It is perfectly understandable although you can hear they are not Dutch with a somewhat strang 'g" (even tougher than our "g"), the "z" is somewhat different. A problem might be that many words in Dutch and Swedish are the same or similar. So that can be confusing I guess. On the other hand the similarity will have helped them a lot when singing since they would probably actually understand what they are singing (after some explanation what the words mean that are really different). So in the end Swedish and Dutch share enough similiarities to make it pretty easy for both people to pick up the language. Not nearly as close as Norwegian and Danish, but after these two the closest to these languages. My familly and I went to Finland and fortunately many things were not only in Finnish (which we don't understand at all) but in Swedish too. And with Swedish we actually we had no problems at all. We simply understood everything (WRITTEN) without much effort. To put things in perspective. Only Danes will do a better job in talking/singing Dutch. Better than English and Germans for example.
