I think we did a fair job finding something usable in the thick of it 😅 next spring or following, Il saw thru that bottom mass to encourage stronger roots where desired! Cheers Tom
That’s great Tom, The Nesting birds also love it this time of year free packing and insulation for their nests! Win, win enhancing the garden and helping nature!
That was brilliant Sam. I'm so so impressed with those roots on that air layer - perfect radial roots. Excellent work mate. I know what you mean about the Japanese maple roots. They fuse together and create a pancake / turtle back like nebari. I'm working on a few at the moment and it's very slow but enjoyable work.
Thanks Alex, I was fairly blown away myself! That was quite a task finding the initial root plane! You summed up was I was struggling to describe perfectly! Thank you 😊
Nice repotting for root growth and a spring start.

I'm jealous. It is going to be a gorgeous tree in the future.

Nice video looks like a great start for that bonsai cheers 😮
Thank you! I see some good potential in these 2 stumps
Great job 👍
Thank you!
Corking video Sam. I love them, got a couple, nothing as big as them. You'll end up with brilliant material there.
Thank you Kevin, I sure hope so. I think there’s plenty of potential for creating something unique 😊
Old potting moss is good for the garden. I put all my old soil into the garden & landscaping, small roots & all.

Thanks ☺️
Have you tried sharpening your old saw to improve its cutting ability. One tooth at a time and you should have new life in that old saw.
I have a lot of Patience although I havant tested thus far yet 😅 it has crossed my mind! I can vouch defiantly good steel used to make these saws!
