It's been a while! I'm back with a brand new type of videos, introducing my new van series🚐 I'm so excited to be sharing this journey with you all! Thank you to everyone who stuck around 💗
I'm sorry but I just don't understand it when people renovate perfectly good campervans. A lot of work has gone into making them that way. I think it's better to fit out an empty van than to destroy an already built van. To me it just seems such a disservice to the van and yourself. Mind you I haven't seen your other videos I hope you're happy with what you've done but I just never see the point to it when people do these things anyway enjoy your travels)
We have a 1997 we are revamping. Ours has a drain in the main floor by the kitchen, and shower head that pulls out from the toilet area so you can shower. There’s a shower curtain the follows a circle ceiling track to control the spray over the drain.
The toilet should retain a little water after flushing to help keep tank odors from seeping up into the cabin. It's common for the gasket to go bad if the toilet is not used much over many years and sits in place as it goes dry. Internal cabin temps play a large part in this. It takes on a "set" that doesn't seal properly. Some times, an application of turpentine or mineral spirits can restore the rubber. other times, you may wish to install a new seal. In function, those old toilets rarely fail.
All camper vans should come with a residential style toilet with bidet attachment. I’d rather have a big bathroom than a kitchen. No one really cooks inside anyways because of the smell and it’s not practical. You either grill outside or explore local restaurants
Very nice! I had a 2007 Chevy RT190P. It didn't have the doghouse so it was easier to pass from front to back. One drawer has a cover that slides out to give you another counter space. It also had a shower in the aisle by the toilet. A shower curtain comes out of the toilet closet and follows an overhead track around the vent. Our had a cloverleaf table that had folding corners to change the size. It was big and heavy and not very practical. Your tables seem better. Nice find!
I absolutely love those older gmt Chevy truck platforms. I have a 2008 Chevy roadtrek 190 versatile. It's great but I miss the old school Chevy power train.
These vans are almost impossible to find anymore that aren't beat to death. Your fortunate to get a good one, And still being that old I am sure you paid a pretty penny for it.
Now that’s probably the first tour I’ve heard of one of those. Tell ya da truth as an elderly person almost 73. I would do very little to change anything in that van…. ungodly amounts of storage, since it’s just me and my wife I’ll probably get rid of that seat that’s blocky. The door, and somehow figure out how we could shower, but honestly other than that the design is very generous, and very efficient.
Hi Maddie the reason the other knob on the sink tap does nothing is because there is no hot water heater on this van. This is the reason that there is no shower as well. Quite a challenge to add the hot water system to this van. If you wanted the luxury of hot water then it is easier to buy a van with that as a factory install. Have a nice day. Tom in Canada in the Maritimes at the NB-NS border
Thank you for posting this. I have a Class C MH but I'm thinking about getting a RT because I really don't need the size of the Class C. You were very thorough in this video and it helped me A LOT to decide to get one. Excellent video, you went at a good pace covering it all!! Thanks again. Will look at the renovation one too. Safe travels. JG
I would change anything on the inside except the hot water. Maybe an exterior paint job.... I love it. I have a 1999 coachmen with 28,000 miles. I'm just making sure everything works and then I'll be doing some videos as well. Good find!
just saw your video…love your van they’re so awesome…i have a 96 pleasure way that needs some updates but is overall still in good condition…will be looking for more and hope the remodel goes good
I had a beautiful 1997 190 Popular at one time. I renovated it to my liking and traveling in it. I miss it so much and wld like to find another one soon! Best of luck with your remodel plans and your traveling! You'll enjoy it so much. New sub, will be interested in watch your progress.
That generator noise would probably drive me crazy but like you said it's still really handy especially when you're in the middle of the woods camping away from any power supply 😊
Ooo, fun! 🙂 Cool camper. I've only heard of these old Dodge camper vans, a couple of weeks ago. It's nice 👍 to get the grand tour. Get used to a bunch of, hope you enjoy "Living in a van! down by the river!" references. 😂 😆 😉 That most people under the age of 40, will have no idea what it's a reference to. 😂 Mr Farley, you you left us way too soon. 😞 But thanks for the video! 👍 🙃
I’m so happy that you have your own van! Amazing video Maddie and thanks for your tour. Glad you’re back in the action even though you have busy plans this year. Can’t wait to see what you do next😊💕
Hello Madison Alexis I just found your channel and Love Love Love your van I'd keep everything stock that way you can just show that the old style can be rocked all the way
@@madisonalexis reminds me my time backpacking in Australia and NZ.. ! Awesome times of my life ! Hope you'll enjoy as much as I did ! Can't wait for new uploads 😊
Love this van style ✨️ Lol 😅 i've actually considered selling my current 2016 Roadtrek Zion RV for one of these. Down-sizing to this would be super easy!
We just bought a 1986 Chevy class B van. Has toilet shower lg fridge just cute ready to make it our own. We bought it knowing the transmission was not working. Paid $1200 for the van pluse tax and title fee.
Well this van definitely has a lot of compartments but I'm happy for you girly will be staying tuned for your Van related content its definitely gonna be fun and interesting left a like .
Thank you @Dog&Buttwefly :) I believe so! The toilet that is currently in there works just fine with the holding tanks, so I'm not sure if we'll need to replace it or not. Thank you for watching!
IMHO I know it's a 3 year old video. Yes replace the AC and the generator, the front overhead storage door I would pad it just in case. I would sand and lighten the wood. I would replace the carpet with vinyl and if you want do a throw rug or two. Photo the outside and have it repainted and paint on the stripes and logos. Oh there was another video of a similar roadtrek van and it had a 20-gallon fresh water tank.
You can measure your AC unit and buy one that’s same dimensions and swap them out. The newer ones are more efficient and have remotes lol. Most Roadtrek owners swap out the AC units for new ones.
If you hold the switch in the off position for a few seconds before turning it on, it might start right up. Be sure and run it once a month with a load for 30-60 minutes.
Hi, My name is Sheldon I saw your tour of your 1993 RV van. I am curious to know where you brought it from because I am interested in buying one the reason why I want it to have is because I need something to fall back on. Please comment back and let me know thank you
So much storage but no shower? This is a 93. I just hate that. I have to have a shower. I never knew they made motor homes, travel trailers and travel vans without showers. I would have to get rid of the carpet. It gets so dirty and it out of stylle and no hot water.
I just stumbled onto your channel I am good with languages and accents, but yours really has me puzzled. Am I hearing Long Island? Ii keep going back and forth between that, and that you’re originally from a German speaking country. EDIT: I just saw your bio blurb on Instagram. I’m originally from Virginia also, but right across the Potomac from DC.
Hi Maddie, you did a great job recording the video. You are such a babe. I personally love my 1999 Dodge Roadtrek 190 Popular. Keep making the video’s. I enjoy watching them! Your Fan; Robert.

I had no idea there was so much packed into those vans. Wow!
Nice well kept van
You did a great job describing all the features of the vehicle.

I’d bet any RV dealer has a mechanic that can clean and tune the generator. The are pretty reliable units and are built to run almost forever.
That generator noise would probably drive me crazy but like you said it's still really handy especially when you're in the middle of the woods camping away from any power supply 😊

Check under the door of toilet, another little storage most don’t know about! (We have a 2003.
We kept some bins with spare batteries, small laundry soap and softener there. It isn't dirty and can hold a few things but isn't tall.

the generator probably just needs a new carburetor, ~$50 on amazon. They can be cleaned also.
