Except xmen origins lol, during the flashbacks we see Wolverine have when he sees Stryker and when Xavier look into his mind, they use scenes from the Wolverine, and all of the other xmen movies, except origins They used the flashback from Xw and X2 instead of Xmen origins to show Wolverine getting the claws, oh yeah they also ignore the other Stryker actor. Oh, and in this movie Stryker said his son Jason is already 10 years old while we see in origins which take place roughly 10 years later, jason is still 10 years old
Am I wrong for wanting at least one more XMen movie with the original cast. Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean, Storm, Beast, Rouge.... it was such a good feeling seeing them all over again at the end of DOFP
I know what you mean. I would really want to see an another X-Men movie with the original cast after Apocalypse, but with Hugh Jackman leaving the franchise it just wouldn't feel the same if they replaced him with someone else. It would be like replacing Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man in the next Avengers movie.
+Nana Gyambibi I just want AN xmen movie. We've had the origin story, a story about being hunted, a crappy apocalypse phoenix sagaish one, 2 wolverine movies and two prequel/sequels. We need a film that is literally just the xmen at the school and all of them. Like the avengers.

That's what I didn't understand ... why the hell did they leave Quicksilver behind. It did not make ANY sense, he was proven to be so useful thus far and then .. what. What?!?!?
freazeezy quicksilver is only sometimes portrayed as a villain, usually when he's younger and trying to impress his father magnito. He is in fact usually a good guy and is an Avenger along with his twin sister the scarlet witch. They have both been Avenger's since the early days of the team.
Because he was a kid, and they had no right to force him to risk his life and identity for a mission that wasn't his own. Quicksilver only wanted to break into the Pentagon, he probably didn't want to tag along any further
Domino1309 true that they might not want to bug him cause he's still a kid but... not even to save the entire mutant race and future?! especially after seeing magneto try to kill mystique for the cause? i'm sure at least someone would've forced/asked him to do it
Quick Silvers scene where he's moving so fast everything else looks slow motion was my favorite part lol and the song they used was fucking perfect. The entire movie theater was laughing their ass off and clapping on that part as soon as the regular speed kicked in ha
Tho he wouldn't of been able to hear the music at the pace we did. With as quick as he was moving the music sound would of just started by the time he finished making him putting the earphones on right before hand pointless. Still a badass scene tho :)
peter sloan It was just one minute of nonstop laughter. Quicksilver was just that awesome! XD And the song was called "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce. Coincidentally, he died in a plane crash in 1973.
@@kevinkusman9137 Yeaaaah but if they didn't make them seem like a serious threat, the tension in the time travel segments wouldn't work nearly as well, they'd work but the tension and grim undertone wouldn't be there
He retconned certain parts of it. The comics have been doing that for decades. It's funny that comic book movies have evolved to the point they're doing things like that now. lol
Kiyosuki Really the only thing we are missing now is parallel Earth's seriously. Crazy cosmic stuff in Guardians of the Galaxy, retconning/rebooting from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and DOFP. Legacy heroes in Ant-man next year. Parallel Earth's and pocket dimensions are pretty much the only super hero type thing that is missing from the movies.
If Fox sold X-Men to Marvel right now, It could work, They could just say the Marvel Cinematic Universe is what was created when Wolverine changed history, we didn't see anything from this new world other than the X-Men being alive
Why didn't hank sell that serum. He would be hailed as the man who cured paralysis. Also it might be good for the mutant community since it's effects are temporary mutants with powers that can make their life difficult. Mutants with natural weapons could go on planes. Rogue wouldn't have had to permanently depower herself. Cyclopes could take off his glasses.
Yeah it seems kind of fishy that Xavier wouldn't give this drug to the people he supposedly cared about. I know the real reason for that serum was so James and Nicholas wouldn't have to be in a wheel chair and wear blue fur the entire time. But in universe it makes no sense.
I'm guessing not so much thought went into it. Like I said the real reason for the serum was for the convenience of James and Nicholas but they needed to come up with a better idea.
Back when the X-men cartoon was on in the 90's, I remember they had that thing with the Genoshan mutant-power inhibitor collars that prevent mutant powers from activating. I always wondered why Rogue didn't simply get one of those and wear it most of the time. Scott had his glasses to inhibit his powers, but Rogue never thought to use existing technology to solve her dilemma?
I think what makes the retconned films relevant is the fact that Logan still experienced those events. He has memories of a timeline that didn't exist but left an impact on his personality, which will make his interactions with everyone after days of future past will be really interesting to see.
When Magneto said "All those years wasted fighting each other, Charles..." If I were Xavier I'd have gotten cheeky with him and said "You mean all those years you wasted?"
I like the fan theory that says that Quicksilver is actually a little kid and he just ages faster because of his mutation. So that would make his little sister (we see in that one scene) his TWIN sister. So then maybe he isn't in the rest of the movie because they don't want to put him in THAT MUCH danger.
Nixon Coronado i quote "So that would make his little sister (we see in that one scene) his TWIN sister" TadBigby just explained his theory on why quicksilver's sister looked younger than him in days of future past. they think that quicksilver's body ages faster because of his mutation, which would make him look older than scarlet witch even though they are the same age, because she doesn't have the same powers as him. so, if quicksilvers powers really do make him age quicker, their ages would eventually look different. next time you reply to someone's comment, i suggest you read the whole thing first so that you don't make yourself look like an idiot.
theory is sound...but....idk how it is in the comics if thats how it works. But in physics and stuff Time and Space are in an inverse relationship so the faster your going the slower time goes and vice versa so in theory Quicksilver should be younger in the movie then his sister...just my theory anyway
Watching those death scenes of the xmen was rough it was brutal as hell, and the second death scene of them towards the 2nd final battle was rough too. Warpath getting his face burned from the beam was too much. He's a beast
I found the last death scene the most brutal. There was far more at stake. And it was an interesting contrast to see past and future Magneto, not to mention Magneto scared that they would fail.
***** I can think of one: He can stab a dude with the bone claws, twist, break them off, and grow new ones. The imbedded blades would continue to do damage
hal jordan That was hinted at when they got on the plane. But the major disadvantage I say was his inability to slash. He can only stab and he has no chance against metal. Lucky for him the sentential never got taken out of prototype, because he couldn't do shit to them in the end fight.
There's no such thing in the 70's, it was not a typical headphone. Quicksilver is just super fucking fast, he don't have a "protection" like the speed force of The Flash, for example. The "headphone" and the glasses are used to protect him for the debris, the music is just an extra classy touch made by the director. Imagine if the water struck in his eyes/ears in the speed of light?
someone else asked this and ill tell you what I think, the music that he listens to when going super speed is probably recorded in way that allows him to listen to it when he is doing that.
How he can do that in the 70's? He was only a teenager with hypochondria. That song was edited in the scene, literally the soundtrack. It was not part of the scene.
i like how by showing everyone alive in the future, no other director can kill off any of the main characters in subsequent x-men sequels without breaking continuity again.
The Quicksilver scene made me think of "Over the Hedge". It also seemed like Q was listening to music while he was running around. But how if it only took him a split second?
***** The longer you play the original pong the faster it gets... so I guess eventually if you were good enough it would go that fast? And 2 theories: he listens to it on fast forward or he puts them on to cover his ears from the wind (like he does the goggles)???
***** It's possible he could have modified them himself. If you think about it he has nothing but time to kill, he could get so much done in the time it takes us to blink.
Best part/line in the movie was when Xavier says to Raven/Mystique "...this is a second chance to redefine ourselves." I love it because thats what the entire movie is. It was fun, deep, and left me looking foward to what's to come. Finally.
Marvel is making amazing movies and inter-connecting storylines, including those focusing on Black Widow and the Agents of Shield which are widely adored, and DC is still wondering if there is a market for a Wonder Woman movie.
Why does NOBODY understand simple things about these movies? I read comments on this movie and the wolverine movie and it's always the same comments over and over again. (How is Professor x still alive, didn't he die in the 3rd movie?,how are wolverines metal claws back, they don't grow back") Professor x is alive because he transferred his mind into the body of his twin brother at the end of the 3rd movie. Wolverine had his metal claws back because his metal DOES grow back like the rest of his body,it just takes a lot longer. The metal wrote itself into his DNA.
Professor X is alive because X-Men 3 now never happens because of DOFP. Wipe that movie clean from the timeline. Never happened. Xavier never died and never had to go to a different body. Also - back sometime between the events of 1973 in DOFP and his first appearance back in the first X-Men movie (I know it's confusing - Time Travel is like that), Striker implanted the adamantium in Wolverine's bones and gave him his claws. Mystique may have rescued Logan disguised as Striker, but I think the implication is that she didn't stick around and the REAL Striker - who was still alive - got a hold of him similar to what happened in the original timeline. (And the metal doesn't grow back or get "encoded" in his DNA. I know arguing "Comic book science" is kinda pointless sometimes, but as far as I know, adamantium doesn't do that either in the movie or the comics. At least I HOPE not. Because that would be truly stupid.)
go back and rewatch it. Professor X clearly explains he has a twin brother and at the end of the movie you can clearly see Patrick Steward laying in the bed...not many people look like Mr Steward
Your explanation of how Xavier is alive in the future is wrong. Xmen 3 still did happen but in the oringinal timeline which is also the bad future timeline. So how did Xavier return to life in the oringinal timeline? Though if your talking about the new timeline your right.
As you said, man, Days of Future Past retconned everything that happened in all of the movies besides the prequel by changing the timeline, so we can just assume Professor X & everyone else you listed as being brought back are stories for future sequels. Either they were retconned, or changed significantly, so who knows for sure.
The sentinels in the past weren't defective. They were shooting everywhere because Magneto was controlling them with the network of metal he planted inside.
I wouldn't be surprised if by the next movie, they decide that despite the alterations, the Weapon X project did happen, just X-men Origins Wolverine and the other movies did not. Because when we think Wolverine, we think metal claws not bone claws. and those film makers know it, hence why the gave him metal claws in the future segments despite them being cut off at the end of The Wolverine.
***** I was drunk when I posted that comment. But I still wouldn't be surprised if by the next movie he had his metal skeleton and claws. It's just not Wolverine without them.
The Weapon X program will probably happen. _Constants and Variables_. Plus everyone prefers it (I'm not saying bone claws look bad by any means just adamantium looks better)
The original Weapon X Program had Mystique in it, to the point where she was trying to create better mutants and started a fling with Wolverine. It is possible that she is the one pulling the strings with that project and having it to where he gets the adamantium. Now then, since this is a reboot and their is a significant time gap, if they want to, they could have 70's and 80's x-men easily.
generalz right?!!! I hope Mystique is kind of mix between comics, DoFP, and X2 Mystique with a hint of good now and more anti hero than down and out villain
generalz right?!!! I hope Mystique is kind of mix between comics, DoFP, and X2 Mystique with a hint of good now and more anti hero than down and out villain while Magneto I can see him go M.I.A. with his children and a few followers to start a new Brotherhood
Not many people noticed this, but Scarlet Witch is actually in the movie. There is a scene where someone (I cant remember who) is giving a speech which is televised, and you see multiple shots of mutants watching it. When it gets to Quicksilver, a (much younger) Scarlet Witch is sitting on his lap.
Did they do something about Quicksilver aging fast? I mean, I'm don't know about Quicksilver in the comic, but, in the movie, he has white hair (even while being a teen) and that would explain why he's older than his twin(?) sister?
While we all know the X-Men film franchise timeline was retconned by the end of the movie, it was pointed out to me shortly after seeing the film that the entire franchise was actually retconned from the start of the movie, too. Raven shows up in all three original X-Men movies, but in DoFP she was captured in the 70s to build the unstoppable sentinels. So, the franchise was actually double retconned by this one film. I know, it surprised me, too. :D
Love this review! You addressed literally everything I liked about the movie. Wait - the movie? Did I say movie? HOLY FREAKING SHIT THE MOVIE AAAAAAHHHH IT WAS F*CKING INCREDIBLE!!!! BEST X-MEN MOVIE AND ONE OF THE BEST FILMS EVER TO EXIST BRYAN SINGER SHOULD OWN THE FREAKING FRANCHISE IF HE NEEDS TO BECAUSE HE JUST WIPED IT ALL OUT AAAAHHHH!!!!!!!
Xavier transferred his consciousness into the comatose patient's body at the end of X3, then projected a vision of himself around the body. I think that makes sense. And it's not necessarily that none of the films happened. It's all history for Wolverine, so it's not completely gone.
The thing is Wolverine still has all the memories from the previous movies. So they sort of did happen it's just that the consequences were wiped away.
Ok, this is DEFINITELY your best Spoiler Review ever Jeremy! Damn! It's like you filled me with Hype and now I gotta see this movie! And the WHOLE Timeline has been altered, only for Apocalypse to destroy EVERYTHING in the next movie?? Hmm, something tells me that movie's gonna be the LAST X-Men film (i hope), then EVERYTHING will be erased and the rights can go back to Marvel lol. I see what they're trying to do now. (wishful thinking though)... Also 2 corrections Jahns, Xavier's ressurrection WAS Explained in X3.. in the end credits, I know the movie was so bad you didn't stay to the end, but it's there lol.
I think the reason why Xavier was alive at the post credit scene of Wolverine was because they've already altered time, but it was Magneto that saved him
actually xavier is alive if you pay attention to the last stand, which no one does. He appears alive at the end and in the middle of the movie he x-plains that u can transfer consiousness to someone else.
drago7317 no watch last stand in the end credits scene xavier has transferred his mind into his twin brother that is why he looks the same and acts the same
You know what I like about this movie, when wolverine goes back to the timeline he belongs, he still remembers his past but it actually never happened to him now, so in a way he still doesn't remember who he is or what he has done in the past...
You don't know why Professor X was alive? I take it you didn't find the hidden scene in X3. He transferred his mind into that brain dead man on life support he talked about in his class.
That doesn't explain why he had his body though. As in his own body. Unless it was super duper amazing magically delicious plastic surgery performed by a guy with stead enough hands to paint a photograph
Hallucinogen X Uhh, dude is like 6 ft tall, but if you mean his physique, nothing some good old working out can't do. Also, its because he's a good actor that he can nail it.
I really liked the scene where wolverine sank into the river mostly because the look on his looked like he was wondering if drowning could kill him. That's one drawback to having a healing factor like wolverines because you don't quite know what can actually kill you.
I liked the movie but I couldn't get myself to like the origin of the Sentinels too much. Mystique changes her appearance, not the properties of her body. In the first X-Men she turns into Wolverine but he cuts through her fake claws and stabs her because she was still flesh and regular bone. So how do her powers make Sentinels capable of altering themselves to counter other mutants? The answer is it can't. If they wanted the Sentinels to have adapting powers they should've tried to find a way to bring Darwin back for the movie and use his DNA.
I get what you're saying, but I have a theory that Rogue is what ultimately led to the completion of the Sentinels. You could say that Mystique gave the Sentinels the ability to change their shape, but it was Rogue that gave them the ability to copy the powers of other mutants.
+Nate Patterson So true. It was actually stupid how the only guy in that movie that was killed was the 1 character who could adapt to anything used against him. But they used theage old movie tradition of killing of "the black guy". If anything they should've incorporated Rogue's absorption power. They are making Mystique like she's Copycat from Deadpool, who both copy someone's appearance & powers.
+Taylor Huston (Soundkiller) True. Well they should've included that explanation in the movie....instead of simply saying Mystique was the key to the Sentinel's adaption.
+Blackton Obvious! In a way the Rogue Cut of the movie has that explanation. It isn't explicit but it's heavily implied. Honestly, I wish the Rogue Cut was the theatrical release as well. It makes everything make more sense
Deon Alec Steichen I saw the Rogue Cut & from what I could tell it only had like 1 additional scene. The whole prison break thing was kinda cool, but everything after that was just like "hmmm ok". It only played off of 1 thing & that was it made it a rush to hold Logan in the past.
Just saw it and I totally agree with everything that Jeremy said. It fixed everything from the original Movies but it still bugged me about the 2 big plot holes. 1. Metal claws in future (The Wolverine) 2. Xavier alive (X-Men the Last Stand) Guess there is some unknown variables that come to pass in the future. Anything could happen in a comic book movie series. But whatever the reasons, I absolutely loved it all! But I didn't stick around to see Apocalypse so glad I came to this video. When you have a gone-to-shit plot in a comic book movie franchise, which the X-men Franchise didn't do entirely, the tool to fix it is one of its best topics: Time Travel. :) Now only if there was a way to do that for the Aliens franchise.
I think after this one, none of that happened. The only think that made me wonder is if Logan has his metal claws in the future because of Mystique's role at the end.
Wolverine had his claws removed by Silver Samurai and had bone claws regenerate instead. However to get him combat ready magneto used any spare adamantium in his body and re coated and forged him new claws. Now will he be placed into the Weapon X program in the new universe that is the true question. The idea of Mystique creating a group of Super powered mutant assassins to eliminate her targets would be really cool. Especially if she uses the torture and harvest science techniques they had in store for her on wolverine to create a certain merc with a mouth and the rest of Weapon X Xavier was born as a twin. His mental capabilities were so strong that he caused his twin to become brain dead. The child was placed in the hospital because his parents believed that his condition would get better because hey they were rich as fuck. However once they died he passed his brother onto Moira to take care of and she proposed the transfer of conscience from one being to another. So before he was killed he transferred his mind to his brothers body.
Yo Momma It was probably her. Especially since this universe changes a lot of details. I don't even think she and Pietro (sorry, "Peter") are Magneto's kids in this one. Anyway, they'll be twins in the Avengers films, so...
8:30 Remember Jeremy that Kitty Pride said that the only person that would remember everything is you (Wolverine). So even though it didn't happen he remembered it. That's why Jean and Scott were looking at him like he was crazy. Remember at the end Xavier said, "We have a lot of catching up to do." Because Wolverine doesn't know why things happened the way it did after time was altered. So, yeah. Don't worry it was explained. You just forgot. Also my crush was Rouge. Something about that southern accent. Ironically I always thought Gambit was the coolest.
Rouge was my first crush in the comics and the very first movie. Then it was Kitty as portrayed by Ellen Page (So glad she came out cause I wanna hit that so hard.) I also remember thinking Bobby was cute but I didn't crush on him as much as Kitty or Rogue. Also I'm supper happy Kitty was in Days of Future past and that she was the one to send Logan back since in the comics Kitty is the one that actually goes back in time. Surprised you didn't mention that Jeremy : p And if anyone is confused: I am a 24 year-old FEMALE who READS COMICS and I am ATTRACTED to both MEN and WOMEN (aka: bisexual, but I'm not a big fan of that term. I prefer to say that I'm attracted to "people.") Just in case my post confused anyone. : )
I don't know why, but Ellen Page's Kitty Pryde was the only X-Person I was ever really attracted to. Maybe it's because she's the only person who (believably) seemed to be around my age. Easily the best thing about X-Men:The Last Stand, I'm sad she didn't have much screen time in Days of Future Past. Why won't they put her in more X-Movies?!
1. Xavier's survival is explained in the X3 after credit scene. 2. The adamantium claws had to be built around the bone claws, it's not like he just has blades coming out of his arms. (Baraka-pool joke) 3. Also maybe Magneto fixed Wolverine's claws by bending the metal back over the bone claws. That might be a stretch (funny since I just watched a movie about time-traveling mutants and THIS is what I question).
My nerd assumptions to eliminate the continuity errors. Xavier alive? After passing his consciousness to the brother, he then passed it to a clone somewhere in the future thanks to the DNA found in his wheelchair. (not from a hair tho) Adamantium claws? Magneto re-establishes them to make Wolverine stronger, for the mutant resistance. He found the adamantium after flying to Africa with Charles, after all, they were on the airport at the end of The Wolverine. Kitty's new powers? Well she can pass through space (walls), and space can't exist without time, so it's logic to think that she can (or make other people's consciousness) pass through time. She developed this powers over the last years. Xavier walking in the 80's and friend of Magneto? A little bit of McCoy's serum 'cause Jean's mind was too powerfull and it would be to extreme to read it all, and they made peace for a while, after all, they were friends in X-Men 1 (kinda).
Holy crap dude, send that to the director just in case he needs to come up with reasons to explain all of that. That was perfect, well done. ***** read this
Yea but its make alot more sense given the Terminator story. Time Travel is a key element of the entire thing and it kinda makes sense that "Oh we failed to kill Sarah Connor as a 20-something year old...well go back further and try again...We have the Technology!" In X-Men they just kinda plopped in a new power and made time travel a thing.
Actually in Xmen last stand it is either a post credit scene or a bonus scene. It shows Charles Xavier transferring his conscious to his brain dead twin brother's body after Jean like destroys him. That was basically how he survived. They even teased the idea early on in the film when Xavier is talking about if it morally right to transfer your conscious to a brain dead body which is perfectly healthy and functional.
Honestly, I think that the original X-men trilogy, Origins, and the Wolverine do still count in a way. You just have to look at them as Wolverine's past prior to this movie. So if you go with the new canon being First Class and DOFP, you can think of the others as a giant stack of prequels to explain Wolverine and why he was so happy to see everyone alive again.
***** Or our lord and saviour is right. There's nothing to say X1 events didn't happen. Just that they didn't play out exactly the same way. With Mystique being good and all. : )
***** Honestly, whatever they decide do to, keep part of the original timeline, scrape all of it, I don't care. As long as Singer calls the shots. I was actualy surprised how much I liked this movie. First Class was good and all, but I still felt like it was a superhero flic. This one is just... *WOW!* If movie makers want to "modernize" the comic stories, then now I can confidently point in direction of Days of the Future Past and say "that's how it's done" :D
It's interesting because in the comics, the white streak was part of Rogue's natural hair color. She styled it in different ways as the years went by, but it was definitely natural. Obviously, she got the white streak after escaping Magneto's machine in the first movie.
Actually, most of the stuff did happen, i think... I think what they done was gget rid of X3 and Origins... Also you mentioned how the Physics in Quicksilvers scene were shown properly, not actually true... Not only would his lungs have exploded, but the sound from his earphones wouldnt be as fluent as they were. So basically he wouldnt hear the music at that pace, but rather just a millisecond or even just a second of it...
It's 1972, iPods, etc. don't exist. On some tape players you could fast forward, and it would still play the song, but sound fast and weird like the chipmunks. So I think he just constantly plays music in ff, so as to hear it normally when moving at super speeds.
procrastinator99 That's not how sound works. Just because you play the music faster, doesn't make the sound waves travel from the headphone to the ear faster.
You are so wrong man About the music Because it was on him so he can hear it normal. Cuz he can make this normal that is on him. Now if the music was somewhere else then he wouldn't hear. Come on man get ur facts right
Xavier is alive because in X-men 3 he was teaching a class about transferring the conciousness of one person's mind to another... and then at the end of the credits you see the same patient that was on the video of what Xavier was teaching and the nurse.. who was actually that human cia girl ( I don't rmb if she was from CIA) next to the patient and then you hear her call out his name... This meant that Xavier can actually transfer his mind to another person's body
Quicksilver does have a sister in the movie, aka Scarlet Witch. At the end of the movie it shows Quicksilver watching the news from the White House attack and sitting with him is a little girl with red hair, in case you missed it.
Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg have both said that the little girl sitting with Quicksilver is not Scarlet Witch. She is Quicksilver's little sister, whereas Scarlet Witch is his twin. They decided not to include Scarlet Witch because the film would have had too many characters. They said there was originally gonna be an allusion to her, but they cut it out. The scene had Quicksilver's mom telling the little girl: "Why don't you go upstairs and bug your sister?" Since Evan Peters is playing Quicksilver again in X-Men: Apocalypse, I hope they bring in Scarlet Witch as well. I think Alexandra Daddario would be a good fit.
Ralf Huisman Doubt it. In DOFP Magneto is locked up for supposedly killing JFK in 1963, ten years before the events of the film. That little girl was six at most.
Movie was great, but I am still pissed Emma Frost wasn't in it. They only mentioned she had been killed off. January Jones nailed the role IMO, both physically and also acting wise to an extent. She would have improved in this. And I also missed Azazel, they killed him off as well. Still, no body was shown of Emma and given she is almost as powerful at controlling minds as Xavier... And yeah, Psylocke needs to be in it.
When Wolverine is put through the weapon plus program, the adamantium replaces his bones rather than coating them, so his claws were replaced not coated as well. Kind of a reason for why his claws aren't round and chunky and metal
Oh all right I'm going to get it, but I'll be truthful: Scott Summers was my crush. I read the comics in the 1980s and I loved the angry "I lost Jean, I can't deal" Scott. He could be heroic and stand up for weaker people - because in his youth he idolized Xavier and learned his morality from Xavier - then at the same time he could be a self-indulgent jerk. (Hence abandoning Madeline Pryor and his newborn son for the resurrected Jean Grey.) The oedipal son grows up destroy the father whom he worships... I'll stop you probably know if you have read the X-Men. It seems that movie writers and directors can't handle a character that complex. Also, he is traditionally tall, dark and handsome.
klassytome There is nothing emberrassing about being the only one to asnwer his question. + It was posted 6 days ago so who knows how many people could answer it in 2 weeks time or more.
dnw009 Thanks, for that. I was just feeling like the I was the only one in a group of millions to make a confession that can make a woman feel vulnerable.
Hey - no problem. I don't have a "crush" on Scott (Straight dude here :D ) but I definitely agree he's MUCH cooler than people give him credit for. When the writers remember to DO him well that is... I think sometimes you get writers who think "he's a dick" so they don't do him right. I think the problem is that people think, "white, straight, upright nice guy = BORING". Or they focus on his "uptightness" because he's paranoid about his lack of control over his power and focus on that instead. Yeah - he's got a little of that, but it's not the main thing! The thing that gives me hope for future portrayals of Scott/Cyclops is Chris Evans' portrayal of Steve Rogers/Captain America. After Winter Soldier, you want to seriously tell me that you can't do a character like that properly? The bar has been RAISED. Which reminds me - Scott really is - or should be - the "Captain America" for the mutants. He's Xavier's "standard-bearer" in addition to everything else. So give him his due. It'd be about time.
Days of future past basically fixes all messed up things directors did over the course of these movies. A fresh start and some things can make a little more sense. The wolverine movie needs to go fuck off.
i am surprised that he didnt talk about Blink. i mean shes like a human portal gun except she doesnt need to fire the portals at a wall. whenever shes on screen, it just gave me the Portals vibe. and the actress who plays her, fan bingbing is 👌
The best scene is when the young and the old Professor X had that beautiful conversation. I teared up.
Seriously! Great scene.
Me too. I cried.
Agreed. Only rivaled by the beautiful ending... Seeing such closure for all of our beloved X-Men made me well up :)
That happened to me once
W-James LOL Get a life
Quicksilver: "You know karate, man?"
Magneto: "I don't know karate."
laughed my ass off xD
+Big Bad Biker Nerd Magneto: "But I do know crazy." XD
Cause it's "the Dane Cook of martial arts."!
+Big Bad Biker Nerd anyone else read magneto's line in his voice or was it just me
+Julsmul Thank you so much Archer
+thebus1020 i do know crazy
Technically the stuff in the other movies still happened, but only to Logan.
Lori Burnip and Charles in a way since he could see the events of those movies in Logan’s head
@@rickgrimes2056 hey rick this comment was posted two weeks ago 😂😂😂 are you in heaven with Carl?
Except xmen origins lol, during the flashbacks we see Wolverine have when he sees Stryker and when Xavier look into his mind, they use scenes from the Wolverine, and all of the other xmen movies, except origins
They used the flashback from Xw and X2 instead of Xmen origins to show Wolverine getting the claws, oh yeah they also ignore the other Stryker actor. Oh, and in this movie Stryker said his son Jason is already 10 years old while we see in origins which take place roughly 10 years later, jason is still 10 years old
they do use origins in fkash backs. they use the scene when sabretooth steps on logans claws@@haveidonethisbefore
+Taylor Huston (Soundkiller) ikr
+Nana Gyambibi I just want AN xmen movie. We've had the origin story, a story about being hunted, a crappy apocalypse phoenix sagaish one, 2 wolverine movies and two prequel/sequels. We need a film that is literally just the xmen at the school and all of them. Like the avengers.

Nana Gyambibi you got it
That's what I didn't understand ... why the hell did they leave Quicksilver behind. It did not make ANY sense, he was proven to be so useful thus far and then .. what. What?!?!?
Quicksilver's a villain. The only reason he helped was because he wanted to brake into the pentagon. The movie should have made that clearer.
freazeezy quicksilver is only sometimes portrayed as a villain, usually when he's younger and trying to impress his father magnito. He is in fact usually a good guy and is an Avenger along with his twin sister the scarlet witch. They have both been Avenger's since the early days of the team.
Chase Turcotte cool, i didn't know that.
Yeah, that bit was a real crowd pleaser because it was badass and funny.
It was a nice touch to the film. Not expected at all.
XD
And the song was called "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce. Coincidentally, he died in a plane crash in 1973.
XD good one bro

RIP to all the Xmen who got owned by the sentinels especially Colossus

Did Bryan singer just reboot the xmen franchise without actually rebooting the xmen franchise ?
What the fuck?
Pretty much
X1,X2,X3,Origins,The Wolverine now no longer happened
Just first class and DOFP and all that follows after
I never...actually thought of it that way. LOL. A reboot so smooth, no one saw it coming.
I'd say he "Abrams'd" it. To word it best, it means, "rebooting your franchise through in-universe plot devices."
Bryan Singer was like "Yall fucked up my baby, don't worry daddy is back to make you better".
So true
*****
Leaving "Superman returns" out of this...
Bryan Singer be like:
Ok you made two bad xmen movies (origens and last stand) screw it none of it happened!
***** Kind of hard to keep that info out of my head now every time someone brings him up. Not something you can shake off.
This comments aged like milk regarding the franchise & Bryan Singer lmao
If Fox sold X-Men to Marvel right now, It could work, They could just say the Marvel Cinematic Universe is what was created when Wolverine changed history, we didn't see anything from this new world other than the X-Men being alive
Really solid theory. Won't happen though. Fox is doing well with X-Men. They've no reason to give it up
HOLY SHIT that would be legit. Although for the most part Fox is doing well with the franchise, unlike Sony with Spider-Man....
WWEPH5926
yeah unlike other companies COUGH COUGH sony COUGH COUGH
I like the x men movies more than marvel avengers wasn't that good
X men way better than the avengers
To me, X Men Days of Future Past and Whiplash were my 2 favorite movies of 2014. They were both great!
Johnathan Shelton whip laaaaaaaaash
Johnathan Shelton lol, miles teller is mr fantastic, now he can say to peter parker that spiderman's simmons got nothing on him
Johnathan Shelton Just like JJ. Whiplash was #1 and DOFP was #2
I had a crush on kitty, still kinda do lol, but speaking of her, when da hell did she get time warp powers?
she phases through space, space and time is relative.
mutants get new powers as they age you don't think logan had that crazy healing right of the bat he gained it threw time
because they we're to lazy to write in the actual mutant who can send people back in time
ThatGuyWhoGames No she was the one who did it in the original story.
bullzeye1423 Kitty went back in time in the OS but it was Rachel, a telepath on Jean Grey Level power and other stuff, that sent her back.
Very true...
Yeah it seems kind of fishy that Xavier wouldn't give this drug to the people he supposedly cared about. I know the real reason for that serum was so James and Nicholas wouldn't have to be in a wheel chair and wear blue fur the entire time. But in universe it makes no sense.
Yeah, maybe because it kind of destroyed his life, he didn't want to exploit it.. yet it balanced Beast perfectly. I don't know..
My first reaction to seeing Professor X in the 70s - "LIEUTENANT DAYUN"
Liquid! I love your LP'S!
I think what makes the retconned films relevant is the fact that Logan still experienced those events. He has memories of a timeline that didn't exist but left an impact on his personality, which will make his interactions with everyone after days of future past will be really interesting to see.
Jean Grey easily. Famke Janssen is all i need in life lol. Blink tho......she's up there.
Dude, your are right. Although Blink might be number one tbh. I don't like Jean when she goes all Phoenix and disintegrates me lol
When Magneto said "All those years wasted fighting each other, Charles..." If I were Xavier I'd have gotten cheeky with him and said "You mean all those years you wasted?"
8:58-9:04 it was me
yeah i know
My X crushes are Rogue and Kitty Pryde.
They can screw up my body all day.
Here's to that!
You wouldn’t be able to touch either of them lol
I like the fan theory that says that Quicksilver is actually a little kid and he just ages faster because of his mutation. So that would make his little sister (we see in that one scene) his TWIN sister.
So then maybe he isn't in the rest of the movie because they don't want to put him in THAT MUCH danger.
I like this theory
Are you fucking serious? They are twins! God! Keep up!
You guys do know that the little girl is Polaris not Scarlet Witch right?
theory is sound...but....idk how it is in the comics if thats how it works. But in physics and stuff Time and Space are in an inverse relationship so the faster your going the slower time goes and vice versa so in theory Quicksilver should be younger in the movie then his sister...just my theory anyway
I thought Blink was pretty hot
So was Mantis
I knew she was ha ha 🔥
Apsoulutly no cap
Watching those death scenes of the xmen was rough it was brutal as hell, and the second death scene of them towards the 2nd final battle was rough too. Warpath getting his face burned from the beam was too much. He's a beast
I found the last death scene the most brutal. There was far more at stake. And it was an interesting contrast to see past and future Magneto, not to mention Magneto scared that they would fail.
The bone claws aren't as cool as his metal ones, but they could've showcased the advantages he has without the adamantium
Advantages?
*****
I can think of one: He can stab a dude with the bone claws, twist, break them off, and grow new ones. The imbedded blades would continue to do damage
***** also, magneto can't control him
hal jordan That was hinted at when they got on the plane. But the major disadvantage I say was his inability to slash. He can only stab and he has no chance against metal. Lucky for him the sentential never got taken out of prototype, because he couldn't do shit to them in the end fight.
***** he's alot faster and his healing factor is amplified to near instantaneous.
7:17
"Bone claws??! ...Damnit!!" Sorry, and I totally agree man, but that was so funny lmao!! XD
On that Quicksilver fight scene, how does his headphones work? Can the music keep up with his speed?
There's no such thing in the 70's, it was not a typical headphone. Quicksilver is just super fucking fast, he don't have a "protection" like the speed force of The Flash, for example. The "headphone" and the glasses are used to protect him for the debris, the music is just an extra classy touch made by the director. Imagine if the water struck in his eyes/ears in the speed of light?
Rafael Teles thank you for clearing things up for me! It's appreciated.
Even with the bad english, lol you're welcome =)
someone else asked this and ill tell you what I think, the music that he listens to when going super speed is probably recorded in way that allows him to listen to it when he is doing that.
How he can do that in the 70's? He was only a teenager with hypochondria. That song was edited in the scene, literally the soundtrack. It was not part of the scene.
Well, until I saw this movie, my X-Crush was Jean Grey... But then I laid eyes on Blink...
Ok, I will say this, I don't care/know if it's accurate to the comics, but her powers looked awesome in this film!
Randygandalf95 Screw that, SHE looked awesome...! well her powers too..but damn, Blink is hot lol
My X-Men crush was always Kitty Pryde. Ellen Page is bae.
*****
So I can't love her..?!
Ellen Page is lesbian, but Kitty is not. So you can keep fantasizing.
***** nah man, I bet you like cuz she can be whatever you want her to be
Late reply, kitty pryde is mine as well. XD
Mine is Blink. Goddamn
i like how by showing everyone alive in the future, no other director can kill off any of the main characters in subsequent x-men sequels without breaking continuity again.
I like Blink in the movie. She looks hot and her power was cool. Made me think of portal.
I literally played portal and portal 2 for the first time right before I saw this movie and thought exactly the same thing.
***** theres gonna be 4 more movies O_O well i guess we know who is definatly not going to be killed off for the next 4 movies.
***** i didnt see it. i didnt have time to see. so im happy you spoiled it lol. and i dont currently have time to see it
The Quicksilver scene made me think of "Over the Hedge". It also seemed like Q was listening to music while he was running around. But how if it only took him a split second?
maybe he was listening to it in fast forward mode!
I was thinking that too. I'll guess we'll have to wait for CinemaSins to see what they think.
He probably listens to it on fast forward
Rogue, marry me. Touching you could leave me in a coma. It's so worth it
I just realized mystique is old AF
she was born in the early 40's so she's in her mid 80's in that future (which takes place in 2023)
Robert Brunner but she can take the form of her younger self ;D
She also had sex and affairs with many different X-men ;)
if I remember well she is even older in the comics
I hate bone claws as well.
Same
Why does NOBODY understand simple things about these movies? I read comments on this movie and the wolverine movie and it's always the same comments over and over again. (How is Professor x still alive, didn't he die in the 3rd movie?,how are wolverines metal claws back, they don't grow back") Professor x is alive because he transferred his mind into the body of his twin brother at the end of the 3rd movie. Wolverine had his metal claws back because his metal DOES grow back like the rest of his body,it just takes a lot longer. The metal wrote itself into his DNA.
Then one question- why was Xavier still paralyzed if it was a new body?
Except in X3 the body isn't his twin brother, it's just some random guy in a coma.
go back and rewatch it.
My X-Crush? Rogue...the REAL Rogue. You know the beautiful, sassy, super strong, flying Rogue. Before they made her emo.
The one from the cartoon, sugar?
porcupineracer2
Hell yeah, lol. I think every guy loved her. She jumpstarted my puberty as a kid ;)
porcupineracer2
Yeah and the comics :)
*****
The moment when she flies at the screen in the first episode and her chest hits the screen, you bet I played that over and over again lol
Thats a diferent Rogue, from a diferent universe, but i agree.
next movie
Professor X- Logan do you remember me
Wolverine- sure you're the guy who gave me that bad acid
Kitty Pride for me !
As you said, man, Days of Future Past retconned everything that happened in all of the movies besides the prequel by changing the timeline, so we can just assume Professor X & everyone else you listed as being brought back are stories for future sequels. Either they were retconned, or changed significantly, so who knows for sure.
Spoiler talks are the best Jeremy
Wolverine = Trunks....
Think about it.
Oh goddammit.
Mind wrinkled!
Wow...never looked at it like that...wow
Am I the only one who just imagined ssj Wolverine? 0_0
Who is Bulma and Vegeta then?
The sentinels in the past weren't defective. They were shooting everywhere because Magneto was controlling them with the network of metal he planted inside.
He was saying that was probably what the government guys thought, not what actually happened.
Wow. No.
***** I was drunk when I posted that comment. But I still wouldn't be surprised if by the next movie he had his metal skeleton and claws. It's just not Wolverine without them.
Plus I edited the comment to sound less ridiculous.
I'm still aching to find out what happened to magneto and mystique.
generalz right?!!!

Yea I noticed that too
That's not Scarlet Witch, just Peters younger sister, there was a line from that scene that was cut which referenced her.
ashyoko nope confirmed that is the scarlet witch cast much younger than quicksilver
ashyoko It is in fact her. Sony made a statement about it before the movie was even released
Hey batman..arent you supposed not to to be exciting as your comment...chill brah...you're batman..
Xavier transferred his consciousness into the comatose patient's body at the end of X3, then projected a vision of himself around the body. I think that makes sense. And it's not necessarily that none of the films happened. It's all history for Wolverine, so it's not completely gone.
He transferred his mind to the body of his brain-dead twin brother, P. Xavier, who was under the care of Dr. Moira.
2024 anyone? Goddamn jeremy young af, lol, so much energy
The thing is Wolverine still has all the memories from the previous movies. So they sort of did happen it's just that the consequences were wiped away.
It's all in his head it's just in the real world it never happen

He appears alive at the end and in the middle of the movie he x-plains that u can transfer consiousness to someone else.
boxac2435 Except he was in another body. so he might have undone his old body's destruction
drago7317 no watch last stand in the end credits scene xavier has transferred his mind into his twin brother that is why he looks the same and acts the same
Just seen it dude, Best part was with that fast dude in slow motion hands down.
***** Or with pure will power he forced the body to look like Patrick Stewart lol
GhostrareStardust
It was under the overwhelming power of being Patrick Stewart that he formed his new body
***** He transfered his mind into the body of his twin brother.

You're not serious are you?
X-Men = #SuperOfficial and nothing more needs to be said! ;-)
Kinda unrelated, but Fassbender would have been the perfect Batman.
Nope. Fuck you and fuck Batman.
Azyral Stark Yup, stop it with the Batman pandering
Uuuh Fassbander is tiny.Just cuz he's a good actor doesn't mean he can play anyone.
Hallucinogen X Uhh, dude is like 6 ft tall, but if you mean his physique, nothing some good old working out can't do. Also, its because he's a good actor that he can nail it.
If they ever plan to reboot Ben-Hur... Fassbender should do it!
I really liked the scene where wolverine sank into the river mostly because the look on his looked like he was wondering if drowning could kill him. That's one drawback to having a healing factor like wolverines because you don't quite know what can actually kill you.
Wouldn't X-Men 1 still have happened though? In the scene before the credits, Rogue still has the streak of white hair.
Kitty. It's Ellen Page, she can walk through walls. I don't need to know more!
I feel you, Leonardo.
Love your name btw
In the post-credits scene of The Last Stand, it is shown that Xavier passed his concience on to his twin brother. That's how he was alive.
DOFP and Star Trek are the only franchise that rebooted legitimately without erasing previous installments.
Insert name HERE
Yup
Just saw it and I totally agree with everything that Jeremy said. It fixed everything from the original Movies but it still bugged me about the 2 big plot holes.
1. Metal claws in future (The Wolverine)
2. Xavier alive (X-Men the Last Stand)
Guess there is some unknown variables that come to pass in the future.
Now only if there was a way to do that for the Aliens franchise.
In the post cred scene for Xmen Last stand, prof X transferred his consciousness to another body. He did so just before Pheonix ripped him apart.
David A I figured that out a few hours ago.
I think after this one, none of that happened. The only think that made me wonder is if Logan has his metal claws in the future because of Mystique's role at the end.
David A Phoenix*
Wolverine had his claws removed by Silver Samurai and had bone claws regenerate instead. However to get him combat ready magneto used any spare adamantium in his body and re coated and forged him new claws. Now will he be placed into the Weapon X program in the new universe that is the true question. The idea of Mystique creating a group of Super powered mutant assassins to eliminate her targets would be really cool. Especially if she uses the torture and harvest science techniques they had in store for her on wolverine to create a certain merc with a mouth and the rest of Weapon X
Xavier was born as a twin.
Did any one notice when quicksilver was watching the TV he was watching with his sister aka skarlet witch
That wasn't scarlet witch. Scarlet witch is his twin sister, that girl was much younger.
*****
which would be weird because Polaris is older than the twins
***** Her green hair will grow when she reaches puberty.
Yo Momma It was probably her. Especially since this universe changes a lot of details. I don't even think she and Pietro (sorry, "Peter") are Magneto's kids in this one. Anyway, they'll be twins in the Avengers films, so...
BlackLotus30 Polaris is sometimes younger than the twins but say what you want.
My "X" crush? Emma Frost, Kitty Pryde, Jean Grey, Rogue just ANY female X-men character because they are all great…..except for Storm
That's racist. *DING*
Haha?
No, I got it. Don't worry
Surprised you didn't mention that Jeremy : p
And if anyone is confused: I am a 24 year-old FEMALE who READS COMICS and I am ATTRACTED to both MEN and WOMEN (aka: bisexual, but I'm not a big fan of that term.
Post credit scene in X-men last stand. Watch it Jeremy.
No one wants to sit through that shit again
professor X finds a new body at the end of Xmen 3. Who is that?
Roger Schooneveld his brain dead twin
he has a brain dead twin?? where did they mention his twin in the movie Duke Silver
They try to make us forget that bull.
1. Xavier's survival is explained in the X3 after credit scene.
2. The adamantium claws had to be built around the bone claws, it's not like he just has blades coming out of his arms. (Baraka-pool joke)
3. Also maybe Magneto fixed Wolverine's claws by bending the metal back over the bone claws. That might be a stretch (funny since I just watched a movie about time-traveling mutants and THIS is what I question).
this movie was so good, saw it 2 nights back :D was not dissapointed
My nerd assumptions to eliminate the continuity errors.
Xavier alive? After passing his consciousness to the brother, he then passed it to a clone somewhere in the future thanks to the DNA found in his wheelchair. (not from a hair tho)
Adamantium claws?
***** read this
I agree on how Kitty got her "time travel" ability, during the "X-Men takeover Thursday" on FX, Ellen Page explained that kitty's powers had evolved
abraham ruiz Or I think there going on the second mutation thing that the writer Grant Morrison created for the X-Men comic series ongoing.
That too
So this is what the new terminator movie is gonna do, kinda undo the timeline of 1 and 2
It's possible.
Yea but its make alot more sense given the Terminator story. Time Travel is a key element of the entire thing and it kinda makes sense that "Oh we failed to kill Sarah Connor as a 20-something year old...well go back further and try again...We have the Technology!"
In X-Men they just kinda plopped in a new power and made time travel a thing.
Xavier's survival is some-what explained in the X3 post-credits. I don't blame you for not knowing - I didn't find out until a week before DOTF.
Coleuses's death was fucking brutal!
I Agree
Sunspot's was pretty bad too considering they took off his arm before zapping him.
All of them were.
Blinks death was pretty ridiculous too
DazReht
And when they ripped Icemans head off and crushed it! I winced.
Best movie of this year yet
Dude, The Ending with Mystique Pretending to be younger Stryker made me laugh my ass off in the theater, It just felt so cheap but still surprised me.
Cheap? Why?
Actually in Xmen last stand it is either a post credit scene or a bonus scene. It shows Charles Xavier transferring his conscious to his brain dead twin brother's body after Jean like destroys him. That was basically how he survived. They even teased the idea early on in the film when Xavier is talking about if it morally right to transfer your conscious to a brain dead body which is perfectly healthy and functional.
Ah I remember having a huge crush on Mystique when I was a kid. I was obsessed with X-Men 2, especially because of her.
There's no boobie like blue boobies =}
SlylentGamer91 HAHAHA ROTFL
My X crush is Rogue I love her little Mississippi tuff girl attitude .
I would bang her...probably kill me though..
Ok it'd definitely kill me, but it's be worth it :P
How about emma frost? In first class ...
Storm tho...
My X crush is Rogue and Storm from comics, 90's TV show.
Psylocke my bitch.
My x-crush is .... Deadpool
Love a witty man who can fight. Loved Deadpools fighting style in the movie, it was fantastic!
X-Men did happen. In the ending scene Marie had the white streak she got in the first movie.
And mine was both Jean and Mystique! :')
*WOW!*
If movie makers want to "modernize" the comic stories, then now I can confidently point in direction of Days of the Future Past and say "that's how it's done" :D
It's interesting because in the comics, the white streak was part of Rogue's natural hair color. She styled it in different ways as the years went by, but it was definitely natural. Obviously, she got the white streak after escaping Magneto's machine in the first movie.
Emma Frost
Come on man get ur facts right
weren't Walkmans invented way after 1973 though?
titord12 Ok, where are you getting that from? Just because its on him means he can hear it? He doent slow down time, he just speeds up...
Bishop got robbed they need to shine the light on other mutants
The scene had Quicksilver's mom telling the little girl: "Why don't you go upstairs and bug your sister?"
Since Evan Peters is playing Quicksilver again in X-Men: Apocalypse, I hope they bring in Scarlet Witch as well. I think Alexandra Daddario would be a good fit.
***** to this whole cmment: "yes"
***** so.. she is Polaris right :) ?
***** Daddario... Half the time she's good, other half she sucks.
I think I'm the only one who answered your question. Embarrassing. I guess I'll just leave the comment, because I'm tempted to delete.
klassytome There is nothing emberrassing about being the only one to asnwer his question.
My Xmen crush is Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence
Days of future past basically fixes all messed up things directors did over the course of these movies. A fresh start and some things can make a little more sense. The wolverine movie needs to go fuck off.
Haha I agree, the Wolverine movie was useless.
grekk08 youre right to an extent but if isn't for the fans its useless and it should fuck off.
Really boring movie.
Yeah
yeah, Deadpool..........
i am surprised that he didnt talk about Blink. i mean shes like a human portal gun except she doesnt need to fire the portals at a wall. whenever shes on screen, it just gave me the Portals vibe. and the actress who plays her, fan bingbing is 👌
