  • There are a lot of mice coming out with the 3360 sensor, which is great, but let's not hype too much. Here's a video showing how the top sensors perform in some of the tests that I use in mouse reviews.

    Over 50% pro fps players use Zowie mouses which use 3310 sensor, that means that difference between these sensors is so small that even they dont notice it, which means that it's all about a shape and weight of the mouse.

      3310 is actually a laser sensor unlike the other ones, the base for a 3310 is a pixart 9800 laser sensor, the 3310 uses most of the similar stuff except for accelaration but the 9800 can be made 100% no accel, like on the sensei mlg edition.

    Zy, cheers for helping me with my analysis paralysis over which mouse to get. I opted for the G303 in the end as I have about the same hand size as you, so far so good, you were bang on mate, the wheel is a bit clunky but I'll live. And per your recommendation I gaffled a CM Swift RX pad too, love it. Your content is on point pal, keep up the good work.

    It would be interesting to see you review the FK again when its refreshed with the 3360 so you can test them in perfect conditions. Shape and implementation will change sensor feel so once you have two exactly identical mice with the different sensors we should finally be able to put the 3310 vs 3360 stuff to rest and see if there's actually any difference.

  • @DzinkyDzink
    @DzinkyDzink 8 років тому +3

    Yep, exactly my line. I've been running around internets for almost two years telling people that there's litterally no difference between 3310 and 3988(ever since Rival came out iirc lol) for human eye and feeling and that they should focus on shape and weight and cable and clicks instead of sensor.
    And then Logitech released G502 and it was a nightmare for me cuz all the paid sites and all the marketing-susceptible people flooded the internetz.

    • @DzinkyDzink
      @DzinkyDzink 2 роки тому

      @@foreverprogaming2421 Not among the top tier - 3310, 3360 or 3989 it makes no matter. Some shittier 3325 maybe, but you're paying significantly less for those mice.

  • @aaymanbd
    @aaymanbd 8 років тому

    All of those sensors are fine on cloth pads, but on hard pads you might notice a difference. The 3310 has pretty bad tracking on hard pads, or at least on the one I had.
    The Chroma worked fine while in motion, but sometimes there would be phantom movements and the cursor would move around if it the mouse was still.

    Higher dpi is meant to be used with high accuracy pads, and low dpi can be used on most things. I would like to see some extensive tests with a black hard pad with non repeating pattern with the g303 at 12,000 dpi. I am either getting another zowie fk or getting the g303 and a high accuracy hard pad, just for science and curiosity.

    Thought you'd be interested in knowing the FK2 actually does have a bit of a problem I've noticed. It actually has a pretty jarring z-axis jump bug. It's accomplished by picking up the mouse and setting it down while moving at a rearward and to the left / right angle. It will send your cursor straight down to the ground. I was not able to replicate this on my G900.
    I'm pretty sure the only reason I discovered this was because I am a 80cm/360 gamer heh.

    • @RocketJumpNinja
      @RocketJumpNinja  8 років тому

      I can't seem to replicate that with mine. There have been a few issues with 3310 sensors lately though, so it might be a problem with yours but not others. Something to check out!

    • @DavidDrury90
      @DavidDrury90 8 років тому

      All good, I got what you meant this time and gave it a try... I got it spinning out like that too, but I couldn't do it consistently. People are sleeping here at the moment so I don't want to try too much, the tapping on the mouse pad is loud, but I'll definitely look into it more in the morning and try some other 3310s.
      Thanks for pointing it out! I'd never seen it before... I think you'd either have to accidentally place the mouse down like that or just happen to have that technique. Will get back to you if I figure anything else out.

    Hey Zy, I found a similar mouse to the DM1 Pro, it's called Nixeus REVEL Gaming Mouse and it has 3360 sensor, Omron switches and Sensei shape. It might be interesting although being similar to the DM1.

  • @kmah324
    @kmah324 8 років тому +1

    If you ever get the dm1 with 3360 in it, will you ever compare it with the 3310 one? It creates a true sensor comparison as it is
    A)from same company(so people can't complain "implementation" as an issue for test
    B) same shape(so there isn't a bias to which mouse you like more because of the shape)
    C)same texture(so a blind test can be performed as a blind test as much as possible)
    D)same weight(so the only difference only becomes the sensor)
    E)same cable so it doesn't change how moving the mouse around feels.
    F)no button difference

    • @RocketJumpNinja
      @RocketJumpNinja  8 років тому

      Maybe, but only because people are curious. I've tested a lot of mice now and rarely have a problem with 3310, 3989/8 or 3366/0, so it's really not that interesting to me.

      In the G302, it can spin out, in the G402, it won't, so it's fine. I'm trying to get one again so I can run it through the new tests. But until then... if you're not having any issues, it's unlikely you'd need to change because of sensor. Shape and weight though, those are reasons to change.

    Rocket Jump Ninja One question, I am a mouse obsessed freak. I have Roccat Kone Pure (laser, phantom white), DA Chroma, DA 3g (blue 2006-2007)(not much reviews or sensor's info about it), g100s, g400s, CM Xornet. I already had g502, but too bad shape for palm (Yeah I know that sensor is very good). I am palm grip (I have really big hand). Usually I see that shape of g400s and Roccat Kone Pure is the most comfortable for palm grip. What do you thing about it?
    And of course (about sensor question, because this video is about them): here too much info about top optic sensors, and what about Roccat Kone Pure's A9800 sensor? and what do you thing about A9800 vs S3989? S3989 vs S3668? What is "more responsive S3989? less input lag sensor?

    Dear Zy,
    Once again another question.
    Just got my deathadder today and i cant aim with it.
    It feels to wide for me.
    I do have a Rival 100 and the shape is pretty good for me,

    I was just looking at Zowie EC2-A and G303 and you released this video, nice. Would you say that G303 is really good for fingertip grip, I mean a bit better then EC2-A? I have 19.5 - 20cm hand size, and 10.5 - 11cm wide, just like you measure it. I used G602 and my hand was dying from 138g with 1 battery and I also used Kinzu V1, which seems kinda okay, but the buttons are really hard to press. I should also note that EC2-A is 66€ and G303 is 58€. I cannot import anything outside of my country, due to the 30% tax on everything imported.
    Cheers

      Surprised you're able to use small mice, your hand is pretty big. G303 is loved or hated, so I really can't say if it's right for you. It's personal preference. Not exactly a safe shape. Zowie FK series is great for fingertip grip though, maybe FK1 for you.

      the g303 is great for fingertip grip, but can be hard to palm grip, it also has a newer sensor than the ec2, and rgb lights.

    • @tlita93
      @tlita93 8 років тому

      Rocket Jump Ninja Thanks for the quick reply. I dug a lot about the rattle of G303 and I kinda got the impression that it's gone now, with newer batches. Also, Zowie is not officially selling in Serbia, so no matter how much I like it I would have to buy it from a guy that sells it on one of the local ad site for 60€ for FK1, which is illegally imported with 2 year (paper)warranty, don't know how. But G303 is available in store for about 58-63€ with 3 year warranty. I just can't decide what mouse to buy for quite some time now. Shape is not the problem, but sensor, weight and reliability.

      If it still tracks with 3 or more CDs under the mouse, it's an indication it has a high lift off distance which the majority of fps users don't like. Keep in mind the type of mouse pad you have will effect this.

    Great video and it's good to see a growing channel put some emphasis on the fact that you should really just (if you're going for performance) make sure you have one of the really good sensors and then move on to shape and weight. Sure sensor implementation is a thing, but from what I've gathered most true gaming brands won't ''screw up'' a 3310 implementation for instance. There's no way I'm going to get beaten someone because I use a Zowie 3310 and the other was using a Logitech 3366, right? ;p He's probably just got better aim, got lucky or perhaps got laid last night ;D

      Rocket Jump Ninja Hmm, yeah. I had a feeling it had something to do with tracking while lifting or reconnecting to the pad. But it's hard to tell because it happens so rarely. Luckily it hasn't been a real problem for me as it usually happens when I'm not actually engaged in any fighting (as of yet at least). That video might just explain the problem.

    I really like your videos, keep up the good work! I have a serious question however:
    On the overclock.net forums I have read several times, that the PMW 3360 and 3366 (also its variants) suffer from inconsistent tracking of slow movements (especially when changing directions on very small and slow mouse movements that can occure during tracking of an enemy etc.) You can read up about it here:
    www.overclock.net/forum/375-mice/1614638-worse-aim-3366-3360-sensor-60.html
    (I recommend starting at the beginning although this thread features some very toxic people). But I would especially pay attention to the arguments of "Falkentyne" who describes these issues in detail, dating back to the introduction of the G502. It seems that in that regard the PMW 336x sensors perform worse than e.g. the PMW 3310 and its variants.
    Another evidence of this problem can be found in this video:
    ua-cam.com/video/CIRKRzw54Zs/v-deo.html
    where the poster experiments with a G303 as a linear sensor and registers much less tracking on small movements.
    I would be glad if you could shed some light on that topic!
    Cheers!

      Doesn't have glossy sides but instead has rubber ones, different top material that is a hard, matte/textured plastic, the shape is the exact same, and braided cable (compared to original Deathadder). Also the lighting is (obviously RGB) more consistent at all angles (compared to original and 2013 edition). Plus there is software, although it isn't the most in-depth, at least you can create macros, customise lighting and assign buttons. And I think the sensor is more accurate and sensitive to small movements, like in the vid. I have it BTW.

    Well... I wanna buy a wired/wireless gaming mouse, I have a Mamba (the
    first one) but I broke it (my fault), now I use a wired ASUS ROG that
    comes with my laptop, it's O. K. except that I cannot get used to the
    wire's weight.
    My first option was the Mamba 2015, but then I read about the G900 and now I'm undecided between those two, in some reviews people say that Mamba is more comfortable than G900, but sensor in this one is better. What is better then? Comfort or sensor?
    I think I have clawgrip but so close to palmgrip... I liked my Mamba so much (hand with 20cm, so this mouse wasn't so complicated to use).

      I bought the ec2-a 3 days ago. I use a mix of Fingertip/Clawgrip, and i think the ec-2a is better suited for people who use a palmgrip or like to have the mouse "in" their hand. I ordered a FK2 cause i liked the shape of the g303 (but the mouse size was too small).

    • @paulnguyen1223
      @paulnguyen1223 8 років тому

      I bought the ec2-a as well. I tried fingertip/claw gripping it. It's way to big to do that I just couldn't.... I think it's better for palm grippers. This isn't a bad mouse a lot of pro-players use it. What's good about the mouse is the sensor, the shape, and the feel. You can take the gamble and get it if you want, but remember it's gonna be weird in the hands when u fingertip it. Sadly, I SOLD mine because It didn't suit my grip style and I myself was whiffing shots If u order on rexflo once u open it u can't return it. Currently I use the G303 sensor is great. Also good for fingertip/claw. Stewie2k and Uber use the G303 maybe some others too.

    Good video. Some people just get way to hyped for newer sensors etc. The 3310 is very very good yet i have seen users on overclock.net talking shit about it despite everyone saying it was a godlike sensor with no anglesnapping / excel etc a few months ago...

    • @kmah324
      @kmah324 8 років тому +1

      The people on ocn over exaggerate everything. In my opinion, the 3366 "feels" better, it feels "smoother" and well, "snappier" to me than the 3310 The 3310 is good, but I think since the 3360 is the better sensor, people would rather have the 3360 instead due to the fact it is the best or one of the best. People pay good money to get the best and if people see the top end nice not having the "best", people get pissed off and talk shit about almost just as good sensors. 3310 also gets shit now because of the competition comming out with the 3360/s398/8.

I also own a rocatt Kone pure military(shape isn't the best but otherwise excellent) and an ec2a(side buttons are soo bad and scroll wheel is borderline acceptable) which have 3310 sensors
