As a cis-gender woman, I went in drag to see the Barbie movie. It was my protest against women (whether trans or not) feeling compelled to appear in this way. As Rana Thamrin said, it leaves a person wondering if she needs to be changing her appearance radically, if she cannot be accepted as she is- as she is in her skin, in her nature. Appearances are all very well, but aren't we each a lot more complex than that? There was an eye-opening documentary some years ago about plastic surgery in Venezuela- how women's body images were being literally shaped and dictated by one man and his ideas about what they should all look like- and how even very poor women were getting breast enhancement surgery. This is not it, but similar- ua-cam.com/video/VtddBzqe-vE/v-deo.html
You have been so brainwashed by the trans movement. The correct term is *"biological woman".* The term "cisgender" is the word used by trans-women and trans-men used to give themselves away (whether they are passable or not).
because while there are some trans women competing in beauty pageants, there are countless other trans women out there being beat, raped, shunned because they don't look "passing" and to reinforce this, only the most passing, gorgeous trans woman is their voice? it's pretty sad. at least least trans women and cis women share this issue.
This is just a certain topic of discussion that is interesting to at least talk about. And like the person above me said, when there's countless non-passing transwomen being killed for being said non-passing (also cis women being killed for "appearing trans") how do these pageants presenting mostly passing trans-women effect those non-passing transwomen? I mean, I get where you're coming from but a leftist news outlet like Vice asking legitimate questions about beauty norms and talking about how trans culture still isn't free from sexist standards that the larger emancipation movement has sought freedom from is actually pretty refreshing. This obviously isn't your ballpark, neither is it mine, but this stuff is still interesting to a lot of people. If you think about it, often trans women still strive after what some would call patriarchal beauty norms, which is a bit of a mindfuck. I could see how some people would abhor the reinforcement of barbie esque stereotypes by people they might accept as women but who have not shared the same burdens as them. Sure, what's happening in Gaza right now is more shocking, more relevant, etc. Still, there's so much coverage on that it's hard to see anything else. It is important to keep an active discourse about our standing and our rights and where we are going, to be reflective even on things that can't possibly compare to the hardships of war. Everything else pales compared to the hardships of war. However if we stop talking about these things we lose track of the different undercurrents at play and the way we actually want our future to look like. When you lose track of those things as a group or society, never ending chaos ensues. We all know what that looks like.

"It's a celebration of passing...who can look and sound the most like a traditional cisgender beauty queen." Totally DISAGREE with that statement! If that was indeed the case, then the extremely feminine Thai candidates would have won the crown every year but apparently they are not always that competent in the Q & A portion. The eventual winner in the pageant featured here which is Miss Philippines is not even the most feminine in the group but she possessed the so-called "whole package" of beauty and brains equal ratio. Obviously this interviewer only mentioned that statement after her one obvious personal choice/bet didn't make it to the Top 3.
gurl there's a tea for that year.. that year the Philippines bought license to MQI to be held in the Philippines, that's why they won. however with that being said, if you watched closely the judges judged the contestant really mainly around how they look not their advocacy, which is fair but that's what I meant. in my opinion based on the final question Colombia should have won, but in the end, this is all about business ... so I hope this would enlighten and shed light to your accusation towards me.

Beauty peagents are a result of basic human desire the feeling of being wanted and desired. Few questions and answers does not defines someone’s internal beauty. I can’t criticise it because I am also a human and I like being desired and attractive. But these pageants of any gender doesn’t define our true beauty. These contest only makes less attractive people more insecure. Only hate i have is what if your wrong, and we are warning your pending doom? Personal choices have its own individual accountability. If its considered a sin, and I'm trying to warn it is the concern of the soul which when the body is finite the soul, consciousness is eternal. This story is more to show bigotry still exists. Just read the comment section to see the people of this world still have an obsession about things that don’t affect them.
When it’s being shoved in our face 24/7, being told how to think and talk, and pushed onto children, then yes it does affect everyone wether they want it to or not. Any reasonable person who doesn’t agree with your world views and speaks out against it are not bigots.
@@myron1231234it doesn’t affect you though. It’s “pushed in my face 24/7” and I feel perfectly fine, sounds like a personal problem there buddy
Most people are too busy just ‘getting by’ these days to notice, let alone *comment, to be more accurate …
@@zu-tangclan8113 good for you buddy, eat this stuff up. But I noticed you didn’t comment on the part of you guys forcing us to think and talk a certain way like you and if not were just being bigots, and heavily pushing it into children face 24/7 in which parents are now bigots for not wanting it.
@@myron1231234 you sure have an imagination. Pushed in your face 24/7. Really? This story was pushed in your face or did UA-cam recommend it because you have been looking up terms like trans, lgbtq, gay. I am a woman and I want to enter this space
How do you compete with artificial beauty full of surgeries and silicon? And they are not women, just men.
Mmm, I doubt a real woman would be allowed., but trans allowed in women's spaces.
happy to see this subject explored with the level of nuance it deserves!! thank you to Rana for the insightful coverage
They are biological men not real women
"It's a celebration of passing-who can look and sound the most like a traditional cisgender beauty queen." That sounded like an insult to all transwomen
Мужчина извращенец не является женщиной lol
Why is it an insult to trans women, we’re criticizing the institutions which subjected us to these standards,, 😅
Great interviewer.
This is not it, but similar- ua-cam.com/video/VtddBzqe-vE/v-deo.html
there’s no way for a man to be a woman other than stereotypes, that’s not true for real women.
You have been so brainwashed by the trans movement. The correct term is *"biological woman".*
The term "cisgender" is the word used by trans-women and trans-men used to give themselves away (whether they are passable or not).

"as a cis-gender woman" opinion discarded
@@zenster1097 - 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Yup. Get out of here with that "cisgender" rhetoric BS.
How about we just stop overthinking everything and just let people do whatever the fuck they want
because while there are some trans women competing in beauty pageants, there are countless other trans women out there being beat, raped, shunned because they don't look "passing" and to reinforce this, only the most passing, gorgeous trans woman is their voice? it's pretty sad. at least least trans women and cis women share this issue.
It's just a question to be reckoned with.
@@nicolemarie1360I agree that these trans women shouldn't be treated like trash, but I also believe that the should embrace being what they really are and that is a male, they need theropy

Umadbro?
Maybe both

Miss Pinay slayed!
Your conclusion was always something that was obvious honey, I apologise, but they chose to be there.
@@Ranatastic It is not just an Extemporaneous Speaking Contest after all. There's a reason why those distinguished judges were appointed and there's a reason why you are just a mere spectator and will never be qualified as a member of the judging panel...your opinion is just as irrelevant as all the other spectators who think this and that should have won. Back to the statement about "who could pass more as a cis-woman"...then the Thai candidates should have won every year if that point was accurate. This reporter should try sticking to fair journalism, especially in the pageant industry where all candidates have entire countries rallying behind them.
Thanks for sharing!

Let me clarify, i do not hate. That's your perspective and feelings of your creation. Yes, i could hate, but that's a choice, and there's more like love, compassion and empathy too. In growing up was taught religion of Christ, and in no eay Jesus never hated anyone throughout the years he was on Earth. God considers these lifestyles choices a sin, a given example is, Sodom and Gomorrah, in those cities had wickedness, but God was going to destroy, prior which is very important he sent two Angles in, but God didn't immediately destroy, he warn, and if you realize you are the one that hate, perhaps frim your personal experiences and your projecting your hate up us. Only hate i have is what if your wrong, and we are warning your pending doom? Personal choices have its own individual accountability. If its considered a sin, and I'm trying to warn it is the concern of the soul which when the body is finite the soul, consciousness is eternal. Trans person, even when you try to erase the outside the internal is hardwired including the dna, we cannot change the xx, and xy.

Great video, as a trans person who began transitioning early in my life, it's good to see how attitudes change. As a kid there was only the most disgusting representation of trans women, and it made me hate myself growing up.
If you began transitioning at a young age than your parents let you down and they need to be locked up and investigated by the state. A lot of this ideology stems from early childhood abuse.
