    I have a 2020 Chevy Spark LT in black. This Little Guy is a joy to drive. It drives much better than my 2 '69 Mustangs and the '78 Grand Prix. Unlike those cars, I can drive without having to get gas for 2 or 3 days. Despite its 98 HP, I've managed to hit 100 MPH on the Garden State Parkway when I was running late for work but this was only once. Normally, I keep the engine at 2000-2100 RPM which takes me up to 70-80 MPH. However, the Little Guy feels like it want to give you more. Best car I've bought; no regrets.

    I bought a brand new 2017 Spark LS, 5-speed manual transmission, manual windows, manual door locks. $10,100 OTD. 45,000 miles now and not a single issue. I LOVE this car and would buy it again. I've owned many 80's Honda Civics including an '86 CRX Si. My Spark absolutely reminds me of my CRX. It's a street-legal go-kart. Super fun to drive, great handling and chassis dynamics, and a better-than-it-needs-to-be interior. The 5-speed manual shifter is Honda-good. I've owned tons of cars and this is a favorite. Korean cars have arrived and the Spark is no exception. GM might discontinue it after 2023...so I'm thinking about buying another one before they are gone.

      Want to sell it. I bought a 21 two years ago because I panicked expecting the ultimate transition out of gasoline engines, and it was the last car on the lot, so I had to settle for automatic trans. Hate automatics. If you want to sell, I will want to buy. Have 21K as of late June 2023. If you like automatics, then maybe we can talk.

      I sold it about 9 months ago. Had to replace my ancient Toyota Tundra…so I sold the Tundra and Spark for a big down payment on a new 2022 Nissan Frontier. Bought the Spark new for $10,000 drove it for 5 years and 50,000 miles and sold it for $12,500!!

    Great review, for the price point, you can't beat it! Plus this Spark, if maintained well, can last over 10 years!

    I'm considering getting this car. I an retired and there are just the two of us. We don't go much of anywhere these days. I need to save as much as I can on payments. We won't be having anyone ride in the back seats so the rear-end collision is not so worrying. Dealer told me that Chevy does not lease this car, so I'll probably buy it. If I buy it I intend to keep it until I no longer drive. We put less than 2000 miles a year on our car so do you believe keeping it for 10 years sounds like an option? I'm expecting to only have to do routine maintenance in that time period (I hope).

    It handles really good. Very sporty. I’ve taken it on 250 mile road trips and the ride is not fatiguing. Except for a little noise, solved with 15 cent earplugs (which don’t have to be snug to take the edge off).

    • @resetsetmefree478

      It's not quite so noisy as the mirage Mitsubishi, and in the base LS trim the carpet floor mats and cloth seats help absorb the sound so even though you still get noise the acoustics are pretty good for a car this size

    Wow, the 2021 Spark LS is such a bargain in Canada (starting from $10398 CAD/ $8581 USD). I wish the one in America would be that affordable.

    I bought an LT 2 weeks ago, after test driving multiple cars, i was sold after test driving this one. I had my reservations, and thought it was going to suck, but it completely subverted my expectations. You get so much, especially for the cost. It drives well, the handling is really good, great fuel efficiency, and much roomier than you'd expect. It also come with free life time oil change, and 10 yr 200,000 mile GAP warranty, which is absolutely fantastic.

    • @resetsetmefree478
      @resetsetmefree478 4 місяці тому

      You get lots even in the base LS trim. There's plenty of advanced safety features beyond the required ones, including automatic headlights with daytime running, brake assist and hill start assist. And yes airbags. Only 2 are required by law yet they managed to fit 10 of them in there which is quite impressive 😁. It may be small and cheap but definitely NOT small and cheap with safety
      So do you still have yours? Ive never heard of the GAP warranty, are you in the USA?

    I had a Chevy Sprint in 1988. 3 cylinder car. Never needed anything but gas and oil. It went up snowy hills in Pennsylvania with it's front wheel drive with ease. Amazing gas mileage. I owned it for 8 years. Chevy has a good history of small affordable long lasting cars. People who buy these small cars are buying them for economical reasons not for racing. They are built very well for the price and their purpose to the basic driver.

      I don't know why nobody ever mentions that....10 airbags is impressive for a car this size. He was concerned about the back seat passengers in rear end collisions. I could understand that IF the car didn't come with airbags for the rear seat or the headrests. I'm not an engineer but I am just kinda tired of the stereotype that small cars are unsafe .....

    • @mdubb4855
      @mdubb4855 3 роки тому

      I think there is some platform overlap between the Spark, Sonic, and Bolt, but by the time they build it out, they are quite different. The Honda Fit and Honda HRV are on the same platform and look how different they are. I did own a Sonic which, with the 1.8 and stick shift, was a bat out of hell, but actually the Spark is more sporty imho.
