- How much should you spend on a GMT? I picked my favorite 3 right now. All 39mm and perfectly tiered in terms of price. Which one did I end up choosing? Watch to find out.

Spirit Zulu 39 still my heart
Still can't work out why this watch is so popular on UA-cam. It looks like any old pilot style watch. Some what boring and unexciting, but conservative. What am I missing?
@@bodrulm1 have u seen it in person? sht looks amazing, i like the titanium one with black bezels
@@bodrulm1 if you like light watches, try Zulu 39 in tytan. If not try steel one.
@@HavokRm Agreed. I tried on the BB58 GMT and for some reason was not blown away. First one the AD had received. Was thinking I'd walk out the door with it but it just didn't speak to me. Prefer the Zulu time as well.
These stars ruin the dial for me. Make it look too cluttered and overloaded, reminds of some cheap marketing stuff like if you put more stars it will make it better or more expensive.
I find my Grand Seiko SBGN005 to be the absolute perfect travel GMT with its 39 mm case, always on high-quality Quartz movement and excellent Zaratsu polishing. Thank you Tim, great overview!
The zulu is perfect
I still have the original version of the Seiko Navigator Timer. It was my father's watch. I wore it as a kid in the 70's and beat the piss out of it, needing to be fixed by Seiko servicing center in midtown Manhattan. They used to be on 57th St. in the Westside. It was a lot of fun to visit there as a kid and my watch obsession was sealed. I don't wear it anymore, but pulled it out recently and it still runs and keeps excellent time. This new release is very true to the original's styling, except for the bracelet, which was a Jubilee on the original.
When it comes to what you get for the money, the Seiko can’t be beat. It matters little to me that it’s a “caller” GMT. If I travel across timezones, I rely on my cellphone to know what time it is back home anyway. I stopped using watches as tools many years ago.
I just took delivery of the Henry Archer Verden GMT about a week ago. I'm chuffed, it's a beautiful watch and the fit and finish is sublime. Then knowing its price point - mind=blown. Ripper value
Pleasure. Smooth and standing out, all your videos. Thank you.
I appreciate that! 😊
I got the Longines in black, my favourite part about it is the quick change between bracelet and the various leather straps they offer. To be able to change straps in under a minute is a great feature. Only dislike is the lume makes the hands and numerals off white instead of pure white but that's true for most watches with lume.
congrats on your watch. I think the black zulu 39mm is the best. It has a black dial and bezel, silver numerals and hands, light green lume and blue gmt hand tip and 'zulu time' text. Therefore it can go with any color of strap - black, brown, blue, green.
There is something else. The black zulu is the most cohesive. It has white data on black background which matches the dial and then all the other numerals on the dial are light green. On the bezel you have a light green triangle with all numerals white, which is like a negative image of the numerals on the dial.
Therefore, despite the fact that the green bezel zulu is very charming, the black one is better. Now, the titanium zulu is something else - I find it a masterpiece!
Watches are so delicate and intricately designed, so I have intense respect and admiration for AMZWATCH watch makers
When people are saying MAMACOO is a better option for buying a watch,I very much agree!
Great vid. Congrats on the collab with Nodus. Can’t wait to see it! Have the Seiko 5 “explorer” gmt and love it. But I also have the Longines Zulu Time x Hodinkee Ti. It’s my daily driver. And I love it for the same reasins you love your Seiko, it’s rugged-and as good looking as an Explorer or BB Pro. Also have the Zulu Time like yours in 42, and love it on the leather deployent. You missed one, I also have the Longines Conquest GMT, in olive. Love that one too! And now we have the Zulus in Ti . . .
I really like that longines. Really fan of that green since i had seen it on so many jeep grand cherokees in the 90’s as a kid.
The CW Sealander GMT is an amazing piece for the money with several color ways to fit most tastes. Love mine and it’s so charming on wrist.
Longines Spirit Zulu 42mm with blue dial. Love it!! I got mine after my Rolex AD had no watches to sell me.
I went for the Longines SZT 39mm Titanium 😎
That one sizzles 🔥🔥
Just ordered that exact watch last week. Can't wait to see it in person!! Had a hard time deciding between that, the Tudor BB 58 GMT in root beer combo and two other watches. Hoping I made the right choice/
same bro, at first I go boutique to try normal SPIRIT ZULU TIME , it looks great but when the staff brings me Titanium version is just stunning , the case materials really got different vibe.
I have a Henry Archer, 39mm, traveller GMT, on the fly adjust… $625 retail. Micro brands are making a real push and you can’t sleep on them.
My everyday watch is a Ball Trainmaster GMT GM1038-S10J-BE. Titanium case and bracelet, textured blue dial with tritium markers.
38 mm x 11.5 mm
MSRP was $2k,
picked up new grey market for less than $800
I’ve got the Longines 39” GMT, blue and love it. Perfect proportions and accurate to COSC specs, tried and proven.
Great choice!
I’ve owned the Spirit and it is excellent. The Zulu time, as you’ve said, is a bit busy for me with so many numerals. Still, much respect to what it offers
I was in the pool !!!!!! 😂😂😂 great episode, poor Gorge
I’m usually not a Seiko guy but that Seiko is too good. I love how compact it is.
For the money I love the Seiko but man that Tudor dial is stunning. What a leap in quality.
Btw I sent you a message on the app. Thanks for a great video.
I bought a Seiko SPBK003 Solar GMT as my first "serious" watch. I have had my eye on the Longines Spirit in the green for some time, will likely be the first automatic in my collection.
Respect with the Seiko - true watch fan and it’s great to see!
Definitely the Seiko. I have the OG version of this from the late 60’s on the original bracelet. It’s one of my favorite watches in my collection, and the reissue definitely does it justice.
No way! It's a spitting image
@@WatchCrunchOfficialI agree, it’s incredibly faithful to the original. If I didn’t have the vintage version, I’d get the amazing reissue.
An intresting alternative to the seiko would be the bulova ocenagrapher gmt. Its got a true gmt movement ( a miyota 9075 from the parent Citizen company ). Its a bit bigger at 41mm, but it wears a a lot smaller because of the 45 mm lug to lug. And its ultimate party trick is a fully lumed dial. Got one for under a 1000$ and it slaps hard lol
I love full numeral dials. The Zulu Time is one of the few GMT's of any kind out there with numerals on the dial. Throw in a traveler's movement and the winner for me is the Longines!
You shouldn't skip over the many watches that use the Miyota 9075 true GMT movement. I was one of the people who went for a Seiko SSK when they came out, but the "office" GMT movement just didn't give me the fizz. I'd had an eye on the Longines for a while, but it's out of my realistic price range. Then I found the Zelos Mako 300M GMT with the Miyota movement. Just over $600 at release, so I jumped on it. Micros with the Miyota movement are all over the place, offering plenty of choice for those who won't be happy with the office GMT movements, at prices well below $1,000.
From this list, Zulu. Recently I purchased the Traska Venturer for $720 USD - a great deal IMO…build quality has surpassed my expectations for the price point.
I like the Seiko the most of the 3, as well. I’ve always been a huge Seiko guy, and more importantly, I’m in love with grey dials and vintage reissued watches.
As far as the Tudor. I have a BB58 blue, and I love it so much, but with this GMT, I’m definitely in the same camp with those folks that don’t like all of the gilt. I actually think a Batman with a white dial would’ve been the correct choice for the first BB58 GMT.
Finally, the Longines is clearly made to a very high standard, and is priced well for what you get. But while I do find the Zulu appealing to the eyes, it is a watch that I could see myself not wearing as often as the Seiko or even the Tudor. I think the Hodinkee Zulu is more my style than the standard Zulus.
Nice will get a 58 gmt once price drop a bit more in the 2nd market , that the perfect gmt ;)
I have the same Longines. Highly recommend it.
I just got my first GMT, a Jack Mason Dr. Pepper that blew me away and is an amazing quality time piece and a great value under that $1500 price level. It’s got great dimensions at 40 by 13.2, super clean Jubilee style bracelet with huge style, screw links, and easy micro-adjust, unique color and design, and iconic Texas brand heritage at a hard to believe price point. Check it out!
totally agree! Version 2.0 for me.
Mido Ocean Star GMT… what else?
Now with your selection… Longines 😊
Thanks Max, I enjoyed your video presentation.
The BB58 GMT is to bling bling, thats why I went with the more chunky tooly BB pro. 😊
I'm happy with the 36mm Ronda quartz-powered, GS lookalike GMT I got from Ali. I dislike dive-style GMTs and there's little choice in smaller bezelless models. I got a lot for my US $69, too; good finishing, beautiful dial and a nice bracelet.
somehow i had a hunch you would go with the Seiko at the end 🤣
Just ordered the Nodus Raven Trailtrekker as my gada GMT, looking forward to receiving
That's a good one 👀
I have a Tudor BB Pro, great daily wearer.
Longines Spirit Zulu Time GMT 42mm on my wrist!
I have the Zulu in 42mm and really enjoy wearing it. I have a Seiko Speedtimer and SKX009 for those days which might be a bit more rough and tumble
It is probably too much for a Seiko of this caliber. But I have this watch (SPB411) and despite the price - I love it! 😮
Waiting on the polar BB58
Max, we seem to have very similar tastes! I have the SPB411, Zulu Time (but in blue), and the BB Pro (I likes em thicc). Oh and the Broad Arrow '57 as well!
Pelegos GMT 39mm is the sweet spot....titanium. Or a titanium Hydro Conquest GMT.
Ultimate holiday watches.
There's not a lot of love by the big brands for a midsized titanium diver. Pretty much just the pelagos 39, and you're screwed if you want the date. They mostly use Ti as an excuse to make a giant watch a little less bulky. New Zulu time is cool from longines though recently.
@K.J.H_ completely agree. I'd def be keen on the 39mm Titanium Zulu time, but put off by the male end links and no micro adjust. I do like the change in look from all my divers too though.
@@scollyutube For sure, on-the-fly adjust is a prerequisite for me at that price these days. Im on the hunt for a Ti diver as a daily. Comfort is a top priority now.
5:54 The date asymetric date window boggles my mind. A no go for me
It always amazes me how much beauty and precision are added to the parts of MAMACOO 's watch 99% of people will never see.
The Longines does look really good, but after trying it on I was pretty disappointed by the bracelet.
It was really slim and light, which made the watch feel very top-heavy.
Boy, those five stars are a dealbreaker for me.
I've always thought the snowflake hands were beautiful. If I had all three watches I would always gravitate to the Tudor.
You asked: “is there another 39 mm GMT” have you looked at the Lorier Hyperion with a true GMT Seiko movement? It is gorgeous
Praying they update the BB pro with a thinner case after the release of BB 58 gmt.
I was able to get a used zulu time for $1500. So best of 2 worlds and currently on a zero pass strap.
I have to say that MAMACOO 's watches are amazing!
The BB58 GMT was so close to being perfect. It just needed the bezel to not be guilt numerals... and maybe a brighter red. I could never take it over the Grand Seiko SBGM221 at a similar price.
So many people shit on Seiko's prices but they are comparing them to Chinese knockoffs and questionable micros. Compared to Swiss they are a bargain. Ive been collecting for about 7 years and there are three brands I keep coming back to, Seiko, Longines and Omega.
Nope, they compare seiko to itself, theres been a great increase in price across the board, look at the re-release seiko did of the old seiko5 watches, theres a 2 times markup there
Seiko is still good value but its far from the bargain its been in the past
I prefer the hydroconquest GMT. Even more tool-ier with the divers bezel and the ultimate GADA watch.
The Seinfeld reference was just immaculate
Grand Seiko SBGN 021 a high accuracy quartz. It's my daily.
Can you make some videos showing your Pagani Design collection? Thanks in advance!
Great job!
The one to rule them all... Zulu Titanium. Feels like wearing a 5 digit rollie.
Wise GMT
Love the Seinfeld reference, nice content!
Classic 👌
SBGM221 is definitely top of the line in terms of 39mm GMTs
All 3 are great. If it were my money I would buy the Tudor.
I would personally go for a GS 9F GMT over these, and in fact did go for this. Of these, I’d be more interested in the Seiko if it were upgraded to an SLA. All three watches shown are very nice of course, just my preference.
I wish more GMT's offered the red and blue bezel. The new Tudor is on my list.
Picked up a AMZWATCH's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
A GMT watch is not high on my collection priorities list so I'd consider something different - for just a little over the Seiko's price Farer offers World timers with a modified Sellita SW 330 (top grade at that), great looks, lume and WR. The perfect choice for the 'Desk Globetrotter' in my opinion.
I like that Zulu!! Great video as usual!
Of the three, the Seiko is the best looking. IMO
The NaviTimer Reissue is absolutely fantastic. Shame Tudor won't move away from the snowflake hour hand (or provide an alternate option). It uglifies an otherwise gorgeous watch, and by far the nicest of the three.
Longines Zulu 42 mm Green/Black is on my wrist. Ha ha. I owned the Seiko SSK003 so I don't need another Seiko GMT.
I agreed Tudor BB58 GMT is nearly perfect and it is under my radar. But it is hot in all around the world and shortage in stock in Hong Kong. Means you have to wait for a time.
Any pics on the Nodus?
As beautiful as the other two watches are, I was thinking as the video played that the Seiko looks outstanding on you.
I hope next year they’ll release the 58 GMT in another color scheme - Batman would be a dream come true…
Every watch has its own features and beauty, but I personally do not think about buying any of them because I own explorer 2 - 16570
I'll take tudor. But it really depends on what clothes you're gonna wear.
Definitely Tudor!
I miss the Citizen Series 8 GMT. A true GMT for even less than the Seiko.
They are still available in Hong Kong.
I think I have a problem. I have the seiko spb411, a blue spirit Zulu 42mm on the blue strap and i am wondering whether to get the black bay 58 or the 41 with the burgundy bezel. Send help
The cream Presage Cocktail GMT have GS feels
Love the BB family but in this comparison my choice aesthetically: L > T > S.
Seiko has the best design by far
I have few world time (3) and a GMT, all not over 200 bucks so I don't think my answer qualify here haha
After so many videos, is there a particular reason to not list the watches in the description?
BB58GMT is a great watch.
Can you take a look at the Yema superman 500 GMT ?
What's the rationale for chosing Aluminium as bezel material on the BB? It's a notoriously light but scratch sensitive material, because it's butter soft compared to a steel, let alone a ceramic bezel like on the Longines. Thanks for the insights already!
Love that Longines, I just wish that the bezel had a matte ceramic finish rather than the glossy.
The gloss finish just looks cheap (it’s a complaint I have with Rolex as well).
the new titanium has a matt finish bezel on its lower half
I just can’t get past the five stars on the Longines.
hmm watch crunch colllab watch - looks like the nodus sector pilot
3 very nice 39mm GMTs, especially the Tudor. However, a compelling argument can also be made for saving a great deal of $$ with a Lorier Hyperion, a 39mm true GMT with classic Pepsi style for $599. I tried it on at a local watch show and it is quite nice, giving off pleasing vintage 1675 vibes - feels like a NOS vintage watch.
I don't really like the design of the Seiko. Tried the Longines, but the lugs are just too long for me. And I don't like the gilt on the Tudor, so I'll just have to wait for either a thinner BB Pro or a different color release on the 58 GMT.
Traska Venturer. Its the king at the sub 1k mark
Tudor BB pro or 58, that is the question. 😊
Both! 😂
CWM, Läco Paderborn, I'm trying to justify buying the distressed Erbstuck variant... Looks so sweet
@@drbobsnightmare2521 grab one!!! It makes the watch
@@drbobsnightmare2521 its so good and worth every penny
If you can't afford these, take a look at the Wise Adamascus GMT. $670, Miyota 9075, 904 steel.
Seiko is sweet
Longines is lovely
Tudor is top, great watch
