended up buying the tickets, Alexisonfire, Piercetheveil, and Blink-182.
Song hits harder now than when I first heard it at 16. I'm 24 now, still youthful but I'm starting to feel the years slipping by now, my body is a little worse for wear. This can't be all what life is work till you die.
You’re 24 you’re not old enough to have those problems get in the gym start eating right and sleeping on a regular schedule at 24 we were having chicken fights in the middle of a circle pit and getting spartan kicked in the chest every weekend you think you hurt now wait another 10 years 😂
2006 I was 12 turning 13 years old, now I’m 27-going on 28 and I am just thinking where the hell did the years go by?? Time flies when u are building your life and getting your shit together. Crazy how it is.
1994 represent lol… it’s scary how much your comment looks like what I’m thinking. Hey brother we’re making it and that’s all that matters, we should consider ourselves lucky that we got to listen to such good music in our youth
lots of people saying they just revisited after years of not listening. i never left. AOF for life. i even have the heartskull tattooed on my leg. and not a small heartskull.
When I was a kid in high school I went to my favorite show ever. Alexisonfire, The Sleeping, Saosin, and Senses Fail. I'm in my 30's now, but these songs stick with me.
I’m 21 and i’m so jealous of all the people who got to see these bands live. I would’ve loved to see Saosin and Senses Fail. My brother would tell me stories of how he went to Alexisonfire concerts for like $20. I went to a concert this year it was Alexisonfire, Piercetheveil, and Blink-182 and it was almost $700 for 2 tickets.
This is probably a dumb question.... But is it "Alex is on fire" or "Alexis on fire"? And I have no idea how I never got into this band... They came out right when I was a little more into this genre.
If I recall the time I asked this same question, I believe it is "Alexis on fire". The lead singer is Dallas Green and he started City and Colour - absolutely amazing material, albeit a start contrast in genre. Shows how versatile he is as a musician.
Trying to work out the video George - trapped in a dead end job, eventually finds a way out but then ends up back at work Wade- trapped in a prison of his own design and the moment he’s about to free himself he stays there Chris - lost at sea and trying to move closer to the light, but then finds himself moving further and further away Dallas - tries to work out a problem but eventually does, finds the gold watch Jordan - also feels traps then eventually pulls apart his floor then pulls himself out of his own hell.
I wonder if for George's section they picked that building because the facade on the outside looks like bars? I know it's in Toronto, I just forget the name.

My best friend passed away 5 years ago almost exactly and he showed me this band. This brings back so many great memories. RIP Andrew M
❤
He is safe and well
Sorry to hear that. I showed this band to a co-worker who became a friend for life, and he just thanked me for showing this to him.
@@FaLkraydz You think of some people... As insane... You think of them, as, like, your dad... Or my dad. That's true.
Yeah... Yeah, Silmarrillon. Is your dad JRR Tolkien? My dad was a hinayana/theravada, secret mahayana, in his life he believed the state area child was abducted as the big fat state area child and always tried, to free her.
My youth has slipped away. 40 now and this song hits harder now.
I'm going to be 30 in a year-and-a-half and I'm absolutely terrified
Going on 34 this year and feel ya bud.

It's good to have these experiences from an early age...
Nah mate your fine. The scenes not dead
This song never stops being relevant. Until you're between the light and shallow waves, of course.
"the light and shallow waves" what a great way to say that
15 years later. This song keeps getting more relevant.

@@arielalfaro736 i completely agree. 💜✌
Some of the best music videos ever, you say? Could you go as far as to say that those are some of the only music videos ever?
Beautiful imagery for a beautiful song. Nothing is quite ironically timeless as a song about aging.

We are enslaved. Need to break free from their system

When your youth has slipped away...next thing you know you're 30.
God I wish. I'm nearly 40 and been banging this tune out for years!
Shit. I'm 43 have their whole catalogue on vinyl
When you think 30 is old you are the boiled frog.
34 bud. infinite sadness.

Saw ALEXISONFIRE last night at Tinley Park, with Avenged Sevenfold. They were fantastic. These guys rock hard.

Trying to work out the video
George - trapped in a dead end job, eventually finds a way out but then ends up back at work
Wade- trapped in a prison of his own design and the moment he’s about to free himself he stays there
Chris - lost at sea and trying to move closer to the light, but then finds himself moving further and further away
Dallas - tries to work out a problem but eventually does, finds the gold watch
Jordan - also feels traps then eventually pulls apart his floor then pulls himself out of his own hell.

Pinche rolón, de muchos recuerdos, sobre todo de sensaciones.
So underrated
Count your blessings on one *HAND!!!*
I don't know why the lead guitar doesn't exist in this mix
Noticed that too
RIGHT??!!
This entire album…
2:14 "Poor little tin man, still swinging his axe, even though his joints are clogged with rust."
Tin does not rust.
Still, I found hundreds of completely rusted tin cans in the ground... The tin man's joints rust, sorry to break it to you.
It actually oxidizes... not rust.
Rust is oxidation.
The lyrics aren't strictly literal
This song is a metaphor for my marriage
what prison was this filmed @?
I didn’t understand the clip

I get a feeling this song is about the stage life and its own insecurities and questioning
😢yo
It takes losing a management position to find out whi your real friends are
