To everyone who says "He's so amazing! Why would he hate it?" Talk to anyone who had parents who forced them to learn to play some type of instrument. I think double d's parents may have held a gun to his head the whole time.
For those that are wondering why double d hates the instrument is most likely because his parents forced him to play. Back when this show was made there were a lot of cases of parents forcing their children to play an instrument and to be better at it even though double d can play it he’s sick of it just from how many times his parents forced him to play it
I wish they hadn’t phased this part of him out during the later seasons. He may have hated it but, he was an absolute prodigy. Although in a certain light, I can understand. If something is super easy to the point of second nature, then it’s easy to dislike it.
@@Hiya_There13667 then, why does play it so well? The compilation started with the gang SURPRISED that Double D could play it so well, so this means he played it more in private. Why would he consistently practice something he hates? (Also, parents used to make their kids practice the accordion. Not all parents have the same intrigue)
Nah, fighting and martial arts always came natural to me and I’m still obsessed with it now like I was when I first started. The difference is, martial arts was my choice, many kids are forced to practice something whether they like it or not.
@@CarpettinginMotel.townson funny you mention that, in KND Nigel at first hated playing an instrument too because of his dad kinda forcing the interaction. Same with fishing. @@Hiya_There13667 The comedy is the fact that his parents force him to play an instrument like this. Considering how high class and cultured his family is, you would think they would make him play piano or violin or something similiar. A steel guitar is just absurd and funnier honestly.
It caught me so off guard 😂 fr though I feel like at some point we’ve all experienced sitting behind someone and their big ass head is in the way. And all she was doing was voicing my inner thoughts of it all.
I hear people saying that the reason Double D detests the instrument is because it's likely his parents forced him to learn it, and as much as I like and agree with the theory (having gone through that experience myself) it does make me wonder why Double D was so encouraging of Ed being forced to practice the violin by his parents🤔 I guess he was just raised to think of it as a valuable experience
It’s a possibly a combination of being forced to play and him just not liking the instrument, perhaps finding it tacky and cheap. Double D has an appreciation for the finer things in life and this kind of music is often associated with cheap motels and travel agencies that try to pretend they’re just as good and big as the larger hotels and resorts. The violin, meanwhile, is more often associated with classic orchestra and the high society that he tries to push onto the other kids of the culdesac. As for why his parents didn’t let him play the violin, it’s possible that they thought it was too easy and beneath his potential and wanted him to learn something that was more difficult.
It could legitimately just be because he hates the instrument. I feel like everyone in the music world has a sound or instrument they hate. It just happens to be that he knows how to play the instrument that annoys him
Maybe he was forced to play it by his parents; the hate comes from the mere memory of putting up with all that training. Think about it, Double D has been raised like he is almost groomed for success. Makes you wonder...
Thank you bestie, I love you, no one else made this compilation and this is one of my favourite parts of the show, it really moves me everytime Edd (Double D (88 Fingers Edward)) plays that instrument, thank you so much.
Part of me is wondering what was the budget of a Ed, Edd, Eddy episode because most cartoon would’ve had double d just repeat the same key frame of animation.
What a random instrument to force onto your kid. Piano I get, we’ve all been there. And most of us probably got pushed into either band or orchestra in middle school But I don’t even know the name of that thing. How many teachers can there possibly be, especially in a suburban area?
Double D's really good at playing that instrument. I don't know how or why he hates playing that instrument. I can only assume it's because Eddy drags him along and twists his arm into playing it.

I played the piano for 13 years during my childhood, and never liked it one bit.
The real question is why did they have him learn the steel guitar.

What the heck is the time signature for this song? Double D goes from 12/16 to 2/4 to 7/16 in the span of a second and goes from there! What a pro!
The original musician has a video talking about the piece. Basically what we hear is a compilation of snippets from a longer recording session.
That solo, I haven't forgot it for 20 years and I ain't forgetting it now
Edd trolling with Eddy by making sound effects of him being mad was him saying "I'll annoy you with this so you'll hate it too.".
That was just the best instance of him using that instrument for a fun purpose
Yeah that was adorable and I enjoyed that Double D finally got to enjoy it as well.

It’s rather implied that he was forced to play it by his parents. You know, those “prodigy children.”

Double d is super skilled. Has he considered joining a band
0:50 and then he starts to make a soundtrack for the episode xD
1:19 lol hearing rolf mentioning son of a shepherd here was hillarious.
“A discharge niblet for Rolf..?” *SMACK*
You do realize that he was saying "son of a bitch" you can't say that on a kids show so they cleverly disguised it with his catchphrase
Eddy:(mimicking Sarah) I want free pop corn I want free pop corn what do I look like some popcorn fairy
this is one of the hardest instruments on earth to learn believe it or not.

I think it’s called pedal steel guitar
Isn't it similar to a Guzheng and a Koto?

He's so skilled, he plays the thing with his feet. While wearing shoes. And reading a book. And judging by 0:06, possibly while high on something.
Why didn’t the Edds just put on a concert? That wouldn’t be a scam because of edd’s talent
They did that once. Sort of. They tried to impress Nazz by forming a band and performing a song... but ended up impressing Jimmy instead.
I love how they get away with saying son of a bitch by having rolf change bitch to shepherd

@@sr1107ful that's what I was thinking
My guess is that it was too easy. To me, if something is so easy that there’s no effort or skill required, it’s going to be disliked at least.
