I remember listening to this years ago during my times at high school, studying for hours at nights with the hope of becoming a medical doctor one day - it's kind of funny but this video kept me inspired to carry on. Now I'm listening to it and I'm about to finish my MD program and hopefully graduate in just a couple of months
banach_xo I’m a Paramedic now and have been for years. This and Thrice would have played a big role into my interest into getting into it, not going to lie
Thank you for all your comments and likes through these years. Right now I'm on duty in the Neurology Ward I do my residency in, nothing's going on so I've decided to look at some old music videos and I'm really surprised that so many of you have reacted to a comment I forgot about :)
I'm in school to be a paramedic, I'm currently just finishing up my ambulance practicum and every time we drive to a call with lights and sirens I think of this song/music video and it calms me down. 🚑
I've seen Lamb of God, Megadeth, Trivium, and tons of death metal bands live throughout the years but Alexisonfire is still the best concert I've ever been to.
I saw their "farewell" show at Brock University cuz they are from st cat's and the whole show started with the lights coming on, a mist of rain and accidents playing
I fucking love this video and song. Ironically this was one of the videos that played a lot on MTV in May of 2005.. Watching this on tv in Toronto at Sick Kids Hospital dying of heart failure. I was 16, laughing alone in my bed at this video sometime after midnight. My leed detached from laughing so a nurse came to see if I was okay. She thought I lost my mind until I explained it. Loving that I was laughing rather than being depressed about it. Bands hear these stories all the time but that's the thing about music.. It effects our lives so much, music has saved many. This music is now with me forever as it was the soundtrack to my life at that very moment. Among other songs such as "No Transitory", "Wake the Dead" and "Pulmonary Archery". A few days before that I was drowning on my own blood. This is the reason I am getting an Alexisonfire tattoo. The skullheart would be an amazing piece to represent my struggles and love for life and respect for death.
and I love the theme intro, danny, the vampire slayer. I think it's like buffy, the vampire slayer & dr. dimensionpants & supernoobs. buffy, the vampire slayer was badass, badass intro. don't get me wrong, danny, the vampire slayer has a badass intro, too.
I've never heard of this band before today but I'm checking them out right now. I'm a paramedic and I love how authentically they portray an ALS crew. Makes me feel really happy, and the song is a banger.
They were pretty famous back then. You should check out city and colour if you want to hear Dallas Green’s beautiful vocals in a calmer setting, the song coming home is really good :)
First festival I've attended in 2 years since the pandemic started. Went to see these guys headline with Sum 41 last night, and it was like all those years just melted away. Hearing 30,000 fans scream out "LET'S REDEFINE" at the tops of their lungs was the exhilaration I've been missing for so long. So glad these guys reunited for another album and tour, and created the kind of show that brought out the young teen in me again.
man watching this music video brings me back to the old much music days. Where you would come home from school and watch much music countdown, video on trial or any interviews with the vjs. Good times man.
I've seen Megadeth live, Lamb of God live, Mastodon live, and a bunch of death metal bands, but none of them compare to Alexisonfire live. Singing the gang vocals of this song with the crowd is still my favourite memory ever.
I cant even listen to City & Colour anymore knowing that Dallas will never write another AOF record again. He's a beautiful singer, and one of Canada's best but at this time the loss of AOF is still fresh and the nostalgia too great.
I hope it wasn't just because of the money and fame, that City and Colour brought him. I wonder if he knows how important this band is, to people. I see it in the comments, every video. Much like Matt Good's videos.
This track got me hooked on AOF when I first saw the video for it. I've seen AOF multiple times live since and they're probably my top 2 favorite live band ever.
Thank god I saw these guys live back in the day. Never gave em a chance til I seen them preform. I'm still a die hard, know all the words! \m/, rock on!
At sea , alone for 4 hour stretches on lifebuoy sentry on the heilo-deck of the HMCS Vancouver in 2005 in the middle of the Pacific ocean. Vivid are those nights listening to this album on my discman while bouncing around in the waves staring up at the moon , wishing I was home with my friends in Toronto.
I'm a paramedico, I've been doing this for 3 years, but when I was getting started I was watching this video and I just wanted (to this day) to listen to this song before, during and after each service, I can't wait for that to happen to me anymore.
Memories from highschool senior year. Still get dem feels after 17 years. Married man with a dayjob and can't do moshpits anymore but still the best song & video.
Completely forgot about this song. I was late teens when it came out. I've been a Paramedic for just under 15 years. Can't believe I forgot about this song
that explains a lot, I always wondered how they learned so much for this music video (they do a lot of things inaccurate but they still got a lot more accurate than I'd expect from a music video and they also captured the feel of being a medic really well)
I was listening to that song back in highscool. Closely made me being a paramedic. I’m actually a 7 years old police officer. Two years ago, I responded to a collision between a young man on a bike and a car. The boy was the brother of a friend pf mine, whos also a paramedic in our place. The collision was to hard, even with everything we did, the boy died a couple days after at the hospital. At least, we got the woman responsible and she did time. This video brings a little peace to that event.

What an achievement and isn’t it amazing how music gets us through by inspiring us or just keeping a cool head on our shoulders. Congrats
Listen to this in the ambulance whenever I would have to go to the hospital with my mom when she would relapse rest her soul 🤘🏾🔥🖤😎 I am strong

Alexisonfire
Get after it 👍💪👌🏻
My dad was a Paramedic for over 25 years in Toronto, you definitely have a lot ahead of you. Good on you to chose such a noble profession!
@@McflowG I was, I actually passed and am now a licensed paramedic. But that's cool.

Veil of Maya best concert I've ever been to. They were opening for Trivium too.
I saw AOF in summer 2019 it was unreal, loved it
Still the only time I seen a guy in a wheelchair crowd surfing.
I saw their "farewell" show at Brock University cuz they are from st cat's and the whole show started with the lights coming on, a mist of rain and accidents playing

They are/were a canadian post-hardcore band and this was kinda their breakthrough in the mid 2000's
My son, you are welcome! I pass this music on with pride
@@MedalionDS9In Canada. "This Could Be Anywhere In the World" was their breakthrough in the US, somehow.

God bless the paramedics of this world. It takes a special kind of strength to do that job.
this whole album is a Post-Hardcore masterpiece.
one of the best albums ever

This one hits hard right about now...Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.
Dude yes. My 16 year old self had no idea. Now at 26, the lyrics are spot on
Been listening this band .... It's crazy how beautiful some of songs are ... Play it loud
Why? Did you die?
lol not at all, it’s quite the opposite actually
Same to you bud
These comment sections are like nostalgia graveyards. Most of us are 25-35 that remember this. We're not 75 lol.
Nostalgia was better in my day, I'm 47 you know.
Ow my back
I'm 43 and totally agree
I’m 40. What the other two said.
35-40 now

Most under-rated Canadian Band! This BAND is LEGENDS!
honestly....could be most underrated modern rock band in history
I still get shivers down my spine to this one. just makes me wanna feel adrenaline, enjoy life as much as possible
