Great video Jason. Very impressed with how quickly you changed ribbons. Keep the humor in your videos, it makes me smile. You share a lot of wonderful stuff.
I bought a device with a bunch of thin ribbons attached from the religious bookshop. A flat piece of plastic with a slot at the top and long coloured ribbons looped through the slot. No knots. The flat plastic strip slips down the spine of the Bible.Mine has quite an open spine.
Just added two ribbons to my journaling Bible without taking out the one ribbon marker. I used a glue dot and pressure - no glue, no mess! Loving your videos!
Love how you setup and add your coding and answered prayer section to your bible before use. Planning on doing that myself except for changing the ribbons. tfs!! Also, love the humor you do to your videos!!😂😂
I always enjoy your Bible videos. As a matter of fact, I used one of your older videos to get me through replacing ribbons in an old Bible I had with shredded ribbons. I like the note and color system as well. I’m trying to incorporate a little of that myself. I don’t know if we sat down and talked that we’d be 100% on the same page theologically, but that doesn’t matter too much! Haha But seriously, thanks for making these type of videos, I enjoy them a lot!
Just found you today. Love your humor. Subscribed as I want to hear more of what you have to say. I won't be changing ribbons, but this was interesting. Thanks.
I put 5 ribbons in my ESV BIBLE: 1--Sunday school main lesson, 1--Wed. nite bible main study, 1--daily a.m. reading, 1-- daily p.m. reading & 1 to mark a daily reading of Psalms/ Proverbs as I repeatedly work my way through. 😀
Hey Jason, I love your videos, and I am so thankful that you take the time to make them and share your love for God and His Word with us. God bless you and your family 😇
I have to agree, you are hilarious! But beyond that, you're informative, knowledgeable, charismatic, and dare I say, entertaining? I've been following your channel for about a month now and I really enjoy and appreciate your input, particularly in what to look for in a Bible. Since I can't afford a Cambridge, I've opted to go for an ESV wide margin large print that I found online for $32.00! I can't wait to order it in a couple of weeks. Thanks again for doing what you do!
I just found your channel today and I can't stop watching your videos. I love the idea of adding ribbons. I'm so excited to try this. Thank you so much.
Aww you're so gentle with your Bible. If they hate what you do to your Bibles may we pray they never see mine. I color the edges, add ribbons, washi tape, stickers. I will take apart the binding so I can add extra pictures and paper. I will paint the covers or cover it in artsy paper. Turn it into hardback from soft and that's just what comes to mine right now!
So interesting to watch. I may get brave and put some ribbons in one of my bibles that didn't come with one. But I may start off just using some free standing ribbon that's not glued in first (before I start prying the binding loose).
I love your videos and I think the way you tell these idiots off is extremely funny, I love it, keep the videos coming and the way you add pages to your Bibles is great I did some of that yesterday and it works great. Have a Great Day and God Bless. Take Care.
I just found your channel and I think you're awesome. I already do some of these things, but you introduced me to a couple of new ones. Thanks! Also, I really like your humor, and THE HELMETS ARE AMAZING!
Have you ever thought of putting your key on a separate piece of paper & “hinging” it in with washi or masking tape ? I personally did this & it helps because I can see my key no matter where I’m reading at in the Bible, in case I forget what I use a specific color for! Just a thought :)
It's a great idea... but I'm in the scripture every day... I don't forget my key. If the key requires a reminder, then it's not actually gonna help. keep. it. simple
Jason Mayfield true that. I am as well, I only meant that if your key has changed with you & the way your taking notes over time to better suit the application of certain verses. I.e, orange for me used to mean questions I had, but as I’ve learned more about the Scripture & God, I have re-purposed it to mean principles. Not something I forget, but if someone were to look at my bible years from now they may have been confused at the use of specific colors & how they changed as My color code evolved from a beginner to an intermediary use.
I like the way you did your ribbons. In mine, I didn't take the original one out, I just added one more of another color so I have one for new testament and one for old testament now. Thank you for the inspiration. 😉
Because I grew up going to church in Arkansas, your accent just puts me in the sanctuary. "This man is about to preach." Thank you for the great videos.
Wish I had seen you do ribbons last year because I made my ribbons too short. I glue them to cardboard strip & insert & glue that strip down the spine then lay the ribbons over the page.
I’m interested in getting a premium Bible & so glad I have been watching your videos! Biggest reason is I now want to be set on a guide. As much as possible so I don’t just make a mess & really get to enjoy it! I’m leaning toward the Camebridge ESV like you have!
I’ve always been trying to find a good use for the note pages in the back of my Cambridge WM. I’ve always been hesitant to use it for notes because of all the page flipping. I like the prayer journal idea I may steal it!
Oh no! Arts and crafts with the wife's cuticle scissors, kitchen butter knives and nail polish! Hahaha! I lock my things up to keep my husband from using them in the garage! Men need to buy their own arts and crafts supplies 😂
I love this content it has helped me read my bible more because i made it more cool lol. Honesty it makes you want to pick up your bible and read and start highlighting.
I don't understand the point of the start date? Is it because once you do all your studies in the Bible you move to a new one? New to all this so appreciate your tips.
Kim Hughes hey I know it’s been a while since ur comment but I think a good reason is after you make so many notes in a bible you probably need a new one eventually lol but you still might want to go back to your old bible and see notes that helped you at a certain stage in your life if that makes sense. Like I think for example one specific verse might speak to you a certain way at one season in ur life but a different way in another season of life
It’s trial and error I guess. I have a hardcover journaling bible I did this too and pushed the text block too far out bc I taped them together 🤦🏼♂️ then put them in the binding. I can’t wait to do another bible though. Appreciate the authentic content bro🤙🏼
"...the third thing I'm not doing but I am gonna keep it in my brain, in my brain is places preached and videos taught and the reason I'm not sure I wanna do that is because I don't travel and preach that often so I don't want a sad lookin little list in my Bible cos it'd be sad lookin..." HAHAHAH I laughed sO HARD
You seem as a believer who takes the Word serious but not themselves. Jeep that up! Awesome vid. Good practical advice. Haven't seen that ribbon color combo yet. Looked good.
I don't like my handwriting either. Foor years it has stopped me writing in my bible. This year I just went for it and I am loving my Bible time so much more. Anyone feeling held back by handwriting, just go for it. It will set you free! 😊
Because I am visually impaired, I use an electronic Bible on my Amazon Fire tablet. For use, I have a regular printed Bible. I didn't highlight the text because it would make things a little difficult to read. Plus, I did tend to overdo it especially when I was in college. It is only in the past couple of years that I started using an electronic Bible on a tablet. I am currently using the Spirit Filled New King James study Bible. I love the way that it reads. I am having trouble getting into the habit of highlighting and taking notes in my electronic Bible. I'm using the Kindle app for reading. I would love to hear what you would suggest for someone like myself. I am not a traveling minister. But, I do have a UA-cam channel and do sometimes reference to scripture and the things that I'm talking about. Any suggestion? I would also be interested in other Bible verse lady books go with the one Bible. I actually have a couple of different translations.
Have you made a video about rolling the leather cover? I've seen videos of that in the past, and I can't seem to find any of them now. If YOU made one, it was probably my favorite.
Me, trying NOT to be that person -- a 7500-word, "obnoxious, pretentious boob." 😂 So many funny quotes I had written down, but looks like they were all shared. Except maybe this one: (Jason cuts ribbon) "Flunk. Perfection is not the goal." 😂
I wasn’t sure what you did. Did you glue the ribbons to the inside of the Bible cover or to the pages? Maybe it didn’t matter, right? Brother you are a blessing!
Sounds like some of your past commenters would need tranquilizers if they saw my bible. I add pockets (which weirdly enough hold sketches of future planned tattoos), extra ribbons, metal embellishments, etc. Hobby Lobby is my favorite!
I have just happened upon your channel in my quest for a deeper relationship with our Lord and Savior and I really enjoy your enthusiasm and energy that you have. I have really enjoyed your channel so far. Spiritual Coolness .... that is awesome! Keep the coolness dude! :)
Big question. How do you respond to messing up a marking in your Bible or smudging something and it looking bad? I have a problem of having that happen and then responding by buying a new Bible. Just curious for someone who does a lot of marking!
Casey Easterwood find the verse or page on another Bible that isn’t marked or on the internet and print it out on sticker paper. Cut it down to size and cover damaged area. You’ll have to match font size and such.
“I’m not one of those guys. I’m very comfortable with you thinking I’m an idiot!” Hahahahaha I love you dude!
I thought that box had tools in it. I wasn’t expecting it to be full of ribbons. 😂
And nail polish 😆
The manliest ribbon box on the internet.
@@yahusrevus and nail polish!
I just got an ESV single column bible journaling and I am so excited to use it in 2021. Thank you so much for this video! God bless you!
Son: Good night, mom. (Looks at my phone) You still watch that guy?
Yes, I do.
Great video Jason. Very impressed with how quickly you changed ribbons. Keep the humor in your videos, it makes me smile. You share a lot of wonderful stuff.
I want an edited down version of only the black and white parts of this video... 🤣
14:55 "Ribbon Boutique" LOL Thanks for another great video Jason.

I love this video. Especially the knock on the self-important types.
JUST STARTING MY BIBLE JOURNEY,,,,,I LOVE YOUR VIDEO'S
Love how you setup and add your coding and answered prayer section to your bible before use. Planning on doing that myself except for changing the ribbons. tfs!! Also, love the humor you do to your videos!!😂😂
Thanks for sharing your process with us - I particularly like the idea of putting the start date at the beginning of the Bible
I always enjoy your Bible videos. As a matter of fact, I used one of your older videos to get me through replacing ribbons in an old Bible I had with shredded ribbons.

""Spiritual coolness...""That''s an interesting phrase...
I loved it too!
Agreed!
😂😊🤣Love your humor! Thanks for sharing your insight and experience.
You could also use a lighter to the end before you put the clear nail polish on to keep from fraying. Just a hint for next time. In Him, Heather.
Just found you today. Love your humor. Subscribed as I want to hear more of what you have to say. I won't be changing ribbons, but this was interesting. Thanks.

Anytime I hear someone say, " A lot of damage."
I hear it in Phil Swift's voice.
I was looking for this comment!
“THAT’S A LOT OF DAMAGE!”
Aww you're so gentle with your Bible. If they hate what you do to your Bibles may we pray they never see mine. I color the edges, add ribbons, washi tape, stickers. I love your honesty. Prayers need answers.
23 plus minutes of coolness...😎 thank you!
Amateur tip: My wife’s eyebrow tweezers were very helpfully in removing the original ribbons from my Cambridge WM.
Cutting at an angle helps with the fraying issue. Also you can use a product called Fray Check, found in the fabric section of Hobby Lobby!
So interesting to watch. I may get brave and put some ribbons in one of my bibles that didn't come with one. But I may start off just using some free standing ribbon that's not glued in first (before I start prying the binding loose).

My favorite Bibles are well used Bibles. Stickies tabs, notes, scribbling, underlining, and highlighters in them.
You seem as a believer who takes the Word serious but not themselves. Jeep that up! Awesome vid. Good practical advice. Haven't seen that ribbon color combo yet. Looked good.
First time ive seen your videos but really enjoyed seeing this one. I will be trying myself to change my ribbons soon

That was cool. Thanks for sharing.
You are so freaking delightful!! Happily subbed. :)
Good advice. I think I'll include a list of bible studies and groups
Have you made a video about rolling the leather cover? I've seen videos of that in the past, and I can't seem to find any of them now. If YOU made one, it was probably my favorite.
Love your videos! And...if you mess up a ribbon exercise or whatever, I will stand in line for a 'giveaway' promo LOL
😍😍😍 Thanks for info and spiritual coolness

The April 1st joke 🤣
Thanks for the info. This helps.
Wow. Do you find the ribbons stick to the backing of the pages and not the leather binding?
I love your videos and your ice cream.
2 mins 20 in and omg I love this video. And your accent 🥰
It's now 2020 ... do you still use Inkjoy Gel Pens for notes in your Bible and what highlighters do you use please? Many thanks!
For the longest time I was terrified that if I marked in my Bible at all I was going to go to hell. 🤣
Good job!
Hi Jason
What are the keys (colors) you use to make up your bible?
Do you break in the spine of your bibles?
thank you
Another great video!! Tranks
While I don't always agree with you, I do enjoy your videos.
If you’re not afraid of messing it up ribbon wise or etc. You can send it my way.
You never saw cuticle scissors?
you crack me up! Great video!
"Write the name of myself." Lol lol.
Why all the different ribbons do they all means something?
They mean "I need to get to these places quickly." 😂
So do you actually try to decipher the meaning behind a verse or do you just your write own interpretation?
I reallllyyyyy like your energy, ur awesome! /Sweden
Do you sale these finished Bibles ?

I like what you are saying however you mentioned an audio bible which I use all the time so how do I write all that stuff down?
I’m not sure what you’re asking. Ask again and I’ll try to answer. 😁
5:39 Hi Jason what's the watch you have ?
Apple watch
I'm asking how do I write notes on my audio bible, I highlight lots but can't write notes can I?
Oh... I have no idea.
