Yeah hard to go back when you've seen it dozens of times and will see it dozens more before I die I'm sure. The shorty story by Stephen King from the book "Different Seasons" is good as well - Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption. I read it long before they made a movie. I've always said since the movie came out that it works so well as a movie because it was only a short story. The script writers didn't need to leave out major portions of the story because it wouldn't fit in a movie time frame.
@@rogerhickson7256 I've seen it more times than I care to remember, but I'm content with just watching the last hour, from when Andy comes out of solitary and talks to Red in the exercise yard. Shawshank is one of the best adaptations of Stephen King's work. They took his short story and turned it into an all time classic movie. Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman's roles were so iconic that 25 years later you can still recite lines from memory. "Get busy living, or get busy dying."

When I think of Tim Robbins, these are the movies that come to my brain (in order): Bull Durham, Shawshank Redemption, The Hudsucker Proxy, Top Gun, War of the Worlds, I.Q. and City of Ember.
I bought The Shawshank Redemption at my favorite charity shop the other day for a student. But after watching it again for the first time in years, decided to keep it as one of my cherished collection. It's one of the few movies that makes me cry. I agree with SupermanHopkins, except the bad neighborhood lives in my subconscious mind. Either way, if he can do it, so can I. Can't wait for Dark Waters. What a cast!
Every time I visit my family my brother enjoys teasing me when I ask what we're going to watch. He's like, Shawshank is on (because cable recycles it every week). Then he does his Morgan Freeman imitation, "Andy Dufresne..."

I really loved his character in Arlington Road. An amazing movie..
That man crept through a mile of shit and came out clean! Man oh man!! What a book!
This was one of those movies my mom made my sit down & watch with her and I don’t regret it it’s absolutely one of my favorite movies of all time 🙏🏽
You have a great mom.
Jacob’s Ladder is easily one of his best films!
Big Shawshank fan but, Dark Waters is also fantastic. Well worth a watch.
I adore Tim...😍❤😍
There's nothing I love more than watching something I love with someone who's never seen it. I'd buy tickets and travel to see that reaction video.
Y’all when I saw the thumbnail I thought the late show had Julian Hssange and I almost lost my shit
Huh, the resemblance is uncanny. Is Tim Robbins doing a Julian Assange movie? Inquiring minds would like to know.
I don't know if the resemblance is that striking... It's just the hair and the beard. In the movie clip, he looked nothing like Assange
Shawshank Redemption is a Top Ten GEM of a movie. Dark Waters seen 3 times ... brilliant screenplay, top notch acting.
Tim Robbins is a legend 🔥🔥💯
Shawshank Redemption is my all time favourite movie ❤️
This is one of the best interviews ever. I never would have thought Tim Robbins would be such an amazing guest.
The best movie that didn’t win an Oscar. Can’t wait to see Stephen’s reaction!
Released in the same year as Forest Gump and Pulp Fiction.
@@deeray9447 Quiz show was good too that year
Is he a weird hermit?
I've watched Shawshank Redemption about 7 times now, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.
Can't help it, I see it on, I watch it again....
I've loved him since Bull Durham. Great Actor.
When I think of Tim Robbins, these are the movies that come to my brain (in order):
Bull Durham, Shawshank Redemption, The Hudsucker Proxy, Top Gun, War of the Worlds, I.Q. and City of Ember.
OMG Shawshank is such a great film. It one of those you never forget and want to watch over and over again. WTH is wrong with Stephen?
relax, Patti
I never realized how huge Tim Robbins is.
You never noticed that he is bigger than all of his costars?
@@mickeye6428 I always noted the tall .. its the mass that stands out now . he looks great .
@@kasnitch Watch "The Brink," he looks like a giant next to jack black.
Go back and watch Top Gun. He plays Merlin and there's a shot of him at the end on the carrier deck and he's literally towering over everyone.
Best Tim Robbins quote: "You know. For kids!"
Bryson Clan 🔥🤣🔥I was dying to quote Hudsucker!!!!!!
Well played Sir!!!!
Also.... Fact....

Age gets the best of us. He’s aging gracefully. I’ll always picture him in his fantastic rolls in the 80’s through 90’s.
seen it at least 100 times can sit and say the lines along with actors luv it
I’d sell about every single thing I own to watch THAT movie with THOSE guys.
Every time I visit my family my brother enjoys teasing me when I ask what we're going to watch. He's like, Shawshank is on (because cable recycles it every week). Then he does his Morgan Freeman imitation, "Andy Dufresne..."
