I've got one. Had it for about 8 years. But mine came with a full charger, not USB. You can get brass gearbox too. The problem with them is the tracks seem to stretch slightly over time causing slip of track drive sprocket. There is adjusters available as an upgrade. Respect

a brushless conversion would definitely make it more enjoyable, even dual 550 brushed motors would make it fly on 2s, Its probably only got dual 390 motors maybe not even that.
I have an O-L-D Tamiya Leopard RC that was set up with a single motor, dual clutches and one huge battery and ESC. I converted it to two Taigen gearboxes, with dual ESCs and 2s LiPo's, and with the sheer weight of the thing, combined with the gearing, it's slow, but with the right tow hitch, I think it could pull a maxed out pulling sled "full pull," assuming the metal tracks don't spin out. The steel tracks don't get as much traction as you'd expect, even on dirt - and forget asphalt streets or tile floors.
I just bought me a M41A3 on Amazon with the metal upgrades. When I was a child I had a Sherman tank from Radio Shack. That was 1984. I hope this M41A3 is as good.
After 11 months of ownership I can say that this tank is superior in every way possible that can be imagined compared to the Sherman take from 1984. 👍😎👍
I’m pretty sure there is a button combination on that controller where you can slow down the movements so it’s less touchy and moves more realistic... also these have been around for a long time since the 2000’s, they compete with Taigen and Tamiya tanks! I have a tiger 1 from 2012 and still has the older FM radio but I’m currently in the process of upgrading from the old school control board inside to the latest TK6.1s
Just have to let you know me and my 5 year old son absolutely love your channel we first subscribed after watching your review of the ripsaw ev2 tank review and we just received the tank yesterday and my son couldn't be any happier with it, keep up the great content and rock on!
I had the Tiger. A lot of tank for the money, but the ESCs have a huge deadspot and start abruptly so precise steering is almost impossible. Looks like this has the same problem. Mechanically it's great though, but I recommend replacing the electronics for better control.
What about the 8ight whatever version they're on now? Actually, what ever happened to full-on 1/8th scale racing buggies? The market used to be oversaturated and they were super popular, now it's almost like they don't exist anymore.
Expect to spend £600/$790 on two tanks, one isn't enough. It doesn't get mentioned very much in reviews, but the "infrared battle system" is really where the fun is! Simpler if Henglong marketed these as "laser tag with tanks", because that's what it is. Battles are best indoors (Stalingrad) or out of doors after dark (Kursk), because the infrared is light sensitive and target detection works better in low light. It's also fun to shoot 6mm airsoft paintballs, just much harder to hit your opponent. These tanks are incredibly fun to play with and also very enjoyable If you are into the history. The models are reasonably accurate and there is an absolutely massive aftermarket for mechanical and cosmetic upgrades, basically anything you can think of, for these tanks. It should be quite obvious but, NOT SAFE FOR UNSUPERVISED YOUNGER CHILDREN!
Just came across this video, I would love to see a nitro version of it that would be cool. I see the gun uses air soft ammo, they make different weights of those, you would have better penetration with the 25 gram ( black) ammo depending on the power of the piston that drives the air charge. I read in the comments about trying ball bearings, If you can find 5.5mm steel bearings it should work depending on the power of the air charge. I have used them in a air soft rifle with mixed results. Although using 5.5mm silicon nitride (ceramic) balls are much better.
Nice review Kev, there are places out here that have model villages where people battle these things against each other. Proportional control looks good. Where was Pat when you needed target practice?
I got the jaguar panther 1/16 that fires plastic bbs and it's made by heng long. It gets stuck in high grass so I don't play with it much. Awesome walker
I’m really wondering why he didn’t talk about the tank’s suspension the entire video. He would usually talk about the suspension in every video about unboxing or something.
I had one about about 35 years ago from Radio Shack.....was fun and quite simular in size and basic funtion. It didn't have the exhaust smoke or shoot. I'm now 48 and would play with this one. Pretty cool....If I remember right mine cost around $40 or $50..... I wonder what the price is..??
My dad had an RC tank when I was a kid, "back in the early 70's" this thing was built, "like a tank" had a 3hp gas motor. I could sit on it while he drove it around. It would shoot BB'S.
I have the mk4 , Acompany in Aussie sells low range gearboxes, metal tracks, wheels hatches etc, the gearboxes made a huge difference if you want to drive and paint them to scale.
For over 14's, you can have an IR battle system so you can fight other tanks no BB's. Pleased you are so safety conscious Kev, launching 70 mph RC trucks 30 feet into the air at a kids scare park is kosher mate. LOL🤯👍
Video: this tank is too dangerous for kids! Me: 10 years old, saves money and orders tank and it arrives. It's a pretty awesome tank, it's my favorite rc vehicle I've owned. It's slow, I haven't loaded any bb's inside, but yesterday, June 26, it felt like it lasted for 2 hours even though to box says 20 minutes. I'm not a dumb toddler,(no offense toddlers reading this) but I know not to stick anything in the caterpillar treads of the tank. I ordered it on Amazon, promotion version for 215 US dollars and I think it's worth more than the price.

I may be an adult, but toy tanks that shoot are bad ass
pretty sure this thing wasn't meant for kids, wouldn't want to see what they do with it...
Imagine if it used actual tiny shells and if you shot in in the ammunition with another tank the turret just goes flying. That would be amazing!

M41 Walker Bulldog baby! Out of all the other Henglong tanks, this one IMO is the funnest to drive around. Moves around like a light tank should. :)
@Russ Woodward hey, glad I can help.
I don't know, man - I've always been very fond of the Sherman's drivability.
Tao Kaka bro just be quite and shutup
Ik this tank because I have it on a game called world of tanks
Looks fun. Thx for sharing
I got one of these in 2011 and It was so good I got another one then built another from scratch!
Good fun machines!
Very cool and thorough review and test. Looks like a Banggood good bang for your bucks.
I always want a rc tank with working guns SUPER THANKS TO YOU BECAUSE I ORDERED IT AND I GOT IT

I got the tiger 1 version for my bday, Very nice RC!! I love it

Kev was sick and still made the best quality videos around!
Kev, when you clean your rc's use an air gun to blow off around the bearings so you don't have to spray near them when you clean them with the hose.
Wow it is really awesome sir love you so much🔥

Tanks for reviewing this for us.
Looks real tank~!!!I love it~!!👍😁👍
I remember my brother used to have a tiger tank version and it was all metal. And made sound effects and shot BB’s. Was a cool bit of kit 👍🏻
That was a good video, I Iike the trials you put it through, it seems the tank needs some more weight, then it could get a lot more traction.

@George Street Station used to, they are now known as airsoft and not BB guns.

@George Street Station Yes, but these are plastic.
Make it really dangerous by replacing the barrel with a steel barrel and make it fire a .22 cal. bullet.
