- These Movies Have To Be Connected

It’s always interesting when movies that seemingly have no correlation whatsoever actually kind of sync up when you really stop to think about it, isn’t it? Like, who would have thought that Coraline, the Wizard of Oz, and Alice In Wonderland could possibly be linked to one another? For all intents and purposes, they appear to be three completely separate movies with nothing at all in common, right? Well, that’s not entirely true.
In this video, we’ll examine how these three movies are actually all connected, and it all has to do with the Good With Theory. This one character is prevalent throughout each of these titles, making it evident that they all exist within the same universe, and approximately around the same era. We’ll uncover just how deep these connections are and discuss any and all instances where these realities may have overlapped.

They're the same archetypes, the witches. That's the connection. The landscapes are similar because the stories use the same archetypes in very similar configurations. They're essentially the same myth. Like Conan is archetypally the same as Gilgamesh. Or Star Wars is akin to King Arthur.
The three girls *are* the same character, in the sense of being an everyman (or everywoman), a universal proxy for the viewer. They don't share the same universe, except in the sense of expressing the same psychological realities and processes common to the human mind.
This is the one theory that actually made sense
*but the movies cant be connected.... Only by the books they can*
Exactly
Well the movie coraline and the live action Alice are completely different from their original books which is pretty much making the movies non-canon to the books
Is that sarcasm?
@@blakemaddox7067 the live movie alice is just a live sequal reboot. And so is alice through the looking glass
@@lahlybird895 yes it is
The good witch is the antagonist
MY LIFE IS A LIE
all three movies feel like massive drug trips
I made that same joke in 6th grade.....
@@NoahTheNoah salty much lol
lol
I don't know how you know what a drug trip feels like- but ohhhh kaaaaay
One way they're all connected is how they all follow The Heroes Journey Template.
Chase Hedges67 that’s every movie lol

i'm going to refer to them as the oz trilogy
Sr: and glinda eats people souls!
I have always loved these three movies. Also spirited away. They are all have a very common theme that has always attracted me. The young girl crossing the door through a different and weird world in which they live so many adventures and grow up... My favourite type of movies :)
But spirited away is through cave.. If that's what I remembered while watching months ago.. I could be wrong
@@FluffyTheCalicoCat it's a tunnel but I said door more on a metaphorical way lol. Another movie I like along those lines is the wizard of Oz...she doesn't go through a door either, a tornado carries her house to Oz but it's the same type of theme.
I feel like the cat in the movies could be coralated into this theory, as the good witch grows in power, so does the cat. In the Wiserd of Oz, the lion is slightly powerful and a possible thing to distract Dorothy from the witches plan. In Alice in wonderland, the cat is the most powerful, along with the which, but he's realizing that this is a bad plan, and starts to go against the which. And last, in Coralie, the cat has little power, but more than the lion, and is used as the last thing to overtake the which, and then returns to it's home in Oz, Wonderland, and/or the other world. Then the cat dies either the which, knowing that he did the right thing, and showing that he is the hero in the story of these three tales.
What are you guys smoking, to make these videos?
Just throw Stranger Things in there too
Why?
@@Gfish17 Exactly
Might as well
Oh and IT
The movies are definitely not connected and this theory makes less sense as to why they'd be connected, which they aren't.
I mean if we forget the details about each story than ig you could see the similarities but it just seems like he hasn't watched these three movies in a long time but i do like this theory
This video should be called we found similarities between The Wizard of Oz, Coroline & Alice in Wonderland
Just like others with similar story archetypes.
It’s fun to pretend that this theory makes sense but you’re reaching if you really believe it lol
The thing is, it could make sence, you just need an open mind.

I thought i was the only one who notice that they are all "connected"...
Its a therory its maybe not true theres ONLY a little chance its true
Coraline, Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland and Screen Rant are connected.
The other mother or good witch is still alive at the end of coralline. I think not only do they tie into each other but are also what makes up the Stephen king realm. The witch, the queen, the other mother, Pennywise, the evils of the overlook hotel, the demon within Christine, etc. they all have that shine. Sometimes people have it and Dorothy,Alice, and Coraline has it to be able to interact with that realm.
No she actually does die but the cat who’s probably has two souls in side is the villain and as well the most likely trying to make a new other mother after she dies (I watch the theorizer)
Hey my guy I highly recommend you go watch the Theorizers collections of videos on Coraline. Itll make everything a lot more clear.....and terrifying
But one is stop motion...
Hey Screen Rant!! Your videos are my favorite to watch when I'm high af!!! Lmaoooo your great Broski!
-All of the characters are young women disillusioned with their dull lives, 2 of whom suffer from neglectful families
-All of the characters enter a fantasy world through a spiraling portal
-All of the characters have a small animal companion, 2 of whom are cats
-All films feature a talking cat
-All films feature a beautiful garden
-All characters have share the same arc of returning home more grateful for what they have
They are essentially the exact same story.
"We know you all came here for the movie theories, and stayed to leave the mean comments"
Oh convincing yourself we did not all come here for George Ryan is tight. Super easy, barely an inconvenience.
Yeah convincing ourselves that our videos aren't bad is tight!
I made this whole argument about Glinda to a friend just last week, almost point for point XD
Yeah the theory makes sense especially with the similarities of glinda/other mother and queen of hearts
Great work here screen rant. Love it.
Glinda section is too funny.

Why is Coraline so terrifying
Stop motion
Hello
Wait what about “Oz the great and powerful “
They all also seem to be rocking blue at some point,👌
I'm sorry all of this theory is cool but alice in wonderland came first so shouldn't it all be evolved around wonderland and not Oz
I have seen the theory that they all are in the same world, just different countries, they each have different ways back to our world
"Screen rant where you come for the fascinating movie theories" 🤣😂 no we come for pitch meeting, this just snuck in on my play next
That was a lot deeper than I expected
If you go by the books the only similarity is them being powerful women and going down a rabbit hole, slash door, slash tornado
Fun theory! I love comparing all of the “fell into another world” stories-bet you can tie Neverland into it 😃😂 I know each of these is a separate story by a different writer, but it’s definitely entertaining to contemplate if they connect 🙂
IVE ALWAYS BELIEVED THIS ALL OF MY LIFE
Magenta and Emerald Green
Pay attention to the magical colors.
They tell you a lot.
Have you heard of the theory that Peter Pan is a villain and that he kidnaps kids to live in Neverland? They say that Captain Hook is a kid that grew up and tries to free the other children.
I think Neverland also has a connection with these three stories.
Coralline is my all time favourite!! I rlly want a number 2 😂
I'd have to brush up on all the books, but this theory really has some teeth to it.
Hi cool video
Do you remember Wybie talking about the well and how you can see the night sky
Any real fans that stuck by Screen Rant even before Pitch Meetings?
Can't be just me😑
When he said these 3 movies are "alot more connected than u think" i was like i never thought they were connected!😅
This actually made alot sense
isn't there like more than 1 book about Oz and also a book before alice in wonderland?
so i'm pretty sure this theory doesn't make sense if you take in to account those books too
It's actually after. "Through the Looking Glass (and What Alice Found There)" I believe there are about 12-14 Oz books.
i watched coraline vs alice rap battle before this so this is a coincedence
Yesss the rap battle was so good
Entertaining... 👍
Insane theory, the good witch is a shapeshifter turning into the Queen of Hearts and the Other Mother. If this is canon, the good witch is the true antagonist not the witch of the west. I feel like Coraline shows Glinda's more evil and true nature, but hey this is JUST A THEORY, A FILM THEORY.
Got chills now
No, we come for Pitch Meetings AND we stay for Pitch Meetings but we also stay for some other also good videos (like this one) ^^
I am 4:32 in and already I am annoyed because I have read the books the movies are based on. In the book, it was no dream, unlike Alice. Dorothy met the Good Witch of the North. Glinda was the Good Witch of the South. Dorothy and friends had to travel to see her after Oz left in the balloon without her (yes, it was Toto's fault, as in the film). They don't meet at all until chapter 23. Glinda certainly didn't get rid of all the rulers. The Scarecrow rules the Emerald City, nothing happened to the Good Witch of the North, and the Tin Woodsman rules the Winkies to the West. (The Lion winds up ruling a forest they pass through on the way to Glinda's.) Yes, it is Glinda who tells Dorothy that the silver shoes can take her home to Kansas, but it was the Good Witch of the North who told Dorothy the shoes who were now hers. The Good Witch of the North knew the shoes had some charm associated with them, but she didn't know what that charm was. The Witches of the East and the West ENSLAVED the inhabitants of they ruled. The Beldame of Coraline is magical, but not the Queen of Hearts in THAT book. You may have a case for the movies you've shown, but not for the books.
Screen Rant:
Epoxies three DVD's together
"Told ya'! Where's my Pulitzer?"
And to answer ur last question on debunking this theory.
AIW, Twoo, and Coraline all r set in different countries/states
AIW starts in the countryside of England
Twoo starts in Kansas
And Coraline is somewhere, most likely in England or america.
So how does thisbdimension keep changing locations? Also Alice was set before oz,
Love these movies
Flashbacks of me watching Coraline 9 times in a week....
Ahhh old good days
Can you please do a pitch for The Wizard of oz? You could even dress up for that time era.
huh. i wonder if pennywise is diguising himself as these "good witches"
Here I am thinking youre trying to set the stage for a modern reboot of Alan Moore's Lost Girls that replaces Wendy with Coraline... but no... just some stuff about Glinda being Other Mother and Queen of hearts.
What about Pan's Labyrinth? It's pretty much based around these kinds of movies where the real world and a parallel fantasy world coexist
Wibbie? You mean Wybie lol.
Other that some errors good vid lol
The only thing that connects them is that they all go through some typa entrance and end up in a different universe
What about The Nutcracker?
The Wizard of Oz, oz was a dream , probably true with Alice and wonderland, and coralline, so they aren’t connected
Unless all three took place on ELM STREET!
Alice and wonderland definitely WAS a dream
Oz and correline weren't
Alternate title: Elasta girl, it’s a bit of a stretch
I have ALWAYS felt these stories are very similar in the Good witch / Bad witch kinda connection.. AGREED! - Follow the PLOTs
Interesting
You could also add narina to that theroy
2:00 you can forget about science, It's a movie. There's a talking lion in it lol
Asland?!? Oz is connected to Narnia!
Anyone else thought that the white queen in Alice in Wonderland is actually the bad guy? There are so many realities we can create and so many perceptions of that reality (well, ofc whatever reality even is) and I do this by flipping the entire popular narrative on it's head and root for "The villain", and based on my morals at the end of Alice and wonderland, I'd argue that the White Queen isn't so perfect after all and honestly I can argue the same thing for the other villains in these movies.
Btw I think IT (pennywise) is also connected.
ya, I also sometimes suspect the white queen in Oz, because if you see the snow queen in Narnia- they look very similar and talk and act in that same mysterious way. and if you have not read cronicals of Narnia, the snow queen is bad
What about Labyrinth (Jim Henson movie) ??
"After all, this is ScreenRant, where you come for fascinating movie theories, and you stay to leave all that mean stuff in the comment sections."
This made me die... XD
Title: Corlaine, Wizard of Oz and Alice and Wonderland Are all Connected
Video: Over 6 minutes convincing me why the good witch in Wizard of Oz is actually the antagonist
What all these movies have in common are they are creepy asf
the "portal" goes from Kansas, to England, to Oregon (maybe)
That’s a really big theory except you’re forgetting the return to oz Movie And all the great and powerful. Also in wicked Alphaba survived and has a son with Fiero a.k.a. the scarecrow.
Naw man I only just stay for pitch meetings
I am speed
What if they're the same species as IT and Mary Poppins?
I see the connection : Is the witch. Maybe all three antagonists are related to each other
But something about Coraline is when he asked mom if they’re gonna like his pages but there’s blood on the dad’s shirt
The only thing that makes them the same is the dream like world setting that is both a dream come true and nightmarish at the same time
All I could think about was the book & movie “The Blue Bird”. It”# old, but it’s the same concept% 😮
I like how different coralline is tho. Alice and oz are more open world whereas coralline is more compact/claustrophobic which adds to the creepiness.
I actually agree with this especially when paired with fangirl's coraline theories
I remember seeing this on reddit
Well it boils down to,it’s just a theory & yes people are going to poke holes in it but honestly it’s meant for entertainment & making you think & for me I thoroughly enjoyed it & love that three movies i love have an unconventional connection....
I like this theory lol
…and they're all inside the Matrix. 🙄
I'm a simple man. I see grand connection theory that's not backed up by the video presenting it, I down vote.
Can you do a pitch meeting for the original marry Poppins
i dont agree 🥶
Screen_rant.exe has stopped working
This is cool but wouldn't Alice come before dorthy cause Alice takes place in the 1800s while the wizard of Oz comes in the 1930s?
Good point but that's if the realm travels on the exact timeline that our reality does. The good witch character could maybe move the realm on a different timeline idk if that makes sense.
I would have gone as far as saying the Queen of Hearts is more like the Wicked Witch and her sister, the “good one” was Glenda.
There is one question that you mentioned. that I think I can answer. And that answer comes in the form of a movie. The movie called Oz the Great and powerful. In this particular movie does give you a more in-depth. Origin story and backstory of the background story. of both Glenda the Good witch of the North. And Her sister turned into that meany greeny Wich. And that meany greeny Wich her name is Theodora. Once you take a look at the movie Oz The Great and powerful. You understand how Theodora got that way
its seems I heard this on Cracked before...
The wonderland one does not make sense because 1. At the end of the movie queen of hearts was locked away 2. You forgot Alice Through the looking glass queen of hearts was not defeated and became good and made up with her sister so only wizard of oz and coralline are connected
