Hello Sir, I just want to thank you for the great techniques. I actually landed a job using your ideas. By listening and watching you video, I was able to streamline my own thoughts and make everything that I was saying more coherent . I believe I saw the interviewers faces light up when I was giving my answers. I landed a great job. Thanks again and God Bless
This video has truly helped me tremendously. I felt like I was in class with you. I watched the whole video prior to my interview for which I DID get job for. I am now a Quality Analyst for AT&T!! Kudos to Kramer!
One of the best questions I’ve ever heard is the one at the end: “based on my skills and experience what do you forsee as the greatest challenges for me in this position”. Awesome way to get at any perceived gaps or concerns they may have and gives you a chance to address them.
I don’t care how or where this was shot. This video changed my entire approach to interviews and helped me land a great paying job. “How are you adding value to them” Thanks Eric.
Phil, Congrats on the new job. I am really pleased the video helped. Knowing the video has impact makes me proud. Also thanks for overlooking the video quality. Eric
Just getting an interview is so hard these days with computer resume parsers. It is soul crushing just applying. Upload your resume and then spend 20+ minutes typing it all in anyway.
Just got a call saying I got the job. I followed your advice about having a convo. I felt relaxed and followed through. An important note to add, make sure your refrences know they might be called. Thanks again!
I usually tend to get nervous during interviews because it is very evident for me that I am not being myself. The whole idea of "selling" myself as if I am a product on a commercial, it just sounds immoral and inhumane. I don't understand how interviewers can have candidates come into their office saying "I am a hard worker, I am very productive for the company, I can stay overtime... blah blah blah." It really makes me wonder if employers really believe some of the things that many people say during interviews or if the employee has such low self esteem that they are practically begging be hired by using the "bragging" technique. Maybe I'll understand the "adult" world more as I get older but right now it seems to be about being fake. The whole act of acting "professional" is fake in itself since no one acts "professional" once you take off your suit and go home to your family
TreborHG_93 You are not selling yourself as a product on a commercial. You are "selling" the value you will bring to the job. To do that effectively you have to match your background, experience, skills and education to the basic requirements of the job and communicate that match to the employer. It is far more than stating you can meet the basic requirements of the job like getting to work on time. Employers will believe well thought out persuasive presentations about why you are a good fit with the position. You will be completely calm during an interview if you are focusing on how your experience will be of benefit to the company and you are expressing your "real" skills and abilities. If you want to learn about a good way of preparing to present yourself in an interview go to www.interviewbest.com. Eric
TreborHG_93 now you understand Satan's world you want more money? be like me and my children live the lies believe the lies....this world is empty full of nothing but money vs truth is the struggle
You're right Trebor but you have to be yourself with a sprinkle of confidence, you can't be something you're not. The bullshitters can live their lives if they want. It always backfires, eventually..
I have an interview tomorrow. I'm glad I came across this. I always like to prepare and freshen up my answers, skills, and stories. It's easy to forget your shining moments when you haven't been on an interview in years.
The comments are too much. This video is valuable with all the golden nuggets and it's free on the open internet. Even the audio is great for a phone cam recording and all yall do is complaining about the "breathing"? This planet is doomed.
This is exactly the same what I thought. Great video, we all should be thankful that the person recoreded this and uploaded on youtube. Great value for all of us
Leanne, I am glad you took the time to watch the video, it will put you ahead of most of your competition. Even casual jobs require good interview skills and interviewing is something you will be doing a lot throughout your career. Good luck with the interview and I hope you enjoy the job. Eric
This video has legit changed my life. I’m not joking. I apply your thoughts to everyday interactions. Always think about the value you are providing to someone else…not the benefit to you. Thank you Eric.
Sorry it has taken me so long to respond, I've been busy working at the job I interviewed for! Thank you very much! It was my one and only interview and I think your tips helped me land the job!
Eric Kramer I had another interview for my next job, I followed the video again but unfortunately did not get the position. I answered all of the HR questions by the video and I think the HR representatives didn't seem to like these answers ...maybe because they were all right answers. Walking into the room, it already seemed like they didn't like me (not sure why). The room was full of negativity, the people looked so down and bored and I tried to bring the spirit up with my positive, energetic, and enthusiastic energy. I was talking to them like a conversation, like adults would... answering questions with confidence. They emailed me saying they admired how well I was prepared and my enthusiasm, but it was a bit too informal for the environment they have. Another thing they said was that they admire my confidence but there is such thing as too much confidence. They said make sure you seek clarification if you do not understand something (which is stupid because at times they wanted a certain answer but didn't ask the specific question...and as adults this misunderstanding was dealt with at the interview through conversation.) That is the only feedback I got. Eric what are your thoughts on professionalism and the confidence issue? Regards, Howard
TheCashistrash Yeah, even when I was working during my internship...the guys said it's usually about the people you know. Let's see now. I have another interview tomorrow (phone with HR) in the same company I had my internship (my dream company). I am very desperate for a job now as a recent graduate. I do not want to go for further studies (Masters/PHD) because I hear the same thing about overqualified people, its just a waste of my money (I want to be making money). For this new job I am being screened for, I have a network buddy who has shared some more information with me about the job. She said she would try and put in a word for me if she gets a chance. Let's see if I get the job.
I'm 1:00 in and this guy is really good! A lot of people think interviews are just answering questions like a robot but it's actually a conversation!!!!
Laziness is never a good issue to bring up in a job interview. It is similar to saying "I am dishonest and I steal but I am workintg on it." Choose another of your weaknesses, one that is not central to the job to which you are applying. For example, if you are going for a job in accounting don't say your weakness is working with numbers. Say, "My weakness is making sure I communicate project details however, I am beginning to take daily notes and my communication is better.
Fhaze4, You are absolutely correct. This is why being prepared is so crucial, it reduces anxiety. If you want to be fully prepared, develop and interview presentation - www.interviewbest.com
Mr. Kramer, you keep saying in this video *We Are All Adults* and to *Have a conversation.* However, applicants are not allowed to ask what kind of a salary/hourly rate the job offers. It is like the money we will be earning (laboring for, not for doing nothing) is some top secret thing that cannot be discussed until after the applicant and company goes through the whole circus of the application and interview process...which can sometimes go on for months depending on the industry, amount of applicants, written examinations, second/third interviews. There are thousands of job listings with no salary information. Why not just be as you say "an adult" and just be straight up with the applicant? Is that (honesty) not what the employer wants from the applicant? For example, if a person looking for his/her next job finds a listing for a position that would require relocating and that he/she wants and qualifies for and there is no salary information, the prospective applicant does not really know if that job would pay sufficient enough to relocate...again, to work for that company. Thank you for any information.
Not about being an Adult, one person is trained in a formal dialect, the interviewer. And the other person, has little training or only speaks in a causal manner. It's about being prepared and getting comfortable for the screening process.
Great stuff! I particularly liked the point about always rescheduling the first phone interview. One should not just take the call at random and start talking about the profile. One must schedule the profile discussion for a later suitable date/time. This was a really good point!
Fantastic video. With great tips. It’s amazing how the small things can trip you up. For example you might not bad mouth your old boss. But criticizing your old employers facilities or equipment in an attempt to create raport with the interviewer or to flatter the interviewer can just mess you up big time. Thanks Mr. Kramer I’ll check out your book.
Hands down the best vid on UA-cam, the kid scoffing every 5 seconds was annoying but the information was what I needed badly. I actually ended one interview with the employer talking about problems with their section and my solution...never realized it was a trap. I ALWAYS get the “we have others to interview, we should let you know by....”routine”....I get pissed. Why waste my time if you’re not going to hire me?
Eric Kramer It is absolutely a terrific offer which I accepted with a great compensation. Your words gave me much needed boost, poise and confidence to engage meaningfully during the interview. Thank you again. I am your success story!
Well , the entire video was very helpful from the start to the end I was selling myself to the interviewer with the answers what the interviewer wanted to hear .. Like want i did in my previous job,, my achievements , my problem solving skills all backed with examples. the most important .. To ask the interviewer questions.. I asked the exact question and Voila The interviewer was impressed ...
This video has been so helpful! I have been given so many interviews but haven't landed the jobs and watching this through, I have seen the things I have been doing incorrectly. I really appreciate your willingness to spread these tips to people and posting it on UA-cam. Although I'm applying for small jobs to do while I am in college, I feel that these tips will vastly help with any interview. Thank you again! -Tommy
Eric, Great video! I have a final interview tomorrow with Frito-Lay and watching your video has given me so much more confidence than I had going in to today. I took notes during the video and I plan to use what I've learned at the interview. I'll let you know how it goes!
Hi Eric- I stumbled across your video by chance while scrambling to prepare for a last minute interview call that surfaced up for me. I was going bananans, rummaging through the myriad of information on the web, with little to no progress. I am so lucky i came across your video. You covered a lot of great points, which got loads of ideas for STAR stories in my head and overall increased my confidence in my own interview taking skills. Your section on story telling was especially good. I was able to do well in my interviews and eventually got a great job offer. Thank you so much! This video helped alot, you Rock!
Great advice, I will definitely be practicing some of these techniques for my next interview.. on a technical note, next time tell the camera operator to make sure they don't sit next to the guy wearing scuba gear.
Eric, your great what more can I say. I'll add a short story , I interviewed with a very large company and they used canned printed questions and they all take notes. Some of these questions were of the five star business and other things. Eventually I was tossed around to various people at different levels on more interviews through several weeks. But the same questions kept on coming back. OK, so deal is every time I went for another interview, well to say the least I was becoming an expert at preparation, what to anticipate and I kept on refining my answers. The company helped me become an artist in there world of interviewing. I got to the point of making up great answers for all the same questions, it was getting just to easy at the end. I don't know if you ever covered these type of situations. Oh yeah hired !
Tedede, I am very pleased that the video helped. My mission in life is to help people find jobs they love and earn the money they deserve. I hope the job you chooses does both. Eric
I have a wonderful opportunity tomorrow and I am studying and watching videos similar to this to touch up on my interviewing skills. I have read many comments that this helped and I am hoping and praying that it will. Thanks for this
I think that this hit a key point of people never really learn how to interview. There's a lot more than what's here, but it's a good start. What do you do about the others who have heard the same advice quite a few times. Create a larger distance between you and the next candidate! It's not about selling yourself, it's about selling your value AFTER you've connected with your interviewer.
If you are interested in advanced strategies for differentiating yourself check out my other videos and read my book Active Interviewing: Branding, Selling and Presenting Yourself to Win Your Next Interview (Cengage Publishing).
Eric, I really appreciated your presentation because you help us viewers put these interview challenges in perspective, by reminding us that we are adults. Your tips were very helpful. I was recently able to have a successful interview in a small company in this competitive market. This was one of best interviews that I had in a long time and it brought my spirits and energy back up. Although I haven’t received a job offer yet, I feel like I am getting closer to my targeted job search again especially as a recent adult college graduate a few months ago. I used a combination of your tips with the resources from career services at the college I recently graduated from.
Dligon01, Thank you for the positive feedback. May I suggest you get a copy of my book Active Interviewing:Branding, Selling and Presenting Yourself to Win Your Next Job (on Amazon). You will learn a lot from the book. Also go to interviewbest.com and put together an interview presentation- it will make a huge difference in your interviews. Eric
Great video! I have an interview with Hot Topic tomorrow at 3PM and this video helped me a lot and raised my confidence. Took notes and put a portfolio together while watching this. Thank you!
Hiring is a difficult decision- bad hire costs a lot of time and money. There are multiple rounds of interviews so that a number of staff can participate and they can clarify any questions they may have about the candidates. On a third round of interviews you may get the same questions or questions that clarify concerns they have about you. I suggest using your interview presentation in the third round with modifications from what you have learned from your questions in rounds 1 and 2. Eric
The IT company I work for is restructuring and in the process there will be limited layoffs and everyone currently employed is interviewing for the positions that will result from the merge. Basically everyone there already knows how to do the job and what is expected of them, with varying degrees of proficiency. I was already confident as I am a top performer but thanks to this video I feel I have a real edge now, thank you!
Shiznoz, A real advantage would be having an interview presentation to go through with your bosses. Check out www.interviewbest.com to develop a presentation. Trust me it will be a huge advantage. Eric PS the best performers don't always get selected- prepare carefully for your interview.
@@EricKramerCareerCoach it's rarely the best performaners. Job interviewers don't care about competency but the ability to fabricate stories and exaggerate/outright lie about your strengths.
Thanks Eric, very useful. some noted the background noise more than the content of the vid, i guess they will be worrying the colour of their tie in the interview.
Eric you nailed it. Awesome that you viewed taped this and shared it here on UA-cam. Thanks. Public Adjuster Careers - NJ Public Adjuster - Public Insurance Adjuster Michael Martinez
Eric, thanks so much for this video! I just aced an interview that I couldn't have without the help it gave me. Some of what is said makes so much sense, but I really never gave it much thought. Things like how it's about them, not you. The car salesman example really made that hit home. Awesome job & thanks for posting this! I do agree about the cameraman though; at certain points I was starting to feel a bit sea sick from it. Maybe next time a tripod could be used? Just a thought.
Dale, Congratulations on landing a terrific internship- you must have interviewed well. I hope the video helps with subsequent interviews for other positions, of which I am sure you will have many. Eric
LOL. Love the money question--when he was a clinician, he would ask about couples' sex lives and people were very graphic, down to the nitty-gritty details. When he would ask how much someone made, people were shocked and would say "Isn't that a little too personal?" Gets to the core of what really matters in American society--money and status. Sex, it's important, but not as important as money!
Nasir, What you are talking about is overcoming your fears in the interview. Ask yourself "What am I afraid of?" Once you know what you are afraid of you can begin preparing for your interviews in a way that takes care of the fears. Eric
Hello Mr. Kramer. In the video, you talked about the follow up letter. I had a phone interview that led to an upcoming face to face interview. To the person who interviewed me on the phone, I sent a thank you email and at the end of my email I wrote " I look forward to being a part of the team soon" Do you think this is going to affect my upcoming face to face interview? How do I make a better impression of myself? Thank you
The best interview tip I've ever gotten! Watching this video actually makes me wanna pursue the study of communications. Many thanks to Mr. Kramer. Combined with the sound effect of the video recorder, it was wholly engaging presentation:)
Answering "behavioral" interview questions such as the ones you write about can be challenging. I suggest using the SOAR method which I describe in detail in my book and at some length in the video. It gives you a format for answering the question and focuses your response. I have found that candidates who prepare an interview presentation go into interviews more confident and perform better- you may want to try preparing an interview presentation.
Fresh, There is a lot of information available about salary negotiation. I write about it in my book Active Interviewing: Branding, Selling and Presenting Yourself to Win Your Next Job. You can also learn a lot about salary negotiation by reading any basic information about negotiating and applying it to salary negotiation. The bottom line to salary negotiation is to know your value in the employment marketplace and then be sure to negotiate for your value. Eric
I have an interview on soon....I meet most of the requirements. I had a phone interview and the lady thought I was energetic :) I took it as a complement. Anyways, she asked me if I had experience with a certain software their company uses...I told her "I frankly don't" and went on telling her how i'm a fast learned etc. OKAY, so if I do ask the question "based on my background and skills, what do you think" And their response is we believe you don't have the experience..What is a good comeback?
Do not ask questions regarding self assessment. Only do that if they denied giving you the position so you can use the feedback as a learning experience. Ask questions that are only job related. When they asked you about a certain software, It was good that you answered that you were a fast learner, but how do they know that. You have to also prove that to them during the response.
Hi Eric I am just back from a job interview, for a support worker position in Mental Health. I think it went quite well, thanks to your advise. Sell sell and sell yourself I appreciate that the techniques you explain are transferable to other fields of employment. Could you maybe give some advice in the same scenario but in the social work field. Could also advise on good UK website for these techniques, because the US approach differs across the pond sometimes. Thanks again
I enjoyed this video, even though it is advanced for me, a person out of high school, it makes me feel more mature and how to understand the real world a little bit better. I will follow up to let you know if I get the job.
I found this video to be really helpful but I think you should a video on how to get an interview in the first place. Some companies don't even call you and I know there are a variety of opinions on how to get one such as calling them before they call you, requesting an interview, or emailing them. I'd like to see your insight on this since I've only gotten 2 interviews without having to call and other times i've been put off when I do call.
Hi Eric, Thanks for posting this video. I am a high school graduate preparing for my first ever job interview at a college. I have trouble assessing myself and looking through my past experiences that can present me in the best possible light. How can I start looking for them without heavily relying on my resume?
When is it appropriate to provide your business card to the employer? In the interview AND the follow through letter? Is that too many times? Thank you
Thanks Eric! I have cleared 3rd round now . My references has been submitted, but still employer did not contact my references. I am scared .. are they going to change their mind? its been more than a week now and they have not contacted my references. What should i do? I dont want to look pushy.
This video is so helpful. I was going on. a lot of interviews, and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong, and this has helped me so much. Thank you for posting this up.
Chakravarthy, I am very happy the video helped your job search. Could you give me some details about how the video helped you secure a job. Thanks Eric
@@EricKramerCareerCoach I started your system when I picked up your book "Active Interviewing: Branding, Selling, and Presenting Yourself ..." back in 2014. I found it very effective more so during the social distancing phase of the past year's pandemic. My previous job was closed down due to the pandemic. I found it helped me in the following ways: 1. Made me more confident in the interview phase 2. Prematched the skills/qualifications based on the job description in a clearly stated easy to follow format 3. Proves ingenuity and that extra effort that makes you stick out as a prospective candidate. Yes, I beleive the job that I want will become a fruition soon, I just finished the worksite tour and will be surprised if I do not get it.
Dear Mr. Kramer and Mr. Camera man, Thank you for very useful information and for recording the whole lecture. It's tiring to keep the camera still for a long time, I hope, your arm didn't get cramps. Thanking both of you, I will use your tips of advice at my second and third interviews, when I will be invited next.
Is there another version of this video? The camera person sighing & not focusing on the slide long enough/properly was annoying,I got to 5.23 & had to turn it off :(

By far the most informative interview video i saw... I thank you for posting this and ill update you when i get the job next week or the week after that...
Well thanks a lot Eric ur video is great I went on a interview today I got the gob!! It's for sales telemarketing I stay training next week and the pay is reasonable thanks for the video 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Ahmed, I have a section in my book Active Interviewing; Branding, Selling and Presenting Yourself to Win Your Next Job about managing panel interviews. You can get the book on Amazon.
Thank you Eric for that video. Even though the quality could be better (e.g. filming you from a better angle, with a higher resolution, a microphone, and adding your PowerPoint slides on the side of the screen). The content is great. I liked especially the 3 strategies for naming a weakness.
Thanks - It was a spur of the moment recording using a cell phone. I wish the quality was better as well. You can check my other videos which have better quality as well as my book - www.activeinterviewing.com
Great information. A problem I am experiencing, is working as an independent truck driver there are a lot of things never covered in these self help videos. A the H.R. just assumes its the drivers fault for having gaps in employment, or your fired for refusing to drive unsafe equipment, out of hours or no authority to carry the freight. Heck in 2001, trucking companies were going out of business at an unbelievable rate. I had 13 jobs/contracts just to keep a roof. Means no references. Drivers are not looked at as he is in compliance with FMSCA or DOT regs. or the industry is tough. Any advice.
Hi mate, from a fellow truckie from the Land of Oz. Some of the problems you mention are pretty common over here too, although there is now some effort to reduce the exploitation through the introduction of Chain of Responsibility legislation, which sets out the obligations of people at every step of the transport/logistics chain. The latest version, due to become active at the end of the month, includes a personal responsibility for the transport managers of large consignors to ensure that all drivers and logistics personnel in their supply chain are properly paid and that all OH&S requirements are being met. The way I handle the problem you describe is to be up-front about jobs I've left because of bad management (there have been several over the years), without mentioning names of employers. I've never been out of work for more than a couple of days using this approach. It has the advantage of weeding out people you wouldn't want to work for, who will be worried about employing you if you have a history of standing up for yourself, while good employers will see it as a plus. Another tip is to seek references from clients rather than trucking firms. A good word from a happy client is worth a hundred formula references from dodgy employers. Good luck with it mate, keep the rubber side down.
This legit helped me land the job. Interviewed at 10am got offer at 5pm same day. Bless up

They said make sure you seek clarification if you do not understand something (which is stupid because at times they wanted a certain answer but didn't ask the specific question...and as adults this misunderstanding was dealt with at the interview through conversation.)
That is the only feedback I got.
Eric what are your thoughts on professionalism and the confidence issue?
Regards,
Howard
All I can focus on is the heavy breathing of the camera person~
Yes! The content of Mr. Kramer's presentation is excellent, but the heavy breathing is extremely distracting.
Gina Lola I thought it was just me. I can't tell you how annoyed and bored I am of the heavy breathing of the camera person.
yeah what a dork sounds like a scuba O2 tank constantly leaking air
scuba O2 tank?
Gina Lola stop being so negative
eric, i have a job interview for the first time tomorrow and this has boosted my confidence so much thank you!
Eric thanks to you I got a great job as a sales agent.Thank you for your great teachings.
I'm 1:00 in and this guy is really good! A lot of people think interviews are just answering questions like a robot but it's actually a conversation!!!!
A Dot - Thanks you got the main point of the presentation - create a conversation!!
I got a great job after watching this. 'It's a conversation.' Keeping that in mind makes all the difference! Thank you.
Tim,
I am really pleased this video helped you land a job. Congratulations- I hope the job works out great.
Eric
Laziness is never a good issue to bring up in a job interview. It is similar to saying "I am dishonest and I steal but I am workintg on it." Choose another of your weaknesses, one that is not central to the job to which you are applying. For example, if you are going for a job in accounting don't say your weakness is working with numbers. Say, "My weakness is making sure I communicate project details however, I am beginning to take daily notes and my communication is better.
This video helped me receiving two biggest job offers in my entire life.
Stephen that's terrific. Can you write more about how it helped?
Anxiety plays a major reason on why people do so poorly on job interviews.
He also stated that you can ask that information during the phone call/ phone interview.
Jamie A
Jamie,
Correct - You can ask during the phone interview "Please tell me about the job requirements and the salary range."
Eric
Not about being an Adult, one person is trained in a formal dialect, the interviewer. And the other person, has little training or only speaks in a causal manner. It's about being prepared and getting comfortable for the screening process.
I guess Glassdoor wasn't a thing back then.
Vittoria Colonna
Thank you I hope your interviewers go well.
Eric
Hands down the best vid on UA-cam, the kid scoffing every 5 seconds was annoying but the information was what I needed badly. I actually ended one interview with the employer talking about problems with their section and my solution...never realized it was a trap. I ALWAYS get the “we have others to interview, we should let you know by....”routine”....I get pissed. Why waste my time if you’re not going to hire me?
Thank you for the compliment.
Eric
That person's breathing was beyond excruciating like seriously...
Passing 170,000 views- a highly acclaimed video about interview strategies.
Wonderful thank you
Eric Kramer hi sir this presentation was very helpful. Thank you for sharing
That was pretty interesting. It is my very first internship interview tomorrow and this video helped me a lot. Thank you !
Thank you for the video. I landed my dream job after watching the video more than a countable number of times!
Oluremi
That's great I am very happy for you. I hope the Job is terrific.
Eric
Eric Kramer It is absolutely a terrific offer which I accepted with a great compensation. Your words gave me much needed boost, poise and confidence to engage meaningfully during the interview. Thank you again. I am your success story!
Well , the entire video was very helpful from the start to the end
I was selling myself to the interviewer with the answers what the interviewer wanted to hear .. Like want i did in my previous job,, my achievements , my problem solving skills all backed with examples.
the most important .. To ask the interviewer questions..
I asked the exact question and Voila
The interviewer was impressed ...
Graduating for the University of Wisconsin this May. Have my first interview in my field tomorrow. I have found this seminar very helpful!
I have an interview with Olive Garden Tuesday and I am verrrrry nerviest but I'm taking notes and I'm gonna incorporate into my interview thanks Eric
Sir
I cracked my very first interview because of your tips.
Thank you 🙏🏼
AngsheetaMusic
I am very pleased my suggestions were helpful. Good luck on your new job.
Watching and applying the advice in this video, I am certain, helped me land a job in the first interview I did out of college.
This was so helpful! I am graduating next week and have an interview Thursday for an RN position. This has really helped calm my nerves! Thank you.

Eric,
Great video!
Thanks Vick - I hope it helps you land a job.
Tedede,
I am very pleased that the video helped.
Thanks for this
Got a interview tomorrow, will use these advices, they are golden !
This is head and shoulders above all the other videos on job interviews- clear, detailed and thought provoking- thank you Eric
Tommy thank you I am glad you found it helpful.
Eric
Note to self: find different camera person.
Otherwise, good info.

Dligon01,
Thank you for the positive feedback.
Thank you!
I have an interview for an administrative assistant position tomorrow. This helps a lot! Thanks!
Great presentation, co-founded a non-profit and directed it for 21 years, chose to move on... It's tough being on the other side. Helpful tips
I'm excited I have an interview. Watching this video again taking notes.
Shiznoz,
A real advantage would be having an interview presentation to go through with your bosses. Check out www.interviewbest.com to develop a presentation. Trust me it will be a huge advantage.
Eric
PS the best performers don't always get selected- prepare carefully for your interview.
Too good, worth watching for 45 min
The heavy breathing is so distracting.
this reeaalllly helped!!!! i have an interview today in about 3 hours.
i feel way more confident in myself thanks Eric!
RudeBoi419,
I hope the interview went well. Please let me know how it went.
Eric
Dale,
Congratulations on landing a terrific internship- you must have interviewed well.
Studying this for my interview tomorrow. This is really helping me boost my confidence for the conversation 😌
sounds like this was filmed by the world of warcraft guy in south park.
Nasir,
What you are talking about is overcoming your fears in the interview.
To the person who interviewed me on the phone, I sent a thank you email and at the end of my email I wrote " I look forward to being a part of the team soon"
Do you think this is going to affect my upcoming face to face interview? How do I make a better impression of myself? Thank you
I have an oral board panel interview next week. Do you have any advice for that kind of interviews?
Thanks!
The best interview tip I've ever gotten! Watching this video actually makes me wanna pursue the study of communications. Many thanks to Mr. Kramer. Combined with the sound effect of the video recorder, it was wholly engaging presentation:)
The person who made this video keeps breathing heavy. Wtf
Hes on tren
This is a great video. Focus on the message. It helped me land my last job
THE.VOICE.OF.REASON I was
maybe he is connected to a scuba oxygen tank?
Its boring😤😴😪😨😧
Answering "behavioral" interview questions such as the ones you write about can be challenging. I suggest using the SOAR method which I describe in detail in my book and at some length in the video. It gives you a format for answering the question and focuses your response.
I have found that candidates who prepare an interview presentation go into interviews more confident and perform better- you may want to try preparing an interview presentation.
Fresh,
There is a lot of information available about salary negotiation.
Hi Eric
I am just back from a job interview, for a support worker position in Mental Health. I think it went quite well, thanks to your advise. Sell sell and sell yourself
I appreciate that the techniques you explain are transferable to other fields of employment.
Could you maybe give some advice in the same scenario but in the social work field.
Could also advise on good UK website for these techniques, because the US approach differs across the pond sometimes.
Thanks again
I liked your point on Features Vs Benefits, it might have been something that was holding me back... thanks.
Thank you for your reply Eric. Therefore I should NOT ask "how and when should I follow up with you?" if I am being represented by a headhunter.
Hi Eric,
Thanks for posting this video.
Thank you for posting this up.
melissa,
I am very pleased it was so helpful. Check out www.interviewbest.com for further interviewing help.

3 Sucessful job offers the past year because of what I learned reading his book. Thank you sir.

I found it helped me in the following ways:
1. Made me more confident in the interview phase
2. Prematched the skills/qualifications based on the job description in a clearly stated easy to follow format

Nope
The advice is incredible. I'm going to watch this video one more time with a pen in my hand. Thank you!
Valentine B,
Thank you. I just uploaded a new video to UA-cam that I think you will get a lot from as well- Get the FUD (Fear Uncertainty and Doubt) Out of Your Job Interviews.
Eric
By far the most informative interview video i saw... I thank you for posting this and ill update you when i get the job next week or the week after that...
Aj Cabs u got the job? How are you now
9 years later, I am still breathing very deeply. My loans say thanks.
I am so pleased to hear this. I guess your loans are thanking me because they have lost so much weight :)
Well thanks a lot Eric ur video is great I went on a interview today I got the gob!! It's for sales telemarketing I stay training next week and the pay is reasonable thanks for the video 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Congratulations- I hope the job works out for you.
Eric
Ahmed,
I have a section in my book Active Interviewing; Branding, Selling and Presenting Yourself to Win Your Next Job about managing panel interviews.
I wish I would have watched this before I interviewed yesterday
Great information.
A problem I am experiencing, is working as an independent truck driver there are a lot of things never covered in these self help videos. A the H.R. just assumes its the drivers fault for having gaps in employment, or your fired for refusing to drive unsafe equipment, out of hours or no authority to carry the freight.
Heck in 2001, trucking companies were going out of business at an unbelievable rate.
I had 13 jobs/contracts just to keep a roof. Means no references. Drivers are not looked at as he is in compliance
with FMSCA or DOT regs. or the industry is tough.
Excellent tips. A tripod would be beautiful. I'll see what more information I can get from you. Thank you!
This video is very helpful.
