He already did one a long time ago, he needs to do one again because I’m sure he’s gotten new basses since the last time he did a bass collection video
Just ordered your book! Can’t wait. Just started out on bass, after 16 years of guitar. Birthday tomorrow, so decided to treat myself 😊 Love your content ❤

Hey Nate, great to see you're playing an Overload Achilles! I've been rocking my 4 string for over a year now, altough I have another pickup configuration. Absolute beast and stunning to look at!
I play a fender rumble as a practice amp and a fender bassman 500 for gigs And use a hx stomp and a optical valve comp and I can get all kinds of crazy amp tones Would love to see how this compares
Hell yea, I double that shout out to yee mum. Being a dad now, and how my back is, I'd say have fun with your cab. But this is an beyond practical and yet incredible one by ampeg. The portaflex b 15 voicing sounded aAmazing and great review again Nate. You're a legend brotha and wanna say I've learned and absorbed quite a bit from you over the years
I know this video is from a year ago but it totally helped me decide to buy the pedal, I have an old peavey mark IV head, I’m going to run on chanel A the SGT and on the chanel B my Darkglass B7K ultra, thanks for this review
I think the Helix/Axe FX etc has replaced these types of pedals if you’re after bang for your buck. But man. You nail it every time you pick up a bass!!
Great video new subscriber here. I'll have to check this out I've been an Ampeg user since the late 70s always 8x10 cabs have been switching between SVT classic heads & rack mounted SVT pro. Can't beat the sound & at 64 yrs old still don't mind lugging them around.
Could you elaborate on those two mods on the Jazz bass? I guess the translucent piece of plastic (is it acryl?) between the pickups is to provide a flexible thumb rest? And the gaffer tape on the strings is to get rid of unwanted string vibrations on the head plate? Isn't the string retainer enough? I also have a P-bass where the A-string is also buzzing at the head because there's not enough force pulling the string to the nut... now I use one of these fret wraps.. looks ugly xD
I'd love to hear you play on a 6 string bass that has 45-170 guage. Curious on thoughts and playability of that thick of a gauge for low notes and utilizing sub harmonics instead of the tonic frequency.
@@reggaebass1857 Nate is the dude demonstrating the pedal.I understand what you're saying but if I could play like him I'd probably show off too.He is currently touring with Porcupine Tree.
I can see a future of Bass players using these type amp modelers and forsaking their traditional amps, I know Geddy Lee doesn’t use his old amps just his YYZ modeler rack
i was waiting a bit before getting an aguilar tone hammer ( like everybody else) but man now i'm conflicted. the fact that there is no cab sim, drive/distortion level on the aguilar ( having to mess around with the ags so its hard to toggle it mid song) made me wait for month because i was never fully convinced but this Ampeg di tho. now i don't know what to do.
They're both excellent... but most days I lean towards the one with built-in compression and more cab sim options (the SGT-DI). The ReVolt's built-in FX Loop and MIDI capability give it a lot of value too. I'd most often go with the SGT-DI for a smaller board/all-in-one, and go with the ReVolt for a bigger board running MIDI. That's just me though. And most important to consider, which DI best suits your sound.
@Nate Navarro Thank you! I would say that the Ampeg SGT is THE most popular pedal right and it's sold out almost everywhere, but it also sounds like it will be worth the wait! Thank you sooo much!
first of all, $400. ! second.. I have owned a 77 SVT and really, most of the sounds in this pedal would never come out of the amp! I have a Tech21 bassvt.. don’t even use it that much..

It's a daunting task, but I just might do it if you guys keep asking. haha

+1
I have feeling that will be long video 😊
@@NateNavarro please do it!!!!!
This has been the most complete showing of the AMPEG SGT DI. Thank you 🙏🏽
so sick!!

Happy early birthday, Coen! Thank you so much for watching and for ordering my book. I hope you get a ton out of it. :D
It’s amazing book, but not easy.

Unbelievable that this comes out right when I was looking for a DI box.
This is perfect! I was looking for something like this, and BAM! There it is!
That B15 slides the tone perfectly into the mix!
What impressed the most is the clean tone of that Spector.
Well, it's a Spector.
I love Spectors. Jason recorded a lot of 'The Black Album' with one.
That spector sounds incredible Nate, thanks for the video.
Any time! Thanks, Leonardo. :D
Triple aguilar loaded bass looks monstrous
Sounds pretty great! And I sure don't miss lugging my old SVT 810 around!
that fender ultra is ❤🔥❤🔥
I think the sound of your amplification system is amazing, could you do a neural capture of your system?
Whoop! Great playing and Tones!
Thanks, Morten!

Awesome video. Awesome playing.
Seems awesome great video you did a really great job demonstrating this thing. Love the sound of those tape wounds through it.
I use a Fender Rumble 200 with a 15" speaker and I love it. This demo has me wanting to explore this unit because of its versatility. Let's roll!!!

Sick Nate. I use SansAmp variants but this sounds pretty dope too. One day I'll get all the new toys to make videos about too... one day.
PS the Ampeg 810 fridge was never a good idea and we can stop pretending that it was. :)
wow excellent playing Nate

the ultra high and ultra low settings on ampeg is always on my amp. i agree it makes it punch like a mutha!
Dude you rock! Thanks for your help bro🤙🤘🤙🤘👍👍👍👍🤘
Stop it! I'm still trying to relieve the g.a.s. from the last video! 😂 Dear god man!
One of the best bass demos I've seen.
Holy !! The tone !!!
I like those warm sounds a lot.

It helps to have an NS-2...great video!
Beautiful Overload Achilles you got there.
Seems to be like a "must have upgrade" for every diehard ampeg fan.
💥Thats sounds good💥
So you can run this direct out similar to an axfx or helix, correct?
Boom! got it!!!!
What can be better, than new video
Would you please do a comparison/contrast between this pedal and a Darkglass bass pedal?
Hi Nate. Could you please tell me, if you remeber, wich middle frequency did you cut at 6:19?
Could you elaborate on those two mods on the Jazz bass?

Nate, what did you think about their compressor? Is it any good?
Watching Nate just makes me feel so inadequate. And I've been playing 50 years.😩
I don’t know who he is but why they play so crazy just to demonstrate the Ampeg, I’d prefer to hear what it does from the lows upwards

@@kevmac1230 cool, thanks for that 👍
Does it have pre/post eq for foh signal or always post?
Great demo Nate, question who makes the headless bass?
This might be my favorite sounding preamp I’ve seen you review! Love it
Yes! The refrigerator (8x10)
What format are the IR files and where is the DL ?
Do those cabinets imitations sound like under a blanket or so only it seems to me?
I can see a future of Bass players using these type amp modelers and forsaking their traditional amps, I know Geddy Lee doesn’t use his old amps just his YYZ modeler rack
What strings and gauges do you use on your Fender Jazz bass? I adore your playing!
Nice playing.
If it had a HPF or proper 4 band eq it might be interesting, but for Ampeg fans only I fear.
HI Nate , which path did the bass sound take in the video? directly via XLR out?
i was waiting a bit before getting an aguilar tone hammer ( like everybody else) but man now i'm conflicted. the fact that there is no cab sim, drive/distortion level on the aguilar ( having to mess around with the ags so its hard to toggle it mid song) made me wait for month because i was never fully convinced but this Ampeg di tho. now i don't know what to do.
i like my MXR m-80. the tone hammer sounds great but the mxr feels like i cant get a few more sounds out of it.
Awesome clip, does the connectivity mean that you can use this box as an amp and plug it directly through a speaker cable into a smaller cabinet?
No, it would still need a powered amp
But you could go straight into the pa nicely
POR MAS PEDAL Q COMPREMOS NO VAMOS A PODER TOCAR ASI👏👏👏
Which one do you like this, or the Two tones revolt Bass?
They're both excellent... but most days I lean towards the one with built-in compression and more cab sim options (the SGT-DI). That boy good
is it stupid to run something like this into an existing amp like a Markbass 500 limited?
how much are these?
reminds me of billy sheehan sound
Can the IRs be used if the preamp is bypassed?
Yes
what bass was the ltd?
That's an LTD D-5. :)

Fabulosa DI ... !!!!!!!;
Would have been nice if you would have stuck with just one bass on the whole video to truly represent the box!

I have an usual issue with this video , Nate’s playing is so far beyond the common man , it’s hard to focus on the product 😀
so mad, I just got the other ampeg di and this clearly destroys it
