It's misleading though as it implies that it is specific to the individual - but it isn't, as the videos are very none specific, with comments like "get into the habit of saving". I was very excited about this but feeling deflated about it now. It doesn't 'coach you back' it shows you three generic videos which aren't specific to your own personal needs.
keeping it honest always. The first 3 videos are very generic in my first week, though they gave me a good advice to start a list of my accomplishments, I can clearly see the coaches reading from a script in the back. It's not genuine. When I am thinking about the business model, I think it's entirely based of the score you enter on the 4 sections and it gives you a video based off the score, which can easily be done with a database and pre-recorded videos. I would imagine they created variations of the videos and just place them there randomly. I don't think people are looking for pre-recorded videos and it doesn't seem to be personally tailored to you. Though the advice was good.
@@dylantimoff My thoughts exactly. Having re-listened to the opening video, the sales video and re-read all the blurbs (to make sure I wasn't imagining what I thought it was going to be) I really don't think it matches the reality.
Sorry, I should have added that I emailed The Diary to query the personalisation aspect, I was told "It's not personalised" but page one of The Diary reads: “The advice you’re going to receive is personalised based on what you tell me”, so which is it?
Yes, sadly you are right. Which I discovered after making my own unboxing video. It says it's 'personalised' but it's not. However, I'm finding that the Diary itself is so nice, I'm using it more than I would a normal notebook. Is it worth the money just for the Diary itself? Not sure...
I hope you got a refund? A bunch of friends bought them and ending up getting refunds as the diary isn't "personalized" as stated. Thats all you have to say and you can get a refund.
Agreed, as much as I respect Steven, I'm not sure it's worth the money. I'd hoped for a more personalised experience. The quotes are fantastic, but the pages are always the same. Love the feel of the book though
So basically someone is reading everything you wrote down and suggests how to help?
after using it for a week, they are not reading what you wrote, but only looking at your ratings in the end of each week. You have to manually enter them in to the system, and then they send you 3 videos dependent on your scores.
