I just changed from PS5 to Xbox series x and since there is no cross progression I got into bot/new comers lobbies. I was a god but now I feel like trash. I now get bot lobbies or god lobbies and I'm still just a mid skilled player 😭😭😭😭
What I actually meant to say is that my skill level feels like it went down. I got good bc I got my ass destroyed and I learned from it. But know people don't know what they r doing so they become unpredictable and they fight differently than a skilled player
Not only is this amazing for new players , but it also discourages scumbag behavior like light spamming or dodge attack spamming , making newer players actually play the game and get a decent skill level , as a rep 120 player that has been playing for almost 2 years I can say this is the PERFECT new player for honor guide

One big thing you forgot: stamina management. In 6:46 you have just enough stamina left to do your chain bash. But you don't have enough left to feint into a guard break. If the LB were smart, he would've dodge bashed you and put you oos, knowing that there's nothing you can do about it, after that he would have a 50/50 with his unblockable that would most likely kill you.

Quick tip 90% of the time openers (first swing into mix up) will be a light so knowing that just be quick on reaction an get that light parry. If they have a bash then you should be ready to dodge or expect light opener. Other than that you just gotta put time in an get brutally destroyed until you figure it out we’ve all been there it sucks lol also that you that Kensi conditioned into dodging after heavy

Thanks a LOT, it’s been a good few months since I watched this and now I’ve got quite a few reps on my heroes but I just wanted to drop in this message to say I couldn’t have done it without you. Very rarely do I find videos that I can feel actually improved my gameplay (to be fair though, my gameplay was very bad it wasn’t hard to improve), but this one was different. Thank you
This was actually amazing. Pretty basic, but still good tips that everyone should know, and the script was excellent, didn't feel dragged or rushed imho. Kinda made me want to record something similar
Hey! This popped up in my recommended. Even though im also a veteran player (i have around 1200hrs+) this guide is really well made. Super good information on how to read, how to counter spam and general good tips! Just wanted to add that not every hero is designed to perform exceptionally well in every game mode. Picking your hero is also very important and team composition is really important too, especially in dominion and breach modes. You can't have a team full of duelists and expect to win against 2 shugokis and 2 raiders. Obviously you can, but what im trying to say is that there are heroes who specialize in ganking and have amazing ganking tools and there are heroes who are better in 1v1's and you should pick a hero that is more proper for the type of game mode you're playing. Heroes that are good for dominion and breach usually have big attack hitboxes, good feats, hyper armor and a lot of health. Heroes that are better for 1v1's usually have a lot of mixups, fast lights and bash mixups. Unless you're repping up a specific character, then by all means go ahead and grind those armor sets!
If like to say that it’s good to notice what way they throw after an attack. If they ex. Throw top attack then right or left attack over and over you can pretty much rule out that they going to do top attack twice. This is especially useful against conq, aramusha and medjay who all have a infinite chain attack
I only have 1 issue with this, and it was your first point. The game is becoming more about reading than reacting. If you play based on reaction, you’re going to end up eating a lot of attacks. All of the most recent buffs and new heros also make it much harder to play reaction based. You gotta find the sweet spot in the middle where you react when needed and read when needed. Everything else is great, good advice for new or returning players. Well done 😄
Tip number 3 is the biggest thing I try to drive home with every new player I help out. Sadly most of them don't want to listen and then they get mad and Uninstall :/
I really wish there was content like this for individual heroes. Every video I find is just saying what the characters moves are followed by raw gameplay. An in-depth guide of fundamental rules and options in general situations for each hero would be really cool.
cool video bro, im not a new player but interesting to see how other people might play i am a reactionary player most of the time but i might start trying to read. one thing ive noticed people do when vsing a light spammer is as soon as the light spammer moves their guard go for a parry because it will most of the time be a light
I have at least a couple thousand hours in For Honor, and I found this slightly humorous. I already know all this and saw it because it was in my recommended, but I do believe it is all helpful.
Your voice is like a kiai, a sweet kiai that slowly drains my stamina while I'm in a comfy bed I'm happy to see that there is more and more content creation about For Honor, keep it up the video was good and I will definetly watch out for the next one
This is a lot of good advice, however, I would like to note that there may have been better choices for demonstrating the 'good 'defense' aspect of this video other than Conq. Again, this is not to diminish the overall solid advice. I would suggest using a character that doesn't have as many options as Conq does throughout his chain or for his openers. He is very safe to play offensively with due to his innate properties and how much damage he can get off with a fast, simply animated bash that also has a very fast recovery. As well as easy-access unblockables that force the opponent into moving without much risk to the Conq. Personally, I think Warden, LB, Kensei or WL would have been a bit more effective in communicating those points due to their simpler, less protective kit, forcing the player (especially in a duel setting) to get creative with how they play and initiate/continue offense. These characters would also open up the floor to talk directly about how punishes work and what different kinds there are (wallsplat, knockdown, OOS, OOS knockdown, etc.). It's good that you went into how reads work, maybe if you make another one of these tips videos for the reads section, you could talk about how even certain characters have specific patterns. Like how a lot of LBs with throw a top light as an opener or bash. Or Cents usually only doing a jump, kick, or getting close and throwing a light. Overall, good video, by no means perfect, but it is definitely the start of something good. I'm looking forward to seeing more. :)
Very well said and no harm done. There’s definitely things I left out on purpose for the next video because it does get pretty complex if you’re new but, there’s also things I didn’t think about until you said something so I am thankful. I hope to see you in the next one!
As someone who genuinely Cant do reads or react to lights while having over 1000/2000 hours on xbox this is genuinely helpful and not many are but this makes sense
When I started I realized a few hours into the game they had different play styles so I decided to try to train against all of them to parry/dodge their attacks, thanks for the tips
I haven’t played For Honor in years. I got it today on sale seeing more of my friends come back to it. I’ll be admittedly playing bots all day 😂😂 but I’ll be referencing this video while I do until I get better. Thanks for your information presented in a very good educational tone. Secret tip for the PC players, look after your physical and mental well-being (console players can do this too ig...) Take a quick break to play a high reaction intensity game (osu, aim trainer’s, reflex games) Put some practice into learning animations and shit And then just react to more or less everything the opponent does (in duels) and win
I’m struggling to play with my friends because I feel like my skill level is horrific for their lobby’s like last game they all left after we lost and got off and I feel if I would have just been better they would have stayed on. I feel this is absolutely a video I needed
As late as i am, i just got the game yesterday, and i wanna get the foundations down. Can't wait to get into it. More importantly, thank you for the guide, and i would be down for some gaming if you still play or if anyone wants to play!
I HIGHLY recommend you play against level 2 and 3 AI in the training grounds as a beginner. The AI is quite accurate to players you'll be fighting. (If that's too difficult, practice light parries and parries in general)
So, completely unrelated to what the video is about. Your voice is really easy to fall asleep to, like it’s smooth and calm..unlike most for honor players voices
Sometimes intentionally throwing an unpredictable attack can catch them. I play kyoshin sometimes and I go into Kaze then go out of it into zone catches a lot of opponents because when have you seen a kyoshin bait his Kaze
Coming from a rep 10 here, I'm gonna expand on the "learning heroes" tip. it's my experience that most players(at least in my current skill level) Meta-game to hell and back, meaning they use the internet to find a specific hero's most damaging punishes and best combos, which can be very annoying to deal with. You can counter this by doing the same thing, but learning said combos to counter them. Take Jormungander right now. There's Jorge's all over the place doing the exact same chain of hits bevause it's a pretty great combo, but because I know it, I'm ready to deal with it. You don't HAVE to meta-game to win games, but it definitely helps to understand your opponent's biggest strengths and how to react to them. You don't have to be a light-parry reaction god if you know what they're most likely to do before they even push a button
ok , its not bad to use a strong hero , especially if they like the kit , and , just as you said , it annoying seeing people use the same exact combo in the same exact character over and over again , but that's how for honor works , every hero has its unique playstyle , thats why every player playing jorm tend to bash a lot , cause it's his main tool , with this said , as you start getting more experience in the game , you will notice little variations on how anyone plays their hero , one might like to feint a heavy into gb while other might like to feint into a light , one player might like to dodge more and other will try to catch the parry... Overall the new player experience sucks but you will start getting better matches eventually , hone your skills , get a grip of how do YOU like to play and forget about meta heroes (unless they are super broken, like the zhanhu dodge change some weeks ago) , overall , try to have fun and dont worry to much about people abusing broken tactics
I must say. a good tip would be: Coming back to this video from time to time. to improve slowly and watching the explanations to see what one did wrong. :)
@@Chr0meGaming would have been amazing but now we got whatever the fuck kind of mix mash that is we getting... But it's definitely gonna be fun for atleast a few days before ubi notices that the rework should not go live
Brilliant vid man! On the off chance you read this, I’ve improved a lot since giving this vid a few watches and I’d consider myself ‘ok’ for my overalll rep (14, I started playing about a month ago). My only struggles I encounter is where I try parry/deflect a majority of the time (even during lights combos when it’s better to block) and ‘wind-up(???)’ heavies (which I parry/dodge too early on) which I’ll get noted down after more time. Love your stuff man, all the best for you!❤
Ayo, this video is really good, i'm actually rep 150 player and it's still interesting. but it have one problem. Background is too empty. Put some music and it will be MUCH better
Amazing video dude, just purchased the game and I'm into keep watching your videos, keep it up . Great tutorial ... thank you for sharing your knowledge. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪😘😘
Lol just give it time. There’s so much to learn about this game and it’s always changing, which can be difficult at first but there’s definitely been some great moments. Hopefully my next guides will help ya out!
I just reached the 100th rep on my account with PS5 and I think there’s something really important to point out. Consoles reaction time is way lower than PCs. Basically when it comes to mouse vs joystick, there’s no real competition, mouse gives you an advantage. And it’s really frustrating because I always end up in servers of all PC players vs me with my PS5, that and also the rep level gap between me and my opponents (I usually play against rep 500th or higher, reaching even 1200th reps)
OK already have an issue - why is it that when my enemy side dodges and I attempt a GB they just ignore it and continue with the dodge attack? Yet at the same time I get grabbed EVERY FUCKIN TIME??
This helps alot thanks would definitely like team fight tips i just started this game again i played when it pretty much first started but then i started playing other games but iv been playing alot of chivalry 2 and been wanting to get back into this game
Only thing left out is that you need to light parry, once you get to a certain point people will just light parry all your openers, second attacks, etc. Crazy
If outside of 1v1 duel, here is a good tip. Have a friend who you rely on and he/she can rely on you. Communicate via mic. Play the objectives. Utilize all your perks

I HIGHLY recommend you play against level 2 and 3 AI in the training grounds as a beginner. The AI is quite accurate to players you'll be fighting. (If that's too difficult, practice light parries and parries in general)
Bro your voice is so calming! Just earnt a sub!
Asmr for the win. Thanks for the sub!
thanks man i just started playing and this helped so much thank you and have a good one!
So, completely unrelated to what the video is about. Your voice is really easy to fall asleep to, like it’s smooth and calm..unlike most for honor players voices
Wow, that’s actually really nice. I don’t feel worthy enough but thank you!
Ngl bro this was a funny and informative video big W
Sometimes intentionally throwing an unpredictable attack can catch them. I play kyoshin sometimes and I go into Kaze then go out of it into zone catches a lot of opponents because when have you seen a kyoshin bait his Kaze
Why are you whispering tho
It probably night
ASMR
He doesnt need to talk loudly if his mic is good enough to record his voice at low volume.
He’s making love to your ears
Very well made. Thanks mate.
Your voice being so soft is one of the main reasons why I kept watching Im not going to lie
Haha love it!
Your voice gives me comfort
You have a great voice for this. Great vid, keep it up
Haha thanks, I will🙏🏼
I must say. a good tip would be: Coming back to this video from time to time. to improve slowly and watching the explanations to see what one did wrong. :)
You deserve a lot more subs this was great
I’m glad you enjoyed it thanks for the motivation👌🏼
Thank you alot... This real helped me as a lawbringer main as im mostly the underdog in every fight because... Well I'm playing lawbringer
Glad I could help! Wait till after his rework lol
@@Chr0meGaming yeah that rework is... A little bit busted in my opinion
@@damiankrause6622 honestly…they should have just brought back shove on block😂
I’m with ya. It was a thought in the back of my head while making it but I got lazy..haha oops.
nice vid!
Thank you! I hope it helped!
Great video man; had me cracking up and it makes me hate for honor a little bit less. You’ve earned my sub and like👍🏽
group fights at start of your video was awesome to watch, should have tips on group fights
Loved the video, useful and comedic
Man your video editing is on point
Really appreciate that, thank you!
loved the video but i can't stand the voice. sorry. some helpful insights though.
@@Longsword. got it! Use voice changer on my vids lol
@@Chr0meGaming i just find ''''asmr''''' incredibly unbearable
@@Longsword. lol it’s all good man no harm done. It’s funny cause ASMR wasn’t intended😂
I know it’s informational but the kensei dodging and you saying “ if you guessed dodge… your correct” is HILLARIOUS 😭😭😭
Lol glad you enjoyed that
you’re trash
Hey I have a question should I dodge or parry as an aramusha as I usually use the all block I'm new and trying to improve
Amazing video dude, just purchased the game and I'm into keep watching your videos, keep it up . Great tutorial ... thank you for sharing your knowledge.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪😘😘
Just redownloaded the game after at least 2 years. After 10 matches I finally faced a character I recognized. Time to brush up
This helped me a lot thanks
Not a problem! You're welcome.
Just got into this game and am loving it so far! However, for the life of me I cannot fight if its not 1v1
Lol just give it time. There’s so much to learn about this game and it’s always changing, which can be difficult at first but there’s definitely been some great moments. Hopefully my next guides will help ya out!
Damn , that was really good , thanks man👍
I just reached the 100th rep on my account with PS5 and I think there’s something really important to point out.
Very good explanations and chilled voice.
Deserved sub✅
Deserved Bell Notification✅
I don’t feel worthy lol thank you🙏🏼
Best video on how to actually get better at this game make more thank you
I gotcha👌🏼
Great video man, this will be amazing for new players and a good review for old players. 👍 Good luck to everyone 🍀
That’s exactly what we like to hear! I appreciate the feedback👌🏼
Great vid, definitely subbed💯
Very well done explaining the conq lb fight!
OK already have an issue - why is it that when my enemy side dodges and I attempt a GB they just ignore it and continue with the dodge attack? Yet at the same time I get grabbed EVERY FUCKIN TIME??
hey just got into the game bc my bro wanted me to play so i said alright. Thanks sm for the tips i hope it helps me in game but i learnt a lot
Shame I can’t pause the duels to analyse his previous attacks and plan my move 😢
Little tip to help focus on learning what certain characters can do then try to read your opponents based on what those characters are limited to.
This helps alot thanks would definitely like team fight tips i just started this game again i played when it pretty much first started but then i started playing other games but iv been playing alot of chivalry 2 and been wanting to get back into this game
Do work in class❌ watch how to get good at for honor✅
Only thing left out is that you need to light parry, once you get to a certain point people will just light parry all your openers, second attacks, etc. Crazy
The reaction monsters lol
Great video dude:)
If outside of 1v1 duel, here is a good tip. Have a friend who you rely on and he/she can rely on you. Communicate via mic. Play the objectives. Utilize all your perks
