A local golf shop told me about the Wilson Triad golf balls. I absolutely love playing with them. Good ball for a nice price. Will have to check out the irons.
The club fitter where I go is a 100% Wilson player. He has played some tours, can put a drive out 330, but as is the case with many aspiring players had back issues that meant competition for a living was out. But as a club fitter, he works all day with different players and all the new clubs, so when he says Wilson is making some superb clubs, I believe him and others probably should as well.
Replaced an old set of Mizunos last year. Tried various 'mid-handicap' clubs and almost went for PING G430s but finally bought Wilson D9 forged. Fantastic clubs, distance and feel are spot on. Good for you giving Wilson irons a shot - massively underrated clubs,
Well done Andy, Wilson are class. I really wish people would understand what bladed Staff irons offer, high spin, consistency of distance and easy turf interaction. Every golfer should play blades down to a loft where their speed requires launch assistance. Too many people using hollow clubs unnecessarily in my opinion.
Another good video Andy. As it happens I collected my new Dynapower irons yesterday. Hit them at the range and was very pleased with first test, hopefully play first round with them tomorrow. Unfortunately we haven't had the release of the Dynapower forged here in NZ yet or I might have gone down that road. First time I have been fitted for irons and Wilson fitting process very easy, asked a few questions, measured floor to wrist height and then hit five shots with a special club with sensor in. The Wilson app then suggested shaft and club head options and it was a matter of testing a few different configurations out to arrive at final selection. Always enjoy your videos but glad to see your course vlogs back to the style you had some years ago, they have a unique style which makes them very easy to watch
Glad to see Wilson back to making high level golf clubs. Back when I started to play almost 60 years ago almost everybody played Wilson Staff blades. I still have my original set, and my fathers set, in my basement. Starting about 35 years ago Wilson lost their way and nobody played Wilson's. Nice to see them back.
Perfect timing, Andy! Tried out the Dynapower Forged at the weekend and agree with everything you said. Great feel, good height and decent angle for my swing speed with sensible distance. I’m going back for another tryout this week. Looks promising for this seasons WITB.
Those are really beautiful! I love Wilson clubs. I collect vintage clubs and I have two sets of Wilson iron sets. I have Wilson Pro Staff irons with cavity backs and graphite shafts and an older set of Wilson Sam Snead Blue Ridge irons with steel shafts that are blades. Both sets are really fun to play with.
I really like how Wilson have come back into the game in the last 2-3 years - some really good looking and affordable clubs. Love the staff line, and when looking for some new irons in the not too distant future, they will definitely be a contender!
I used to be a Wilson player and must admit I played the best golf of my life with them. Don’t know why I went away from them. Thanks for sharing this video. I liked what I saw. Might be time to go back to Wilson
One great thing about Wilson is the simplicity of the line up making it so easy to understand. I have in my collection, D7 and D9 forged. Next purchase Will be D9. The D7s are in my holiday bag. 🎉
changed from cobra forged tec to the 2022 model wilson D9 forged.....deffo not made a mistake..blown away with them.....they tick all the boxes for me......😊😊😊😊😊
Great to see Wilson getting some of the love they deserve. Pound-for-pound they would have to be THE best value, high-performing irons available. Admittadly, I am somewhat biased, in that they are my new clubs this year. I currently bag a 5i and 6i in the Forged Dynapwr's predecessor - the D9 Forged, and I'm just waiting on the blade/CB combo set (GW - 7i) to be delivered (hopefully this week). The Forged Dynapwr would surprise a lot of people with just how compact it is, and the feel is as good as any other brand's forged offering. It is worth mentioning And, that the Forged Dynapwr and CB have different lofts, with the CB @34* and the Dynapwr @32*. The CB combos beautifully with the blades in the short/mid part of the bag as they have the same lofts. And aren't they a thing of beauty? I found the stronger lofts in the D9 Forged (Dynapwr) also combo well with the CBs because I need a little more help to maintain good gapping into the 5i. Thanks for the on-course review. I never get tired of seeing these clubs 😁 P.S. you should give the blade a go. You'll be surprised at how 'easy' it is to hit. Yes, a really poor strike will lose you a chunk of distance (10-12 yards, in my case), but a slight mishit is only a minor loss (2 yards). As a 9 hc, I'm happy to get my 7i within 20 ft of my intended target, so a few extra feet on a miss hit is OK with me.
I wondered if you have tested the Cleveland Zipcore XL? I'm looking to update my Callaway XR irons and was directed to the Ping G430 and they really didn't feel great to me. Also looking for a couple more suggested clubs to try. I usually shoot in the 85 to 95 range depending on the course obviously. Thank you again. Really enjoy the feedback from your videos.
Hello Andy, the new Wilson staff line 2024 is a true revelation. I recently tested the MB, CB and forged Dynapower. I opted for the MB, which in in my bag for 2024. Too bad, you did not review this one in the video. The Wilson staff line is as good if not better than many other brands and cheaper (in particular comparing with Ping). The other advantage is that like Mizuno, Wilson staff offers a good list of stock options for shafts, including graphites.
I had a set of Wilson irons years ago but I moved on to Mizuno as Wilson seemed to lose its way a bit. More recent Wilsons look spot on, with shelf appeal and performance as well. Nice work Andy.
So glad to see you review these as I’ve been interested in trying the Dynapower forged. Did you see a forgiveness drop off compared to the game improvement version?
Played a set of the dynapwr clubs while in Florida in Jan. They were a rental set and the driver was the titanium version. Theu impressed me but the gi irons do put me off looks wise but that forged version looks sweet. The driver left a lasting impression on me.......🤔😏😯
Can you please review Maltby irons? Specifically the TS3 forged irons? I would love to hear more about them, but there are very few reviews on them and I don't have a way to hit them without buying first.
Not sure if I missed it, but which shafts were you playing? I am super keen on getting myself some Wilsons and it's great to see someone with a relatable swing speed giving them a go on course.
I traded in a bunch of clubs not being used and after trying numerous brands, chose the DynaPower with the UST Dart graphite shafts. I was very impressed with their performance and looking forward to using them.
Seriously under rated and very pretty irons. Wilson make great irons at a very reasonable price. Given I play i210s, the Staff CB iron would be my choice - IMO up there with the likes of Blueprint S, Miz 243 as some of the best looking irons of 2024 for me. As for spin numbers, something people get very excited about, the Forged is only 1 degree weaker than my 6i but spins about the same and I seem to recall Andy is or has been a relatively lower spin player. That plus the peak height is plenty to stop the ball when it lands - although in the current conditions even with the driver my ball stops where it lands (golf on mud island, when will it end)
Enjoyed your video. A most realistic assessment of golf clubs for a high handicapper. Still a toss between GI Dynapower or forged. Will not consider the staff.
I almost went with Wilson, but couldn't find the clubhead/shaft combo I wanted in left handed. I went with the Titleist T200...maybe next year for Wilson...
Wilson make great clubs at great prices, but the downside is not many stockists and difficult to get a decent fitting also limited shafts. They need to ramp up their marketing and stockists if they want to take on the big boys.
Wilson was the Callaway of today. Marketing made all the difference with Pro’s being paid to play the Callaway’s. Both clubs are great and very little difference in performance. Years ago, I tried a Wilson driver and found it was almost perfect a driver as ever.
Would you try the taylormade qi10 HL irons and give your opinion. I hit a bunch of irons today and they were the longest and straight. Really the best feeling of the forgiving irons I hit as well. I also hit a 50 gram fujikara shaft, which I thought I would never play or like but they were great.
I have had Wilson irons for the last 2 sets, I got fit last year and tried the dynapower game improvement and didn't like them. I ended up getting fit into the wilson d9 forged and love them, I like them so much I picked myself up a 4 iron and 3 iron. Wilson irons do not get the credit they deserve.
Wilson have always made great irons. Recently the Staff wedges and putters have also improved, as have the new Dynapwr drivers. The new staff model ball is getting great reviews, and the Triad is probably the best mid-priced ball going round for many golfers. When you factor in their new AI Fit technology, Wilson are back in a very big way. There will be people who are slow to catch on, and ask “huh? Wilson still make golf clubs?” But never mind the naysayers who need to be seen drinking the koolaid. This renaissance of a great golfing brand has been underway for 5-6 years already, and plenty more to come. Now…. if they could just improve their marketing! 😅
My only issue is I had the Wilson d7 irons and the plastic power bars broke or came out on three clubs and because they don’t make them anymore they couldn’t be replaced or fixed although Wilson did try even though they were out of warranty but it did put me off new Wilson irons other wise great irons
They've always been a brand that put their money where it belongs instead of tour players pockets. I think Padraig Harrington is the biggest name they've sponsored in the past 40 years. John Daly wasn't a top player when they brought out the gimmicky fat shaft irons.
I always laugh when claims are made winningest irons on tour or in majors. None of us who are looking for game improvement irons are tour professionals. Also, world class players who are sponsored by major brands will play well with any irons and all of their equipment is custom made to their exact specifications. I want to see some of these reviews or claims made by grabbing average schmucks on a driving range or local course go hack a round with them to see what they think.
Considering Wilsons pedigree, they have, for too many years, flown under the radar. Now that's down to advertising, and millions per year are pushed into force-feeding golfers with new clubs from the big brands. Wilson, I believe, thought their reputation would carry them, but that strategy failed, as the big hitters, took the initiative to gain dominance in the market. Wilson, have always produced good irons, but were pigeonholed into the better players blade type irons. But now they have rebuilt the brand, with better offerings for the masses. Some of the new irons, compete head on, with the big sellers, it just needs the golfers out there to recognise the value for money, offered by Wilson, without sacrificing anything. Oh sorry, one thing is sacrificed, BRAND SNOBBERY.
Actual shots on the course, not hit by a tour golfer, lend large credibility to your review. Thank you, Andy.
Thanks Ron

I have been hitting the Dynapower irons for almost a year and they are amazing. Nice to see other people finding out as well.

Seems you made a good choice 👍
Well done Andy, Wilson are class. I really wish people would understand what bladed Staff irons offer, high spin, consistency of distance and easy turf interaction. Hi Andy - I play the d9 forged which look and feel amazing -
Also have the dynapower driver and staff model putter ! Love the brand
I have all Wilson now after hitting the dynapower driver last year. I hit the forged irons and they are amazing definitely the next upgrade to my bag
Another good video Andy. As it happens I collected my new Dynapower irons yesterday. Hit them at the range and was very pleased with first test, hopefully play first round with them tomorrow. Great vid again Andy. I think they are going to be my next set of irons. Look superb.
I've always had good luck with Wilson Staff clubs. Excellent review.
I hit the synapses forged the other day and loved how they felt
One great thing about Wilson is the simplicity of the line up making it so easy to understand. I have in my collection, D7 and D9 forged. Next purchase Will be D9. The D7s are in my holiday bag. 🎉
What is a holiday bag? Is that sort of your "having fun and not trying to hard" bag?
changed from cobra forged tec to the 2022 model wilson D9 forged.....deffo not made a mistake..blown away with them.....they tick all the boxes for me......😊😊😊😊😊
A true test, on course, good average golfer and my next clubs, Dynopower forged, thanks Andy
Just picked up a set of D9 forged. Unbelievable performance for the price.
Thank you Andy. Again a very efficient review. Glad you played them out on the course. 😊😊
Thank you 🙏
Andy, you have such a special way of doing golf product reviews. Really enjoy watching your videos. Please keep up the great work.
Much appreciated 👍
Wilson has come out with some fantastic irons for sure. Certainly worthy of a hard look by anybody looking for new irons.

Play with wilson cbs 2 to gw and love them, absolutely wonderful feeling and not tremendous distance but very accomplished quality irons
Thanks Andy, I’m actually looking for some help in the 5 and maybe even a 4 iron. May give the dynapwr forged a go.
I've said this on other reviews but wilson staff are hugely underrated as a brand. especially their irons
Wilson Staff forged irons have always been out of this world. They even made it to the moon !
Good video again. Heard a lot of positive reviews of these irons and now will be testing them on course soon,. Appreciate this

Had a set of the X-31 I believe they were called - superb - combo set with a Nippon Modus 105S perfect they look stunning👍
Great reviews on the Wilson’s irons, I must say the 3 sets of irons look very smart
Certainly surprised me
So glad to see you review these as I’ve been interested in trying the Dynapower forged. Did you see a forgiveness drop off compared to the game improvement version?
I had the hybrid set but didn’t like the sound. I would be very happy with any of these sets! Thanks Andy
Would you change Wilson V6 Forged tour irons for any of these 3 models...im tempted for the Forged or the Sttaff but what would i gain?
Gorgeous clubs. Can't wait to try them. Thanks!
The Staff looks the best to me. Lovely looking iron!
Played a set of the dynapwr clubs while in Florida in Jan. They were a rental set and the driver was the titanium version. Theu impressed me but the gi irons do put me off looks wise but that forged version looks sweet. The driver left a lasting impression on me.......🤔😏😯

I am super keen on getting myself some Wilsons and it's great to see someone with a relatable swing speed giving them a go on course.
5-GW Dynapwr Tensei Graphite + Dynapwr 4 Hybrid - Awesome!!
Went to get fit at club champion the other day and my fitter games wilsons and thats what i got too after trying them
I have to admit that I haven't considered Wilson in the past. Sounds like I need to start.
I traded in a bunch of clubs not being used and after trying numerous brands, chose the DynaPower with the UST Dart graphite shafts. I was very impressed with their performance and looking forward to using them.
Good move 👍

thank you sir..dynapower forged is now on my radar

Nice set of irons you opted for 👍
Would love.to see you review the new ping I530s
On looks ahead of everything else, the dynapower forged (middle club) 👍🏼. That’s what I would pick. Edit fixed typo.
I'd LOVE to get the Dynapower Forged, but will "settle" for the PXG 0211s. The Forged are just beautiful.
Dynapower forged are today's equivalent of the old Callaway Diablo Forged. Soft feel bullets
Wilson make great clubs at great prices, but the downside is not many stockists and difficult to get a decent fitting also limited shafts.
They need to ramp up their marketing and stockists if they want to take on the big boys.
Damn that Dnpwr F, seems like super club! iv got D9:s now maybe next! gotta wait 2 years, im only bying second hand!
Yes good idea
Love my d9's. Good content...Carry on

I agree, Wilson is entirely underrated. Where did you get that draw from, Andy?
Aldi 🤣
I’ve been watching your videos for awhile now, is it NEVER warm where you live? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you without a knitted cap on on. 😂
It feels like a long winter right now
Wilson make the best irons love my D9 Forged there phenomenal

Holywell

I think Gary Woodland played them, won a major with them.
Are these Wilson's good enough to replace your PXG's? Lol
Decent irons
Glad wilson is working on there reputation the last few years. They made junk for so long l.
What the hell ...? I saw Andy hitting draws!!!
Finding a local fitter that stocks Wilson is the problem.
I always laugh when claims are made winningest irons on tour or in majors. None of us who are looking for game improvement irons are tour professionals.
