They're going to the one 'best' result soon. That by default will cut heavily into their earnings. Here's the kicker. They don't care about money. It was never about money.
But what about content marketing? I think that's what more people are concerned about, if Google is giving information that users are looking for directly on search, what drives them to your site for you to further upsell
It is not yet clear how it will impact content marketing. Here are some tips for content marketing in the age of Project Magi: Focus on long-form content: Long-form content is more likely to rank well in search results and provide users with the information that they are looking for. Use visuals: Visual content, such as infographics, videos, and images, can help to break up your content and make it more engaging. Be conversational: Use a conversational tone in your writing to make your content more engaging and relatable. Be helpful: Provide value to your readers by answering their questions and providing them with useful information. Be consistent: Publish new content on a regular basis to keep your readers engaged and coming back for more.
It's already impacting content marketing. There's no need to click through for tons of searches now. However, I find that if you focus on topics that require further reading in most cases, you can improve CTR.
I don't want to see results, I want to see the seven best bikes for me given my details. Which means I will never need to go to another website again or look at another ad. The future is AI bias with invisible ads or subscription levels for just the answers.

Google's search capability is not an actual search any more it is basically a 'you might like what these other people like' ad generator. Try to look for something specific, I bet you won't find it!
These changes are just an additional learning curve, and we are all learning it. If you're starting out, focus on grasping the fundamentals first and gradually adapt to new changes, ensuring a strong foundation and continuous growth in your SEO skills.

I think SEO will not work for those who will not show up in Chatgpt, Bard etc as I have not used Google Search for 2 months now as I only search on those new AI tools. Now the question is, how much content do you need to make it to Bard, etc top generated results? 10 blog posts a month? This has to be discussed seriously now as people use more GenAi tools as their search engine.
Don't listen to what they say. Watch what they do.
Boom!
To be honest, in the past I’ve found a lot of your content to be generic. But this take is right on the money. Great insight!

Thanks Neil!
