- Here is my third video in this build series. In this video I will complete steps 9 to 27. This mainly includes the road wheels, upper hull and turret rotation system.
This will be a step by step guide into making one of the most popular WW2 tanks in history, the awesome Tamiya's Tiger 1 RC Tank. I hope you all enjoy.

I am afraid I,d be unable to build such a gorgeous model. My congratulations, dear friend!
Much appreciated
Now I'm totally addicted to this tank build.
+rujagorn sarapun excellent, glad to hear that you are enjoying the videos. Thanks for watching
Good afternoon. I'm in the process of building the Static version ( Desert Tiger ) of this tank and making it into an RC version. I'm also detailing using the ABER brass set for this tank and am going back and forth between three manuals ( ABER, Tamiya Static and Tamiya RC ) It is a complicated build and will be an excellent tank for a Friend. I just ordered the standard RC version for myself , a version which included all the Desert Tiger sprues, so will be building another one for my Xmas present. I can't say enough good about aftermarket detail sets like the ABER, Voyager and also the Schumo set of nickel silver add-ons for this tank. Just having the little brass plates which hide the inset phillips screws make the ABER set worth all of the fiddly time spent.
+Painless Black Wolf excellent, certainly sounds like it is going to be a great looking tank. I love super detailed models. I need to get myself another one. Thanks for watching
I would love to tackle this but it would probably take me 6 months to do and that is if I didn't lose any of the pieces. Tamiya is SO damned expensive but you can see why. With the initial cost + shipping + import fees and taxes, we are approaching $2,000 CDN and THEN you have to put it all together. Your videos help but the fear factor is still there. Love your video. Will look for others on UA-cam.
a Timelapse would have been absolutely awesome
+UnstablePyro19 yeah next time
There are so many road wheels because since the tiger was such a large and heavy tank, The weight needed to be dispersed a lot. The engineers that worked on the tiger loved this idea and were so happy because as engineers they tend to over-complicate things but for the tank crews, it was a different story because you would have to remove several road wheels to just access 1.
+SpudsTheBinky thanks mate! Appreciate your comment. Definitely was an over engineered piece of machinery
Np and love your vids. I always love when people make quality builds that actually help others but entertain at the same time ;)
+SpudsTheBinky definitely :) Thanks again
Really need to do a video on building this wheels it’s very confuseing for beginners
Cheers mate
@@RCTanksTrucks247 I got the a wheels and B wheels mixed up had take them all off redo it I didn’t notice it till I went to put the Traxxs on the tiger 1
Great build so far, but you keep saying that the little fiddly bits are not very interesting to watch. I've never built a 1/16 tank so I don't know what it's like, but for me that the best part of the build for me.
+Nils Opitz-Ball sorry about that. Next tank I build I will try and video the those parts
RC Tanks & Trucks 24/7 no Problem mate. If it doesn't work our then it doesn't.
yes. less manual showing and show how things are put together please.
Looks rly nice!
If u want to do Bovington Tiger 131 u have to change airfilters and gun mantle.
The easiest way to do this is get "K Parts" for the Tamiya Tiger I Display Model. If you get it you can do opened hatches for driver and radio operator too :)
+q8Raziel8p thanks mate, greatly appreciated. I will leave the parts as is. Doesn't really matter, just want the paint scheme to look very similar.
the road wheels are interleaved to spread out the weight of the tank. because the tiger is a very heavy tank
+Lance corporal cook thanks, sure did weigh a fair bit. No wonder the underpowered motor kept of breaking down.
Like, bratko!
+DCCTRAIN hvala brat. Where is your T34? :)
Brat, this is actually pushed me to do my T34. I'm starting this Wednesday.
+DCCTRAIN LLC Model Store ah excellent :) Can't wait to see it
I'd recommend to watch this video on 2 speed.
Air Filters are totally wrong for a Bovington tank, but loving the video
the road wells whhere interweave so it could drive on train tracks
tj cundiff How do you work that out?
Their not going to mate with railway track with the tanks track on and remove the track = no drive.
They were moved around by train a lot as they were too heavy to move long distances any other way but not directly on the rails as far im aware.
You may getting confused with the fact they had to remove outer sets of wheels and fit special narrower 'travel tracks' to be moved by rail car because they were too wide for the rail gauge of European railways.
what color scheme you will be painting?
RC Tanks & Trucks 24/7 oh cool
The reason for so many road wheels was to distribute weight evenly on the track
Yeah, definitely needed it
thank you for reading the manual lol
