    Caddies shouldn’t be allowed on the greens or to advise on the upcoming putt. Slows down the game too much and removes a required skill from the player.

    I have felt for years that golfers should not have caddies at all. I figured I was in the minority on this one. Force the golfer to make their own decisions. Sure, they will have a swing coach, etc before the tournament, but once the round starts, I feel it should be only the golfer.

    No lines on balls, no caddie help. They have clock on hat when they get to ball it starts and players have that long to hit :). They can hold epic Cheba Hut grub for players that’s it.

    I AGREE!!! If you are a PRO why have a caddy.
    I would like to see one or two tournaments where there is no caddy and they can figure this themselves. I think this clearly shows who is the best Player in golf and they need to navigate the course, id what club to hit and read the greens.

    Speed Golf - I don't wear a glove when i'm putting - ever. Wearing a glove putting makes it more difficult to make sure my hands are gripping the putter the same each time.
    The ProV1 Yellow is a great fit for me and my swing along with my current bag of clubs AND the yellow cover is easier for me to follow in flight and spot on fairway, green, rough, etc. I have confidence in it.
    Mr Caddy PhD. - Carry the bag, shot advisor, steadying force, unfair advantage? Does a caddy help speed up play or actually slow it down? Interesting thought, give a PGA Tour Pro a push cart and a laser range finder and they're just like me. I kinda like that. I would miss the caddy's though.

    So if yellow makes a statistically significant difference to white, could the split colour balls like the tour divide potentially cause issues to players depending on how the orientation of ball on fairway/tee?

    • @tomlassar1089
      @tomlassar1089 Рік тому +1

      I've been using the white/yellow Z Star Divide for over a year. No question it helps with alignment on the tee and putting green. On the fairway?---I don't even notice, but since I'm usually the only one in my group playing this, it quickly helps me determine which ball is mine !

    • @davidrolfe1843
      @davidrolfe1843 Рік тому

      @@tomlassar1089 I was thinking more along the lines of if you were hitting the yellow side you'd come up shorter than if you got the white side. And spin rates differing, or even causing dispersion issues. Probably so minor it would never be noticed out on the course, but if you've a swing robot free it might be an interesting test.
      I'm all for identifying your own ball quickly, I use yellow for that too like your divide one. They must look cool on little chips where you can see them spinning!

    I mentioned this in the forum, but didn’t get much response/traction, so I’ll bring it here too.
    Has MGS, or any one of the testers here, ever done a performance comparison of the same club head-to-head new versus used. I’m talking same manufacturer, same model, same loft, same shaft, same grip, same everything but a New/10 version versus a Like New/9, version versus a Good/8 version versus an Average/7 version versus a Poor/6 or below version?
    I am very intrigued to see if condition effects performance and at what level (if any) does it drop off and how it correlates to price savings/reductions (which I know many members here would be interested in).
    Is there a difference for performance drop off by condition for drivers/woods versus irons or wedges (I’m sure used wedges would have to be less effective since they tell us to replace them after 75 rounds right?)?
    It would be interesting to see if $150-$250 less for the exact same driver and upwards of $500 less for the exact same used irons perform as well or nearly as well as the brand new ones.

    I had the old Mizuno balls. In fact I have 1.5 dozen in a closet somewhere. After the last NPG I bought a dozen of the RB TourX and they’re one of the best balls I’ve played. Where I play I won’t find any in the woods but then again, if someone finds one they’ll know it’s mine.
    As far as caddies, I think they should give yardage and weather conditions. Other than that no advice should be given. Plus enforce slow play by giving stroke penalties.

    DSG has REALLY upped their game on the yellow Maxfli balls for 2023. I'm blown away at how much more durable the finish is. I presently have a Tour that I've played on my last 43 holes - hitting 3 trees, three cart paths - and coming out of a few sand traps. It looks nearly new. The old model shedded paint if you looked sideways at it. I'd go as far as to say that the new Yellow is more durable than the new white. The Yellow Pro V1 seems nearly indestructible.

For example, if you take the 3 longest drivers and test each with the 3 longest balls, will the expected rankings hold?

  • @jeromekemmer8148

    The caddie's service of reading greens for a golfer is a tradition that stretches back at least two hundred years. It should stay. The real reason everyone is currently upset is mostly due to the use of AimPoint. You take a caddie for their preexisting knowledge of, or their ability to read greens. That's a fair practice. Allowing the player AND their caddy to use a new measurement practice that is effectively using the human body as a measuring tool should be restricted just like the use of a level or restricted to the player's use only. If the caddie and player have preexisting knowledge and want to use it, fine, thats a tradition that's been in place for 200 years. Using a measurement system that eats up everyone's time and possibly adds more stress to the area around the hole should be stopped or restricted.

    • @chrisnickel8873
      @chrisnickel8873 Рік тому +1

      Interesting thoughts here....but if you're going to allow caddies to read greens b/c that's how it's traditionally been done, I don't think you can restrict the method by which they decide to read the greens...reading the greens "with your feet" isn't a new concept at all - someone just had the foresight to create a system around it, package it and sell it.
