Now that's what I call a great review, straight to the point, detailed without any unnecessary b.s., not too long, not too short. Thank you.
Now THIS is a scooter review. No BS, just results. Thank you man!
Thanks so much for the review. Will be purchasing soon! 🙌🏾
This has to be the best electric scooter review I've seen so far and yeah I think I found my first beginner scooter 😃
Did you like it
What’s your review? I also am thinking of getting one so it might be helpful to get your feedback.
Great review. I have the cruise control on my S2 set to activate automatically. I've found the app to be underwhelming. For example, I wish there was an odometer. But for $400, I can't complain!
Thank you for the thorough, realistic reviews. Watched several of your videos and utilized the specs on your website to narrow down my scooter purchase. Used your promo code to buy two scooters, thank you!!
Awesome! Thanks :)
Great review I just looked at this with a budget of $300 and the s2 caught my eye bout to place order
Thanks for the info. Just bought my S2 and it does exactly as you tested.
Good to know, I try and give a real expectation of what you get
How’s it holding up?
I rode the s1 scooter back with my Dad living in New York and adored it. Living in Florida now and I am SO getting this one. Saving up for it now and I cannot wait.
Go back to NY
@@enmanuelmanan4392 I should, actually moving to Illinois in a few days
Thanks for the review, side note I've been driving semi truck for 25+ years and Richland Utah is one of my favorite stops. It's a clean little town and I like that asphalt jogging Trail that goes through the north side of town.
Love that trail!
Great review!
I’m about 240 and still do a solid 16 mph
wow!
Well Don't gain 40 pounds u won't be able to ride it anymore.ur pushing the boundaries as it is.
Fuggin sick…so it’s worth getting over the Hiboy Max? I just got my wife that one and we love it. Was going to just get one to match but this one caught my eye for 60$ more.
@@justinkredible33 Yup
The warning label on the left side says “do not ride…on uneven terrain or slopes.”
Amazing review mate
Thanks!
Good review. I'm sure you know by now, but when activating the mechanical break lever, it automatically activates both mechanical and re-gen breaks. The re-gen break lever activates the Re-gen break only.
That's right, I've started clarifying that now. Thanks for the comment
Great review! 👍🏼
Thanks!
This scooter has lasted me using it everyday for about a year and a half in college so far - it is by far the best scooter at this price range. Throttle and brakes are smooth. If you’re riding on bumpy roads I suggest pneumatic tires instead of the solid rubber ones. I have the solid tires and they have already worn out by now. They are also a pain to replace but that isn’t the scooters fault.
I have been looking for a comment like this for a while. Thank you for posting this I wanted to see what other people think of their Highboy after having it for more than a week or two LOL. I hope mine does the same as I just ordered one today so I can commute to and from work which is about 7 miles roundtrip
@@ceejaycuevas6652 That's great! It should definitely serve you well. Just be careful of the e-brake when you ride it the first time - it is stronger than you expect. I learned this the hard way by falling off LOL. But treat it like a car brake by easing up on it and you should be fine.
@@goofytuna6077 thank you for that tip knowing myself I would have probably slammed on the the brakes and hurt myself as well LOL. I'm really excited to get it and try it out especially a spring and summer is coming.
Thank you for the most complete, no nonsense review I have seen. I have one ordered! Does it take a special tool to adjust the rear springs and are there directions (how to adjust) in the owner's manual?
It’s pretty straight forward
No info in instructions
My favorite part of the video was the.electronic brake test, I also like how in detail the right parts were in this review
I just ordered our for short trips around town
Th hiboy is way bigger than I thought and it’s always a blast
Hey could you please do a review on the Veo Astro Go?
I have gotrax gxl v2, giving that to my girlfriend and gonna upgrade, stuck between this and the gotrax g4, leaning towards the g4 tho.
Got some hard decisions 😉
@@ElectricRevolution can u pls do the gyrocopter zoom 2.0
G4 is basically an S2 Pro with Pneumatic tires. S2 still has the better Regen braking system though. Can't go wrong either way
I love my S2. I weigh 250ish with my backpack and mine is quick and reliable..
They are a beast
Thank you! This was my main concern.
This is what I needed to know 👍🏼
How’s it holding up?
Does anyone know the height from deck to handlebars? Just ordered mine today and am curious what are some great things about the scooter? I did my research a lot, but love to hear from fellow buyers.
Really great review man! I'm curious if this scooter can be manually kick powered if the battery dies or maybe just to conserve battery? When I get an electric scooter, being able to kick power is a personal requirement. Thanks again!
Thanks man! It can be it's heavy so it will ware you out quick
Please do a review on the qingor electric scooter 🥺
Has me l👀king at the S2. Great ride and price. And a great video and review too. Thanks.... I just looked at the Hiboy website and it looks like the S2 Pro has a lot to offer for a little more money.
Not really a big difference. Just has bigger wheels and more millage, so everything else is the same.
@@christianmarmol3230 hi, I have an S2 but the rear suspension is not at all soft as I see in some videos, on the contrary they are completely rigid and I don't know how to fix. Also do you know if it is possible to mount the s2 pro's 10 inch wheels on the s2? thanks
@@marcospalluto. did you try loosening the rear suspension?
@@christianmarmol3230 I'm sorry, but I don't know how to do it, I tried with an Allen key but the base of the scooter hinders the insertion of it
@@christianmarmol3230 if you were kind enough to explain me step by step how to do it I would be very grateful
Great review! I've watched a few of your reviews and they're so well done, can I ask you what is your personal favourite e-scooter of all? Thanks for the great vids!
Thanks for watching! Hiboy is one of my favorites for the price, hard to beat if you wanna see others in the same price range, check out my website electricrevolutionreviews.com/
very nice vid👍
Thanks for watching🙏
I love my S2. No issues from me
Solid scooter for sure
Do a review on the Hiboy S2R.
Same scooter with bigger tires and replaceable battery to double range. Battery weighs 5lbs and cost $140.
You’re welcome.
Nice !
🙏 for watching
Wait a minute. . . . . . I thought the S2’s headlight was just slightly above the front tire!
Nice review! What app do you use for mapping??
Thanks, I use Map My Walk
But wouldn't it be better to have the battery in the steering rather than on the floor way more easy to damaged if u were to run over something
I'm definitely sold but I'm confused on what would be better, the S2 or the S2 Pro. I don't really care much for how fast it goes, I'm just gonna use it to commute on a paved road to work from a bus stop. I'm also 265lbs and I have yet to find a scooter that says it's rated for people 300lbs and under. I had a gotrax scooter that had the front tire busted.
Also I love how you're driving around Provo Center Street.
I'd go with the Pro, or even a dual motor scooter. I've got a bunch of scooters on my website that may help ya electricrevolutionreviews.com/. P town all the way!
@@ElectricRevolution awesome! Your videos helped me get the Pro! Thank you so much! I got it last night and I'm liking it so far.
I just bought the s2 and it’s great. I don’t know how long these solid tires will last before they lose traction. I think the only thing that’s bad is to replace the front wheel it cost almost as much as the whole scooter.
Yeah can't help ya there, not sure what they charge for replacement tires. My sister had a solid tire scooter and she got over 600 miles on it just an fyi
@@ElectricRevolution $260 for a new front tire. For that I’d just add another hundred and buy a new scooter.
How’s the scooter holding up?
im 238 *limit is 220* and i can feel the struggle up a small hill, some times i gotta kick or walk it.... but on a strait away/down its a beast for the price EDIT: idk why i never got one sooner, i live in a small town thats mostly flat.... saves so much time vs walking... and $ vs driving
im 260. and can ride Lime scooters no problem. would i be able to ride this?
@@xshayner i posted this awile ago lol.. hell yea... when battery is at max u should be good for 19 mph... i thought i would have problems... nope none.. im 230 ish but iv been shopping and have hadded atleast 50 pounds to my backpack with no prob
@@Kyuhll so i bought one last week, i get up to max speed on it haha. guess its just a recommendation not a for sure weight limit.
but like you said i feel the struggle up hill
Great review! But one question, how tall are the handle bars and are they able to be set to a different height
Thanks! I'm 5'11 and could stand straight up and reach past them, so they're high enough where you don't have to bend over and no they are stationary
Has anyone tested out the scooter with the replacement battery. Let me know if it's a must have, be cause I would like to travel long distances. Overall, amazing review.
I haven't yet but maybe soon and thanks!
Hi there, love your videos. I purchased this scooter based on your review, but Hiboy misrepresented the carrying load. I'm 15lbs under the listed capacity (260lbs) and Hiboy S2 Scooter still failed to carry me up even gently sloping hills. Speed drops to 2-3mph forcing me to jump off. Customer service has been appallingly bad trying to get help after purchase. Disappointed.
Same here. I’m 195 and this scooter can’t make it up any hills or slopes period. Return it asap
I know it’s slow up hills with me. I didn’t realize it would be that bad with higher weight 😬
Excellent review! One thing you did not mention is that the warning label on the left side says “do not ride… on uneven terrain or slopes.”
yeeeah who reads that anyways haha
Great review. I must have a bad battery cause at 50% I was not able to get past 15 miles an hour and it quickly decreased to about nine or 8 miles an hour then eventually died at around 25% battery power. I weigh 240lbs and was on slightly incline should I send it back
You may have a rotten apple, I'd switch it out
Is the regenerative feature only available when using electrical braking?
Yes
My roommate had two of these but each if them the rear fender broke. Also the speed was only 10-12mph
The s2 pro has a reinforced rear fender virtually impossible to brake it off. Must be the s2 he had...
I ordered the hiboy s2 for prime day. Considering getting the hiboy s2 pro instead though
Nice! My favorite company for budget scooters! Enjoy!
Was just about to hit buy on Amazon..
Thankfully I hit your video and the hill climbing part stopped me, I was going to buy it to get me too and from work, but I have two steep hills, this would clearly be an issue..
Great video.
I don't suppose you can reccomended a scooter in this price range which would do better up hill?
Edit: seen it with slight cosmetic damaged on Amazon warehouse for half price, that's too good a price not too take a gamble on.
Looking forward to it
It's slow up hills but get's the job done, good luck :)
@@ElectricRevolution I bloody LOVE it!
2:53 - What's the App called? Thanks
Is it different different places cause I got the same an it says 30km
Thanks for the video but I think I'll go with the S2 pro for now unless I find something better soon. I wanted to ask you, Is there a scooter that you recommend that has solid pneumatic tires and goes to at least 23MPH for $700 because that is the most I am willing to spend on a scooter for now. Please let me know when you can
Might wanna check out the segway max, reviewed it a while back, it's close to your price but has air pneumatic tires. ua-cam.com/video/aWyT1LR39sM/v-deo.html
@@ElectricRevolution I just checked out the link you posted but it's something I'm not really looking for. I want the scooter to have solid pneumatic tires because I don't want to risk getting a flat tire and I don't want to go through the hassle of buying spare tires/inner tubes unless you tell me there isn't much of a difference with the air tires and the solid pneumatic tires. I was looking for something that goes to at least 23MPH for $700 or maybe I can go another $100 tops the most. Thanks for replying to me and also, I liked and subscribed :)
@@JKO716 get the fluidfreeride horizon its perfect
@@ElectricRevolution that is not what he asked dude.
@edwong3 That was at the time when I didn't know anything about this, but now I do. Thanks for the correction...1 year later👍
What are your thoughts on GoTrax's Apex Electric Scooter model? You suggested any model from GoTrax and HiBoy are good budget models. i would only be using it to go back and forth from my house to my neighborhood pool and to ride it up and down my local parkway that has a sidewalk. What are your thoughts on the Apex Electric model? any other one that would be comparable to this one? Also one more question: What is the maintenance , and upkeep on an electric/battery scooter? brakes? etc?
Haven't tried the Apex so can't say but this model would be good for what you're looking for, it's more of a put around the neighborhood type of a scooter. Not sure what to say on the up keep, I don't keep them for very long
I bought a refurbished hiboy s2 8 days ago. the accelerator switch doesn't come back up after pressing it. need to manually lift it back. the handle grip was torn as well.
I'd reach out to the company, they should be able to help you out
Never ridden an e scooter before but I need one for daily task like the gym, groceries shopping , going to my friends house, going to the beach taking my husky for a walk so he can run and get a good workout in. I need range don’t care for the fastest scooter just need it to go far. What was the range for this and can you add an extra battery pack to this to extend the range?
Watch the review, I did a range test
what app did you use to track your mileage?
Map My Walk, sorry for late reply
Can u show the cheap folding mechanism that can break easily
I show how to fold it in the review
Is it a good scooter for a 12 year olf
hi, I'm about to get one. My college is actually 8 miles one way commute. I take the bus and that takes like 1 hour. Is S2 model a better option? I can again charge it in my university. what is the battery life? like charging cycles or years? Also how long with the tires lasts?
This is a good scooter for that type of commute. I bet the tires will last ya around 700 miles, depends on how you ride. Not sure what the charge cycle rating is. Hiboy is a very good brand for this price range so it should last a while
I just got the s2 but the suspension was very stiff. How much should I loosen to get a smooth ride? Thanks
You'd just have to play around with it. Some like a stiff rid others not so stiff, I had mine about half way
@@ElectricRevolution if it sinks when i stand on it, is that too loose?
@@DaCream21 It will sink a little, I'd just test it out and see what you like
How is the S2 on dirt roads (not rough trails) or grassy fields?
OK, I wouldn't go to long on it, it will shake ya pretty good
whats the long term review on these? they hold up well?
I'd say yes, I know a couple of people who have had them for a while. The stem screws can come loose but can be fixed with some locktite
15 degree ithink
Is the S2 pro worth the extra money over the S2? The only difference is range: 25 miles vs 17 miles; tire size: 10” vs 8.5”; and motor: 500 watt vs 350 watt. What are your thoughts? I’m leaning towards the S2, but don’t want to regret not spending the extra $150.
It depends how heavy you are, if you're around my weight (190 lbs) I'd go with the pro
@@ElectricRevolution I’m 6’2” 200 lbs. I appreciate the reply and quality review!
Hi can someone tell me how to tune the rear suspension?
Check out their website
How would you compare this to the Gotrax de ultra? I can’t decide between the 2.
I like the Hiboy more and it’s faster but Gottax is a killer scooter too just tops out at 15 mph but both are very well built
Gear Testathon how does it ride with the rubber tires? I’m a little concerned about that.
Also , do you find it actually takes the advertised 6 hours to charge? That is quite a bit longer than the 3-4 the Gotrax advertises. Thanks for you answer by the way!
@@Blackbookproduct10ns They ride smoother than other scooters with rubber tires, those air pockets help to dampen a bit also not sure on the recharge, never tested that out but my experience has show that it's pretty accurate to what the manufacturer says
Gear Testathon last question. How does the battery hold up overtime? Do you put much stock in the Gotrax using LG vs this one using off brand.
@@Blackbookproduct10ns Can't really speak to the Hiboy, my sisters had a couple Gotrax scooters for the past year, she loves them without any problems.
Ninebot Max 👍
So I weigh about 152 pounds so if it goes up to 19 an hour will I go fast ? Also are the tires really good and last what’s the acceleration like
All your questions are addressed in the review, been a while since I made it so can't remember off the top of my head
Are you able to replace these wheels with air filled tires?
You'd have to change the style of the rim. Also you'd be risking a flat.
S2, S2 pro or the Max3? Please help, Thanks in advance
S2 Pro
Is there a e scooter with manual button?
Not sure what you mean
Is the S2 alot better than the gotrax GXL V2? I know it has suspension and the gotrax doesn’t but the gotrax is $100 cheaper
Suspension at this level really doesn't matter, both ride about the same, so you're good with either or
@@ElectricRevolution ended up going with the S2. I just need it to ride to work like a mile there and back 4 times a week through town. Hopefully it’s reliable and lasts decently long
@@sharebear421 How is it going?
how does it handle on a not so smooth roads
Not to good. I’d keep it on the pavement
Hey do you think this would be a good choice for work, my work is like 5 miles away
I'd say yes, that's close. And eventually the scooter will pay for itself.
Absolutely. It's a solid scooter
We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

Are you or anyone reading this comment have issues with battery life? It's advertised at 17 mile range but Im not getting anywhere near that. Honestly I feel like I am getting 3-5 miles maybe. After using it for maybe a mile or 2 the battery indicator goes down to half way. Does turning it on and off often maybe cause a battery drain? I had them ship me a new battery and still the same thing.
Rarely do I get what they advertised range is however you should get longer than that. Battery may be bad
@@ElectricRevolution they sent me another one and seems about to be the same. Maybe slightly better
How do u bust a sweat riding an electric scooter?
You wouldn't on this.. try an off road one, you'd be surprised
So how many hours do the scooter last?
On the highest speed mode around 2 hours
What state is that that looks cool
Utah
Would this be a good scooter for Uber eats ?
Yeah, smooth ride and decent range
Most e scooter factory range tests are done with a 165lb rider.

Would you recommend this as a good first time electro scooter owner? My work is about 6 miles away one way. Looking to spend less time driving my car
Definitely, my favorite brand under $500
Just got the S2. I'd say yes. eBay has some Hiboy refurbished S2s under 300 right now. Next best model is Gotrax G4 but that's about $150-200 more
Does it goes fast on sport mode?
Yes
Which Scooter is better the S2 or the S2r?
I like the S2
@@ElectricRevolution the battery can be changed out fairly easily on the S2 Pro correct?
@@ElectricRevolution You mean the S2 Pro, right??
Hiboy's website says the S2 can handle up to 220lb only but I've read other reviews saying 260-270 lb is it's load capacity. Do you know the true load capacity? Thank you
The hover 1 alpha does a solid 19+ mph I'm 220 lbs
Now 299
Should I get this one or the v2 max hiboy
I’m no expert but I heard good things about the s2 pro, from several reviewers. And I am still debating myself over the go trax g4 and saw another scooter that has awesome reviews the kugoo max. Idk 🤷♂️
Never tested the other model but this model is one of my favs from the three I’ve tried
@@hhova29 Gotrax G4 is a beast. Brakes are better on the S2 and S2 Pro though but G4 has better ride quality. You can always get the S2 now and upgrade the front shock to the Monorim V3 which drastically improves the ride quality of the S2/S2 Pro.
Does it have cruise control
yes
Is it water resistan?
Yes
Is this scooter safe to drive around in town ?
Yes
It’s a good day to live In a completely flat town
Terminology being tricky at times like as example range.... Hill degrees In general I've rarely seen a hill marked with a degree posting. By rarely I might mean NEVER! I know the mathematical way to determine degree but by looking at a local hill I have no idea how's I get the numbers to do the math. Thus in all cases tells no me the degree gout device can handle means almost nothing. That seems risky as a potential consumer. Oh and by handle are we talking the scooter can climb on it's own and is there wiggle room if one I'd OK with significant speed reduction or that and assisting the scooter with kicks during the climb. Terminology being key.
Is that kilometers or miles

Are these scooters waterproof❓❓

This maybe a great scooter but their customer service is nonexistent. No matter how good the product is the lack of attention and response is appalling for todays day and age.
That hasn't been my experience
